Nelson, how would it be so relaxing if the area would be inundated by a million cruise ship tourists? And where are the amenities and hotels etc. in Samaná?
Hello Dovy, good question. Samaná is a big peninsula. For example if you invest or live in Las Terrenas, that’s about 50 minutes away, you’ll need a car, these cruise tourists won’t make it there. Las Galeras? Same story. If you live in the new project I’m selling in the Hills of Samaná - thats about 15 minutes out of town, you may experience an increase of tourists yes, but everything has advantages and disadvantages The average amount of passengers in a cruise is 3000. Approximately 34% stay on the boat - that leaves about $2,000 people - divide that between shops and water park at the cruise port, cayo levantado, the bridge, restaurants, shops in town, whale watching (when in season) los haitises national park and I don’t think it’ll be a nuisance. Yes, the town will experience an increase of tourists but also an increase economy for the locals. If you invest / live in the Hills of Samaná, they’ll have their own amenities- gym, yoga, restaurant, rooftop bars, shops and eventually supermarkets. Have you been to Samaná?

There’s many different landscapes in the DR - offering options for all taste and preferences: From developed areas like Punta Cana to small beach towns like Cabarete, cities like Santo Domingo, mountains towns like Jarabacoa and more ! If you value friendly, authentic people, great food, natural beauty and slower rhythm of life, the DR is worth exploring.
