My Favourite Hotels and places
Добавлен 26 апр 2021
I love to travel . We travel at least 3-4 times a year and usually for a month in December . I like to get a feel of a place , and don't always do all the touristy things, but usually some of them, if I feel the need to really learn about a new place . We generally travel 5 star , and mostly #swim #up #rooms but when we go for a month sometimes we budget and in most places, we like to see the culture, and mix with the people who actually live in that country. I am passionate about planning my itineraries to be affordable but the best on our budget when we #travel . We do not like to be uncomfortable and prefer #modern #hotels . If you have a budget and are looking to travel wondering about where to stay ask me , I'll throw some suggestions your way . :-D This is not my job its just a passion of mine

One of the best if not the best sunset I've seen it was so beautiful . I was a bit scared to swim cause waves are huge but I went into the sea and many other people did too the sunset was bright orange stunning

Large expensive 6 bed villa perfect for big family gathering. You need to be a confident driver to stay here as roads are very curvaceous The villa is absolutely stunning better by far than my video , there are little touches everywhere You will have some holiday pets mind the odd cat or two (quite friendly and in need of food) unfortunately we were robbed whilst staying here , they didn't take...

Very helpful. Thank you. I’m going this July 2024.
Dear, I did not understand what you said exactly. Does the swim up pool have a closing time whe the sun goes down?
the swimming pool? show us the swimmingpool next time ,please hahahah
Is there much local? I like to go out locally for food and drinks?
Nice room is it near the Hoem Kiem Lake area ?I have stayed at Bac Kan twice another larger one name evades me. Love to drink fresh beers at the Ledgend microbrew and watch the traffic circle madness.
No idea where that is . We walked a lot and we really enjoyed this area , and would stay again, it was the perfect place to stay in Hanoi, and a great first experience in Vietnam
Great tour thankyou, any idea what the beer is on the AI Thanks
sorry not a beer drinker I'll try to remember this in future I know loads of people love their beer
We've stayed at so many hotels in Egypt .
Did you notice if anything was marked Vegan ie: Bread, milk alternatives ?
So sorry . I have no idea . I'll try to pay attention to this in the future .
We are thinking of booking, please can you tell me the room number of next door? Also what is the food like and can you use the suite restaurant as part of your all inclusive? Thank you
The way the rooms are put together meant I did not see next doors rooms number. I was only there one night . The food is very good . You could use my RUclips link to request that room I guess if you send it to the hotel directly to ask for that room
Meant to say referring to the 3301-3306 recommendations
yes I believe those rooms allow children , however there will be rooms closer to the shallow children's pool than those I believe
Were the rooms you show in this video allow kids or are they adult rooms. Its great to be able to get some recommendations. Thankyou
I believe these rooms did allow children. There is an adult only side of the hotel, but I stayed in the mixed area of the hotel . I only saw some very young children in prams whilst was there . Mainly I saw adults even though my area was a mixed area
I’ve never seen such bad filing
Ummm did you mean filming ?? LOL I'm not trying to be a professional . This is just me and my iPhone sharing my experience , and mostly its just for me to remember all the places I went and what I did and didn't like about them , but if they help anyone great , if you don't like them , I'm sure there are other professional videos to watch
Yes I meant filming, and okay fair enough, and unfortunately there’s not many ‘professional’ ones on yt showcasing the rooms, so was quite disappointed when all I saw really was your luggage, walls and doors…
Wow! No different to the private pool rooms. Literally exactly the same.
sorry, I'll try to do better next time
It seems you are free to go to "their" part of pool and vice versa unless they bitch about it.
I don't know about that as they are listed as private pools , and you'd have to swim under the barriers .
Hi, can you tell me if you can get good coffee in the bars please?
There is a separate place where you can pay extra for good coffee
@@myfavouritehotelsandplaces5213 thanks but we booked stella Island in crete instead.
We are travelling here in July 2023, really looking forward to it.
Wow what a room tour!
Hello Were you there at the beginning or the end of October ?
