And the way 90% of you all are talking tells me that you don’t know shit about boxing or combat sports at all, and y’all only speaking from personal preference and opinions instead of solid real life facts. His antics showboating was more effective than his actual fighting. And when he was fighting he knew he wasn’t that great and that’s why he created the “rope-a-dope” technique of using the ropes to help keep him from being knocked down and also saved him some energy by using the elasticity of the ropes to help propel him forward after taking heavy blows. If he was so great he wouldn’t have let everyone beat the shit out of him just so he could make them wear themselves out and run outta gas, and THEN Ali would start to fight back. But a fully energized boxer vs ali was almost always a given win for the opponent of Ali. He literally let himself get punished for multiple rounds every single fight because he wasn’t physically strong enough to actually complete. He could take a beating tho for sure. But that’s also what contributed to very early Parkinson’s disease that he suffered from…..From all them traumatic head blows that then caused him to develop the Parkinson’s, and then the Parkinson’s caused a whole other variety of health issues!.. they had to literally change rules because of how much Ali was getting hit without striking back and after they seen his Parkinson’s coming in they had to change the rules about how many strikes you can take without defending or striking back before the ref has to intervene… also had to change the rule of using the ropes to hold you up cuz before as long as you didn’t fall then it wasn’t called a KO.. but some people were literally knocked out standing up because of the ropes holding them up and ended up taking numerous additional hits to an already unconscious person, is NOT good
