Need to if u know thw two gaskets one goes around the shaft an th3 other one..do u know what part number those r..tore it apart an the gasket were in pieces
@@hockeyfreak043 there are only four parts that are replaceable on the pump, shaft seal, two O-rings, and the snap ring. The other gaskets that you see once you split the case are not available, according to CAT website.

I used my oscillator saw to cut that center light out of the light bar and omitted the center light and wired it up with out it. I can’t figure out how to share a picture of it.

Damn, I only watched the vid to see the Dogs get Zapped by the fence.
3 jack stands with a piece of wood on each to protect the hull. One at each transom corner and one under the keel toward the front. If you want to pull the trailer out, use a jack and wood block to 'hop scotch' with the front jack stand as you clear the trailer's crossmembers. Another option is to prep the boards, launch the boat, and replace the bunks in the parking lot while the boat is on the free dock.
Thanks! I had thought about preparing everything and taking it to a boat ramp and doing it there but all of the ramps in my area are not free and they frown upon that sort of thing. I certainly need to invest in some stands if I do this again.

Better check and see if you got a aware groove on the shaft itself
The shaft was grooved and Cat doesn’t sell a rebuild kit for it, so we ended up having to replace the whole thing.
I have a 2004 247 with the same problem. I had the "figure 8 seals" 3d printed. where did you get the new pump from?@@adventuresofaboatguy
@@shanenabors6988 we got a new pump from the Cat dealer. It was pricey at $900.

Getting the new engine elevated on the new brackets is a clever trick. Any technique you can do to prevent getting salt water spray/splash on the engine will inhibit corrosion.
Any ideas why when fitting the power steering fluid it only drinks starboard but when trying fill port side it’s just clicking and spitting up air? Thanks for the video
I’m not sure why there was more air in the line on the port side. I let it sit over night and bled it more the next day. Seems to be fine now.

Why would you install those ugly brackets instead of just taking a 5-inch spacer out and getting a 25-in shaft and 25-in shift shaft
For this 2006 model Yamaha the 5-inch spacer is permanently cast into the unit itself so there no way to remove it. Even if I could remove it a new 25-inch shaft and shift shaft would have cost me well over the $400 for the static lift brackets.