Oooo cannot remember possibly half term I believe
We've booked an adult swim up room. Do you know any room numbers for lots of sun please?
Hmmm wish I could remember . I don't think we were in the adult section but the mixed section and it seemed to get more sunshine . But I am guessing these things also depend on the time of year . In my experience its always good to have a float as if the patio area is in the shade at least you can tan in the pool . Its a great hotel, have fun :-D
Hi we haven't been to Greece before, so would be the first time, we have been recommended to look at this one, any tips? Also does the hotel and rooms have wifi? Does it have a mini bar that they stock? Does the buffet restaurant have allot of choice? Beach front suite looks like the way to go?
Yes there is wifi, that's pretty standard these days most places . They hadn't stocked my mini bar in my swim up room ! . The restaurant has plenty of choice and the food was pretty good, I would say that I think they have other restaurants at the hotel and the food is highly rated by the customers I spoke to. Beach front swim up looked like the best room to me :-D
Is it True that the a la carte restaurants can be booked only once during the visit?
I was told just once , but perhaps if you are staying longer than a week you can ask , I'm uncertain
Were there in september. Great videos of the place. is the juice bar and gym etc included on all inclusive?
You have to pay extra for juice and coffees I'm not sure about the gym
thank u, was it worth paying for this holiday?
We got this seriously cheaply du to using vouchers we'd saved , but I wouldn't book this room again. The hotel itself is lovely . If I was going to stay here I'd book the sea front rooms with swim up , there are in another one of my videos somewhere
Oh and apart from not having a full length mirror in our suite we also found our room mini bar was NOT stocked which was a pain too . Considering the price we would have expected drinks in it
I will say the service is really amazing , and we did actually manage to eat at one a la carte before we left and it was really good . People do rave about the food here .
how to get to the beaches from the hotel?
A late checkout has to be requested prior to your last day. My girlfriend and I had an 8 day amazing stay in May and that was one of the first things the staff informed us about. Moreover, honestly it's not that uncommon for the shower rooms to be fully booked. The only reason we got one for ourselves is due to our request on the first day - but I get where you're coming from. The reason the hotel doesn't have 5 stars has nothing to do with these details though, what differentiates 5 stars from 4 is, for instance that the reception isn't open 24 hours a day. Nice video by the way! Hope your stay was as pleasant as ours, apart from these minor inconveniences! :D We'll definitely go back some day.
I only called reception twice and they answered both times so I didn't notice that it was closed . There are always staff around willing to help with most questions . We have very rarely stayed 4 star, my architect fiancé is soooo fussy about his hotels . To be fair these were the things I noticed that were different between our usual 5 star stay , where I have never been refused a shower room, nor have I had to book one , so I think its well worth noting . other than this yes the place is quite beautiful and reasonably priced for a 4 star which is more or less a 5 star baring these tiny details . Well worth considering and I know many guests said they would return . The grounds and spaces are perfectly beautiful and modern ultra clean , and the staff are friendly .
