Cul Mor, Stac Pollaidh and the iconic SUILVEN from the flank of CANISP.

The iconic SUILVEN in all its glory; As viewed from its near neighbour CANISP on 24 June 2014. Suilven was summited on 24 June 2014 but was sadly, shrouded by low rain clouds. My lunch stop at the summit cairn was without any view of the surrounding area This view from Canisp more than compensates for my disappointment!

Rothiemurchus forest 13 May 2011 He is fearless - and he is not even one of the bigger males. A bit scary when up close and personal
woah! fuck!
Not nervous, pissed off!
It looks like a stunted Turkey lmao
Oh, leave the wildlife in peace!
You mean that wildlife that borders him to begin with like with other people? Nah.
its a capercaillie, they come up to people because theyre territorial. it came up to them.
what a strange bird
mf soundin like the cannibals from The Forest at 0:54
Детерминизм это Свобода 🤙
strange pigeon
This video is proof that we share more in common with animals than we think. Even the capercaillie hates cyclists.
He's only telling YOU to bug off. You're probably close to the mating grounds where he claimed his territory.
To the wood grouse, the whole woods is his XD
That bird needs a hug, I nominate Derwent2 😉
If anyone's nervous, it's the cameraman!)
I think the bird was way too stupid to be nervous.
Really 😆😆😆
Capercaillie: *YOU! SHALL NOT! PASS!*
capercaillie knows what you did last november
God damn, you scared me more than the bird xD, 0:54
Why tell the bird to Bugger Off, it is only protecting its territory , YOU are the intruder and should be the one to BUGGER OFF.
@@DERWENT2 Yep that about sums you up
He's trying to say something, you think? Probably 'fuck off and get out of my territory, you stupid prick'.
Yes....DERWENT2 why dont you bugger off, seems like you,re the "nervous" one...LOL
You say that as someone living in a house likely built in an area once populated by animals that were run out. Why don't you fuck off from there and go live out in nature without destroying it with concrete, brick, etc.?
lol
Learn something about countryside mate. He's protecting his hen. The hen is on a nest. The nest has eggs. Go and take your tyres somewhere else where you're not being told to bugger off by nature. Idiots. Stupid idiots. Have some respect.
Gregg Hill You are such a prick, making assumptions about me or the video. You know nothing of the history of that bird or the area that he was in. Your comments say more about your stupidity and ignorance rather than your knowledge of wildlife in the Scottish Highlands🖕🏻
completely untrue, if you know actually had any knowledge of these birds, its that they are incredibly territorial, constantly patrolling their boarders which can span for many square miles. One male literally gets all the females and as a result, they are instinctively driven to see anything and everything as competition. It is a beautiful bird indeed, but it's also one of the most aggressive and confrontational birds on the planet.
Cheap is what you pay: Cheap is what you get.
Emergency ONLY
Terra Nova Voyager 2.0 :
This capercaillie has unfortunately been killed by a dog not on a leash. Despite warning signs of the likelihood of meeting this bird. This attack was in April 2012. Almost a year since this video.
DERWENT2 that's just down right shameful behaviour from the dog owner! I hope whoever the owner was got caught and was punished accordingly! It's bad enough that a protected bird got killed but what if there were kids? The dog for all we know could have attacked any children near by too! (I'm not implying that all dogs are bad, merly stating a possibility).
That is just sad... The dog had to go ruin one of nature's entertaining bird... I hope there are more birds of this kind in that area and that his death is not in vain.
Eh, well... seeing his behavior here, he was kinda asking for it. Don't rock up on animals bigger than you puffed up like you want a fight if you don't want made dinner. Simple as.
@@budgetcoinhunter lol all capperville act like that ,they fight even with eagles. They don t know what fear is not like he wanted to be killed by a fcking dog.
Lmaoo wish there were picks of the carnage
Nice
Is that right?
