Nice work! That glue stinks really bad doesn’t it!?
Hahah😂 tell your dad he should’ve got a BMW ❤
Have daddy quit hitting things and you won’t have to make these misinformation videos.
What did you hit?
I want a 2014 tundra
My indicator the right one is new but not working? 😮
They don’t make them good anymore.
Ask your dad what did ya hit lol 😂
Awwww needs gwoves for the plastic. Hahaha
Dad cant f ing drive😂
The left most (last one showned) has a metal upper bracket that's bent towards the back. The bumper brackets definitely broke from hitting things.
Ditches after the bar lol or mad deer hunter 😜🤪😂
So someone drove over something they shouldn’t have and the plastic broke. And your point is?😂
I love hummers..hows this beauty coming along ?
We are enjoying the project and hope to have another video of it ready to publish in the near future!
@ sounds wonderful. Can’t wait to see her on the road 🤞🏾
If it’s not the ALT it’s going to be the IBS which is the little black box on your negative terminal to your battery. That stores the battery info and allows the vehicle to see the battery. Most often the voltage regulator goes out in the alternator but good to know about the IBS. Also inspect the alternator for oil as if you have a valve cover leak it can soak the alternator with oil.
If that is the first time you are replacing the alternator, I’d say that’s amazing for 258153 miles!
Yep! Original alternator. 😃 We had it rebuilt and just picked it up this afternoon. Just needed new brushes. Looking forward to reinstalling it in Beemer. We are hopeful that that is the extent of this breakdown.
@ what did that run you to have it rebuilt? I have three to rebuild.
@@BMWBAS $88. and less than a 24 hour turnaround!
@ that’s incredible! I spent around 400 bucks on a new OEM one from Valeo.
Bummer! I just had the same thing happen on my way back to Oregon From east coast. I said a prayer and turned off all unnecessary power Draw and made it 69 miles home💪 Next day, I was feeling good about it and try to just drive down the street to the store and got stranded so thankfully it happened close to home. I hope you’re safe!
Sorry to hear you had the same issue. We made it home safely thanks to the tow company.
Alternator 🤦🏻♂️
Also EGR...
We believe the bolts are Torx head.
What tool bits required for warerpump bolts and thermostat bolts removal? Thanks
We did not document the tools used on this repair.
Don’t forget the Exhaust gets up to 1300°! I would advise checking on that after a few miles to make sure the hose doesn’t melt in the rerouted location.
Time for a delete kit 😂
Yuuup
Looks like your SCR went bye bye and is no longer letting DEF into the exhaust.
How is this holding up? You may want to change the gaskets on the charge pipe and red turbo hose coming out of the intercooler, also check your CCV hose they often get brittle and crack about the same time as this develops.
Thanks for the recommendations. We have added over 40K miles to the odometer since the cooler replacement. So far, no issues with the new cooler or the repair. 😄
@ that’s amazing how many miles are you up to now!?
@@BMWBAS 258,806 miles!
@ that’s fantastic! My daily X5 is up to 203920. And I have another I’m going through now that has 227XXX.
Great video 2024
What are those lines going to into the wheel well from the cooler?
There aren't any lines going to the cooler except for the charge air hose on each end that run from the turbo to the intake.
Buy a new one and reinforce it with glue
Maybe someone is yanking too much on. Toyota stuff is usually pretty bulletproof
Tacomas have this same knob and mine broke off this weekend. It's a real problem. I'm due for a service and I'd bet my dealer down the street just keeps a box of these things sitting around.
Thats a thoughtful daughter...good job dad.
You may need more glue.
Yeah, these new tundras are exceptionally poorly made, I hope you guys dont have to worry about the engine recall, please be safe!
great video! i'm looking at getting a 2013 x5 35d and i'm looking into common issues, and this popped up. any thoughts, comments, insights on the car you worked on (if it's yours)?