massages were around 80 euros
The drinks menu was a bit confusing I had to ask what was all inclusive , aparently it all was but there are prices on it
I would say this hotel is not great about informing all guests of the activities or entertainment program . From our room I could hear the aqua and just about hear some announcements but not all . I also could not find this program on their online facility even though I looked for it , so most of the time I had no idea about what might be going on . I did go and ask the entertainment team at the main pool about certain activities and they were lovely and are only too happy to inform you
3301 did seem to have some space with sun most of the day at the side of the room
The a la carte restaurants were decent , we booked ours by emailing ahead so we didn't have to worry about that when we got to the hotel . The main restaurant did always seem to serve a lot of port but we found lamb one day lamb chops another fish twice and fresh chicken one day , we always found something . actually their theme nights were probably my least favourite eating experiences at this hotel . Generally we always found something to eat . my less choice at lunch usually pizza always salads and fresh fruit , pasta burgers etc
The rooms on the side shown get sun in the am . However only the very last room gets sun all day . The rooms over looking the main pool , which ours was 3506 don’t get sun in the am but do get sun most of the day . The adults only rooms we saw , even the pools were often half in the shade for some of the day . We were in room 3506 swim up but the general public in other non swim up rooms also used our pool . Still we had sun and shade most of the day. The rooms with private pools for me the private pools were too small for real swimming so it just depends on what's more important to you
So we went twice to Thailand and can say we loved both hotels we stayed at, but the Amara has a place in my heart the roof top pool was fab and its a great area . The second time we stayed we booked one of the hotels overlooking to river . It's just a nicer way to see Bangkok via the River . Many of the hotels situated on the river have their own river boats these take you to a main stop where you can get either the train or catch the other river boats going up and down. They are super cheap and you can hop on and off at most of the temples and land marks you will wish to see in Bangkok . I highly recommend this as a way of seeing Bangkok . Its much nicer than being on a train. We then flew into Chains Mai - there is also an option to take an overnight train to this area , now we stayed right on he main strip but we didn't like our hotel we stayed at the Dusit it was dark rooms not nice , so stay in a nicer place don't worry about being on the strip its so easy to get around . This was the place we did all our main trips out as its cheaper and you can find a good deal to book several trips on the main strip they did zip lines , butterfly farm, white water rafting and bamboo rafting , we bought a separate package for the elephants but there are included ones , we chose to just walk our elephant and wash it in the end as it didn't want to be ridden and after getting on it for a bit we got off . We insisted on the handlers to not use any sticks or harsh chains etc on our elephants , but I think some of the places that had lots of elephants actually treated them a bit better . There are elephant reserves where you cannot ride them its up to you , then from here we flew into Phuket . Phuket has several areas . The three main beaches Phuket beach , Karon beach and Kata beach . Kata was my favourite , much more natural , Karon beach was lovely we encountered mostly German people in this area , and Phuket beach was not my favourite quite crowded mostly English tourists . Phuket nightlife is loud and needs to be seen just once . Actually I am not the biggest fan of Phuket . Koh Samui was amazing our favourite place , with so much to do and see I would highly recommend it . The flights there are a bit more expensive but it was worth it
We enjoyed our time here , as we had been travelling so much , however this place needs someone to take it on and give it some TLC as it has so much potential . The food was great but it was the same every night you choose from a menu for the 2-3 days we stayed it was perfect , if we were staying longer it may have been a problem . If someone made these rooms beautiful this hotel would be amazing and it wouldn't take to much to sort out the rooms and make them better . If I was looking for a proper 5 star this would not be it , but it sooo could be . Need to sort the floors and walls and the sofas and lamps and it would be great just add a bit of TLC . The pool and beach are great . Menu needs to be more extensive too if I was staying for a week I would have been annoyed at lack of choice although the quality of the food was fab
Hi, how would you rate the food ? I’m travelling here for my birthday but I am a fussy eater and I’m not sure if I should do half board or all inclusive
We are not that fussy eating . one of my videos does walk around the restaurant area and there is plenty of choice apart from dessert choice is kinda limited to same type cakes , which we didn't like . Other than that we really liked the hotel food was fine
whats the food and drink like guys.? and beach. is it worth booking? cheers Andy x
OK so the beach isn't anything to write home about , but maybe that's because the hotel is so great . the food here is also very good , and drinks exceptional . I loved the snack bars for lunch too . The MAIIYA hotel is top notch food and drink is also very good , but beach is a little disappointing really
The best excursion was to visit the baby sharks . The town centre was fun for a night out too
There are lots of places selling these types of packages so have a look around - amazing experience
See below reviews of other hotels we stayed at in Malaysia . We loved the banyan Tree , clean modern and close to the big shopping centres
The Shagri La - In Malaysia - Penang . what can I say we left the hotel , even the best rooms for us were not nice . Its old fashioned and forget wearing shorts to breakfast its very formal too . We left this hotel and found an amazing hotel with roof top pool very modern . Here was my review of the SHAGRI LA which was meant to be 6 stars lol
In Langkawi we stayed at the St regis - This was my fiancees favourite room, he loved the room and the tea and biscuits were to die for ,as was the breakfast; but the beach is nothing to write home about and its not necessarily in the best position as things are very spread out so we travelled around quite a lot to see things . It was luxury and expensive , but if you are like my fiance and just want a lovely room with an amazing view and perfect service it was great
Banyan tree -Loved this hotel especially the bathroom and amazing do it all toilet lol . We also stayed at
what I will say is that after staying at the Maiya and The Nama retreat I didn't enjoy my eating experience at the Angeli it was too busy and sitting outside was almost impossible because of wasps and flys . I think if you are staying here you would be better off eating out , unless you can handle the crowds and queues . The staff were very nice at the restaurant especially the guy who greeted us, but it was just too crowded for my liking . The room was very nice though .
