If it's all new then run through the cleaning process or ink circulation option to get the ink flowing. The key to this machine is keeping the print head in use with the ink flowing. If you persistently get what looks like tiger strips / zigzags then you might need to increase the head height. This can be done in the toolbox with the touch of a button. If it's purely when you install a new head then it's most likely just bringing that head to life.

For the technology used i would argue it's very compact. Toner printers are large as a standard and this machine is as compact / smaller than any "roll to roll" toner printer on the market.

This doesn't print on pouches I'm afraid. It's an applicator that is applying pre-printed labels. It speeds up that process and add consistency.

Perhaps you don't have the waste ink tray / pad in correctly? I would recommend you contact the company you bought it from as it will be something simple.

Bubbles are more down to the bottle and label combonation. The machine is great for consistent, smooth, bubble free application, but if your bottle or jar isn't smooth you can get bubbles. This isn't down to the machine so if you have any bottles you would like testing we can do that before purchase. Just get in touch.

@BobVella-r4g we print on both kraft papers and some plastics but it's can't print on everything. Plastics can't be difficult dues to the heat so always test before purchasing.

What do you mean? If it's what settings to use when printing from a pdf then just make sure all of the sizes match. Label size, media definition and artwork all need to be the same.

I don't know the name of the font but i think it's the UK standard number plate font.

Download the MAC driver for the printer and that would most likely help although I can't see why Paralel wouldn't work either. You can download the MAC driver from the Epson site and also contact Epson support for help installing if needed. The machine comes with that support.

@@hdlabels I installed on Mac , but when i i install on windows , by paralel desktop , the windows doesnt recognize the driver from Mac...so its a challnege!

also i asked the support but they send me the driver and it doesnt work properly.

@@hdlabels Thanks! Investigating. Lots to learn. I have friends in logistics, warehousing, artists and others giving tips. There is so much to a label! I see value in going to a printing service as you suggest. For a small nursery, there would be a lot of loop-lock (self-tie) labels that need processing locally due to many spontaneous one-offs. I have some downstream products, like sauces in canning jars, that would be a good fit for a printing service.

Stuttering is "semi rotary" cutting. It's meant to do that while registering to a pre printed label so it cuts in the correct place each time. Semi Rotary cutting gives you full control of cut postion and gap size.

There are dancer arms the move the material back and forth so tension is always consistent and the auto Web guide keeps the material in line so you always get a consistent cut.

I dont know as I'm not sure I've seen a used one for sale. People tend to buy them and keep them or run them to end of life. Sorry

Your labels must be huge if you're unable to produce more than this quantity of labels. If this is the case then I would argue the L502 wouldn't be the right machine for you and whomever sold it to you should have been through this. We have sold hundreds of L502 Printers and they are a great printer if used in the way it was intended. Same as all printers really. If you have very large full colour labels then perhaps a Memjet printer like the L801 or L901 would be better for you. Afinia have a range of machines to suit the need and it sounds like you've just under bought what you really need.

It can print any design you like. Although this machine has been discontinued and replaced but the Afinia L502.

There isn't white or a 5th colour with the X350. It won't do everything but if you need full colour images on white printable material on mass, then this might be for you. Speed is high and cost per print low.

It's a single tri colour toner, so I'm afraid you replace the whole toner no matter what's out. This machine is designed for low volume durable print. Cost per print still isn't bad but it's about footprint of machine and ease of use. Separate toners would change the machine. If you need volume then the OKI Pro 1040 is the printer to look at.

This is an entry level professional printer with a user replaceable print head. There are cleaning options in the menu but it will maintain itself and you'll rarely use the clean function unless you leave it stood a long time. The printhead life level is visible so you can see how long it's lasting.