Thanks. Our "Beemer" playlist has several videos showing some of the repairs and routine maintenance we have done. I am Beemer's second owner. When I bought it almost 8 years ago, Beemer was still under warranty and had less than 20K miles. Today, Beemer is closing in on 260K miles. I still LOVE driving it!!! In my opinion, its greatest strength is how well it combines being fun to drive while also doing an excellent job with the family, grocery, and travel categories. Beemer's biggest weakness has consistently been with emission/def. Several repairs and recalls under warranty and several repairs since. As I type this, I am looking at the def hose that we need to install on Beemer to replace the leaking one. I have come to accept that emissions/def system issues and repairs will always be a part of owning and driving Beemer. Something to consider is the cost of routine maintenance and repairs. We decided to do as much as we could ourselves after I paid the dealer $500. for an oil change and fuel filter. My dad's willingness and ability to maintain and repair Beemer have enabled me to continue to afford owning and driving it. If I had to depend on a dealership, the annual maintenance and repair cost would likely be more than Beemer's monetary value. Parts are never cheap, but I have always found an affordable option. Sometimes I buy Genuine BMW, sometime good quality aftermarket, and occasionally a used takeoff. If off-road ability is high on your list, I would not recommend this vehicle. I know it was marketed as being off-road capable; but as someone who was accustomed to a Jeep and pickups, I would classify Beemer as a pavement princess. Now, if the comparison is a rear-wheel drive sedan...I am sure you get the idea. Beemer's twins are a great option for those looking for a fun and luxurious driving experience while accomplishing life's mundane tasks, provided that they are also willing to turn some wrenches or write some checks. 😀
@@FunacresFilms thank you for the thorough reply! I have had 2 older BMWs so I can understand that working on them yourself usually becomes the make or break for a lengthy ownership. I also get my parts off FCP Euro and the cost of ownership becomes manageable with them because of the lifetime replacement promised on oil and everything else. My main concern was the DEF/DPF system, and as this is my first diesel car, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I’m looking for one in the 80k mile range, so there is an expectation for things to be replaced at that mileage. Again thank you for your reply!
Dont u have to use acetone to remove that stuff.Acetone is very harsh im sure that polish will work haha
Acetone would remove the polish. Not sure what acetone would do to the plastic though.
What was the battery vent plug part number?
Unfortunately, we do not know. 😞
I hope thats a diesel sounding like that
Yes, Beemer is a diesel. 🙂
😃 Great that a ground inspection found this.
That will be 1500 dollars thank you
Thanks for the play by play! doing my waterpump and thermostat this weekend. I noticed my fuel mileage dropped significantly, and i did some diagnostic work and found my 35D is not getting above 75C. The car is supposed to operate at 88c to induce a Regen and run properly. Thermostat is stuck open on mine. Learned a lot from your video!
Thank you for watching our video. We had the same thermostat stuck open issue on our Beemer a couple of years ago. Just FYI, the original metal gasket between the water pump and engine block was held in place with some small metal tabs. Dad didn't realize this and ended up slicing his finger on the gasket when he grabbed it to pull it off. We hope your repair goes well.
Thanx for comprehensive video. Finally found for diesel transfer fluid change. There is a difference between petrol & diesel transfer box. Greatings from Azərbaijan, Baku🎉💙💙💙
Thank you for watching our video. We are glad you enjoyed it!

@@GKar464 Thanks for watching our video! 😀
Thank you for saving that poor frog
I don't know a lot about heavy machinery, but I'm super curious. Are there places that rent out those attachments, or is this a 'need to know a guy who owns one' kinda thing? Cuz, I've seen places that rent out CATs and buckets, but I've never seen that arm one before.
CAT does not rent plows like this one. It would be something you would need to purchase or find an owner that would rent one to you. BTW, this is a utility plow used for plowing in pipe and cable lines.
@@FunacresFilms Neat! Thank you for answering my question ^-^
I have an x6 in the UK and got some new ones from Ali express in dark colour amazing
sounds like someone forget to do service properly
what was wrong with it? have the same engine on a 335
The genuine BMW water pump failed, causing the pulley to come off. The plastic pulley has several hairline cracks and metal shards on the inside. The serpentine belt is noticeably off of the alternator in the video. We are hopeful that the water pump is the extent of Beemer's issues, but we will know more once we start the repair. I am planning on filming the repair, and we hope to have it repaired and be able to publish that video in about three weeks.
Oh dear not great what miles do you have on it this is a diesel intake it
Diesel with 254,000 miles. Water pump had 77,000 miles on it.
After finding several videos for non-diesel E70s, I finally found this one specifically for a diesel (and it *is* different). Thanks for posting!
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed our video.
Thank you for video!! Very well made and to the point. I was able to change my oil because of it, ty!
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed our video. 🙂
Her work is beyond amazing, and timeless.
Be careful when you water those the sun can burn the leaves from the reflections off the water droplets I burned one of mine this way whenever I water them I just do a little shake to knock off the ones that may have pooled up. Beautiful trees one of my favorites especially in the fall.
It's merely going dormant. It's protecting itself. Stop bothering it. The best way to save trees, perennials and gardens is to utilize symbiotic relationships. Plants need other plants and trees planted close together. Their roots and closeness stabilize them. It helps with moisture retention, wind resistance, shading, etc. Landscaping companies have people brainwashed to space plants and trees too far apart. Think back in history, trees were so close together in forests that people couldn't walk through without chopping their way through. It was totally dark, as well.