The Amara is really close to a small walking street , which is a pretty little market , you may just want to ignore the people trying to get you to go and see ping pong shows , apart from that here right next to your hotel you can find shopping , massages and food everywhere
The river boat is around a 15-minute walk or catch a taxi it will be around £3 or less to do that . TUK TUK drivers will charge a fortune unless you are happy to stop at a tourist shop . They take you to tourist shops where they are given free petrol for bringing in tourists , so beware . Sometimes this is no biggie if you have time and no agenda , but be very wary of being conned into buying expensive river trips instead of taking the cheap river boats that cost like £1 . You do not need a tour believe me .
That little area at the side of the roof top pool is your smoking area . I'm a bit scared of heights but I managed it lol
Best rooms were 2021 2022 on our floor , as you can see straight to the beach without viewing the roof top of the bar downstairs . these rooms are really close to the main restaurant , and there is a lift just steps away that goes down to the other areas
www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g293916-d7786915-r335163652-Amara_Bangkok-Bangkok.html Looking around for a hotel in Bangkok my first choice was The Oukra however we wanted to budget and stay at reasonably priced but very nice hotels, and I found the Amara on tripadvisor. My first worry was that it was not near the tourist area and I was worried about getting around. Don't worry at all. We went to see the tourist area and were so pleased we had chosen to stay here instead. The hotel itself is modern and clean. The rooms seemed a little small but perfect meeting all your needs. We had a room high up with great views. The infinity pool is wonderful and there is a smoking area there with great views too. The staff will get you what ever you want it's a great retreat after a day walking around. 2 minutes from the hotel there is a small night market and lots of places to eat. 8 minutes walk to the train it it's a lovely walk with lots to see and many little food eateries along the way. Take a 3-5 minute tuk tuk to the water taxi. No one told us but the tuk Tuks in Bangkok try to get you to stop in outlets mainly because these outlets the provide them with free petrol . If you have time it will make your journey very cheap and you don't have to buy anything . If you don't want the hassle pay the extra or take a taxi . The tuk tuk we first took; took us to a tour boat place who insisted there was no other way to get around and wanted £50 for a tour. We knew this couldn't be right so despite the fact that they were not really very nice with us for not falling for it, and we didn't know where we were we just walked away and found that the water taxi was just one street down. £1 for a one way journey and £3 for a day pass on the tourist boat, if you sit close to the front of the boat you can hear the English speaking tour guide and it's a wonderful way to see Bangkok and hear about the areas and temples. There were massage places close to our stop from the boat and that was also handy after a long days walking . I m sure you could walk to the river too but we didn't it's probably only 15-20 mins walk max. Back to the hotel..... The breakfast here was exceptional . It was a great clean, comfortable , convenient hotel. We loved it and would definitely return if inBangkok highly recommend
www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g297930-d305178-r335155209-Amari_Phuket-Patong_Kathu_Phuket.html. I have nothing but praise for the Amari hotel and its management. If you are searching for a truly 5 star experience you re booking the right hotel. We had a few problems with our room, so please note that not all the rooms have balconies and be careful when choosing which room you want to book. This is a very large resort mostly on a hill and there are steps . We both initially thought that we d have problems as we have bad knees : however, they have the most efficient buggy system I have ever experienced with the buggies going up and down constantly picking up guests and delivering them to their rooms, to breakfast or reception. You will still need to manage a few steps but many people I met at the resort had injuries and we all managed quite well. We didn't ever really wait more than 30 seconds for a buggy to take us around the resort, and the staff are extremely friendly. If you are a fitness fanatic there is also a great looking gym with mirrored studio and many were out jogging around the resort in the morning . There is a 5 minute walk into Patong down a steep hill, which is a crazy place with mad night life, for a nicer option the hotel runs a free shuttle bus to and from Kata beach which we preferred . It's very beautiful there with shallow water , a long white sandy beach , trees for shade and lots of cheap places for good food and drinks. The walk into Patong is down a small but steep hill therefore I tended to ask one of the motor bike taxis to drive me back up it for just 50 bhat equivalent to £1. Taxis into Karon beach and Kata beach cost about £8 each way so it's best to take the shuttle or walk down the hill and take your first right turn from the bottom of the road you can negotiate for half the price. You can walk into Patong, I managed walking it even with my bad knees. Back to the hotel , they have a lovely gym and 3 swimming pools. We preferred to spend our time at the pool with steps into the little beach.where you can see crabs running around in the rock pools or go for a quick dip in the sea. There are jet skis and long boats at the beach that can take you to Patong beach , which you can see from our little private beach , or walk to in 5 minutes; or Paradise beach just around the corner. Do negotiate the price . They asked us for £30 to go to Paradise beach, we didn't go but another guy at the hotel went for £12. The tuk Tuks into town also charge around 6-£8 so transport does add up unless you hire your own bike or car, which can be cheaply parked by Bangla Rd for about 20p the party street or used to explore further. The hotel also runs a shuttle into Bangla road at 10pm if you don't walk to walk. The rooms here vary , you have rooms right on the beach , rooms mid way and rooms up in the hills and the club house rooms, where they have an infinity pool . They also have 3 spaces to take breakfast depending on which room you have booked. Our first room had no balcony and very tall trees , we were initially worried about being on a hill and as a smoker I really needed a balcony . The hill believe me is nothing to worry about due to the efficiency of the buggies. Due to the above we requested a move of rooms and were moved to the most amazing suite with a balcony and view overlooking the entire sea front of Patong would be worth every penny you might spend. Pierre the general manager is very hands on, he speaks to all the guests and makes himself available overseeing the entire operation with the assistance of Jessica . I have to say that when we reported any problem it was dealt with immediately , for example we had a problem with the lights in the room and the air con and engineers were attending before you could pack your bag to leave your room . Guest satisfaction is of utmost importance and as a bit of a perfectionist in my job I have to say that if I had a leading hotel of the world I would try to poach Pierre , he is an exceptional GM. Jessica also greats the guests and she checks the social media regularly so if you have any questions about the rooms do message her. I would suggest to book a room overlooking the beach with a balcony . I imagine from these rooms you can hear the sea at night. If you can afford a suite book the room we were moved to it was fit for a honey moon 2201 overlooking the entire bay of Patong. All the rooms had extremely comfortable beds, large screen TVs and many extras. For instance they provide you with a very nice beach bag to use. That's just an example , there are many extras of comfort that make this hotel exceptional and a relaxing retreat from the madness of Patong. If you are looking for a relaxing base , where everything provided is of 5 star quality you should book the Amari. After booking many other 5 star hotels in Thailand , for luxury , facilities ; and customer satisfaction , you can't do better than this hotel. If you are thinking of booking check out their website where they often have many package deals . Check that you are booking the room that you want so you are happy with it, and extend a warm smile for the extremely hard working GM Pierre who you will see everywhere making certain all his guests are happy. As someone who has stayed at many of the leading hotels of the world and all over the world at 5 star hotels I would be happy to recommend a stay here you won't be disappointed.
