Today 04/10/2022. Cruising RUclips I found this wonderful presentation of the Gospel given in 2017 by this exciting pastor in Texas (Wes Johnson). His narrative of the birth of the CP Church is the history of my chosen denomination. I've been a CP for 80 years.

I was born and raised in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Tennessee. My family is from Dickson Co. Can you tell me who this man is??

God tells Daniel that Beasts in visions refer to kingdoms. Daniel 7:17 New Living Translation (NLT) 17 “These four huge beasts represent four kingdoms that will arise from the earth. John was living in the time of the Roman Empire and before that it was the Greek empire and it is this Greek empire that will rise again in the form of the United Nations. Revelation 17:8 (NIV) The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come. “The UN does not advocate for a specific model of government but promotes democratic governance as a set of values and principles that should be followed for greater participation, equality, security and human development.” The UN promotes democratic governance i.e. a Greek governance as democracy came from the Greece. The UN’s logo has the whole world enclosed inside a wreath symbolizing the whole world will be this Greek empire that has reemerged, the Beast that was, is not and will come again The symbol of the laurel wreath traces back to Greek mythology. Apollo is represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head, and wreaths were awarded to victors in athletic competitions, including the ancient Greek Olympics. Daniel 8:3-22 New King James Version (NKJV) Vision of a Ram and a Goat Daniel sees a end time vision of a ram with 2 horns causing trouble for those around it, first the smaller horn and later the larger horn and then a goat with a large horn flies in from the West and breaks first the smaller horn and then later the larger horn. We are told the smaller horn is Media (Iraq) and the larger horn is Persia (Iran) on the Ram and the Goat that flies in from the West is the Greek kingdom, this Greek kingdom is the UN and the large horn is the US. It was the US with the UN coalition of the willing that broke Iran’s power and will do the same later for Iran. Daniel tells us that later on the large horn(US) is broken and 4 smaller horns will take the US place in running the UN Greek kingdom. The UN is run by the UN Security Council which consists of 5 permanent members who have all voting rights, once the US is gone the 4 smaller horns of power will be Russia, China, England and the EU which is represented by France who is part of the EU. Daniel 7:2-24 New Living Translation (NLT) Daniel’s Vision of Four Beasts Daniel has a vision of 4 Beast kingdoms rising from the sea of people; the 4th Beast kingdom consumes the whole world which the UN does as all the countries are in it one way or another. We are told of 3 other Beast kingdoms that are part of the 4th , the UN and once the UN is gone these kingdoms will be around for a short time later but stripped of their authority. We are told this 4th Beast kingdom is ruled by 10 kings. On the UN Security Council which runs the UN there are 5 permanent member nations and 5 non-permanent member nations making 10 kings. We are told that these are end time Beast kingdoms and after that God’s kingdom will fill the Earth. The first Beast kingdom is the Lion representing England, the second Beast kingdom is the Bear representing Russia and the 3rd Beast kingdom is the 4 headed leopard with 2 sets of wings symbolizing the 6 countries that formed the EEC which grew into the EU (Italy-Roman Eagle wings, Germany Eagle wings and the 4 leopards Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands and France. Daniel 2:29-45 Evangelical Heritage Version (EHV) Daniel is given understanding to the kings dream in which he saw a statue made up of different element representing the world empires to come and Daniel tells the king that the head of gold represented the king as gold was plentiful in Babylon, Bronze represented the Greek empire followed by the iron which represented the Roman empire. The last empire before God’s kingdom will be established on the Earth is the empire of the 10 toes who are a mixture of races and made up of iron and clay which represent this world empire. Our modern world is made up of Iron and clay better known as reinforced concrete which is a clay like material (Concrete) poured over iron rods. These 10 toes who symbolize different races are the 10 different nations on the UN Security Council, the last world empire before God’s rule is established on the Earth. Revelation 13:1-4 New International Version (NIV) The Beast out of the Sea 13 The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. 4 People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?” We see the Beasts of Daniel but this time they are joined together into one Beast forming the 4th Beast that consumes the whole world, the UN. This Beast is joined by the Dragon(China) and now we have the 7 heads who are the Lion(England), the Bear (Russia), the Dragon (China) and the 4 headed leopard (EU which is run by 4 presidents/heads represented by France who is part of the EU. These 4 countries are 4 of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council which runs the 4th Beast, the UN. The UN also has 10 non-permanent member nations on the UN Security Council, 5 sit on the council while 5 are in training who will replace those on the council in a years’ time, these are the 10 horns. Revelation 17:12 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 12 “The ten horns you saw are ten rulers. These ten rulers have not yet received their kingdom, but they will receive power to rule with the beast for one hour. These are the 10 non-permanent member nations waiting to rule on the UN Security Council and when they do they will give their power to the UN. Revelation 17:3 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 3 Then the angel carried me away by the Spirit to the desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a red beast. The beast was covered with evil names. It had seven heads and ten horns. The 5th permanent member of the UN Security Council and the strongest (the large horn on the Goat of Daniel) is the US which is represented by this Woman (Statue of Liberty) who rides this 7 headed Beast. Revelation 17:18 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.” The Woman(Statue of Liberty) is located in New York city as is the UN, where the kings of the world meet, and the US rides the UN. Revelation 17:15 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) 15 Then the angel said to me, “You saw the waters where the prostitute sits. These waters are the many peoples, the different races, nations, and languages in the world. 16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will take everything she has and leave her naked. They will eat her flesh and destroy her with fire. The US sits in many countries and the waters/seas represent people. We are told that the 7 headed Beast will destroy the Prostitute (New York City) and Daniel tells us that after Iran is stripped of its military might, the Large horn on the Goat is broken i.e. the Us is stripped of its military might.

as a baptist, i pray for the cumberlands since i discovered their history. the cumberland presbyterians are the closest to baptist soteriology of any other group. you are also for the "regular" folk, much like the baptists were (and mostly still are). ur also like us in that theres no unnecessary education required of its ministers...helpful yes. but required no. as the PCUSA and other presbyterian churches are dying, i hope you guys are able to attract those that are leaving those churches, but most importantly, reach anyone who is lost. i would like to know tho, why 2/3 of ur church merged back into the main presb church. what made those who merged decide to accept the predestination of the larger church?

"Every country has the government it deserves" and "In a democracy people get the leaders they deserve." - Alexis de Tocqueville “When God wants to judge a nation, He gives them wicked rulers” - John Calvin (more a summary of his thoughts than a direct quote) If you ever turned this into a series you could expand it to four realms of government: self/individual, family, church, and state. You could tie government back to a punishment given over to people that reject the Lord as their king (1 Samuel 8) and that the tax is seen as tyranny placed on the people (an additional tenth...contrast that to the taxes we pay today...) People often reference Romans 13:1-7 as all governments are God ordained and we must simply obey what they pass as law (usually a reference made in response to unfavorable law passed here that is irritating but seldom is referenced to Islamic government, North Korean government, or other forms of government that are an absolute tyranny) . However, government as you said is responsible to God and they ought to enforce justice based on God's view of justice, not simply on what they or we think is just or good (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25). As a series you could raise the question to what standard then is or should a government then look to (Isaiah 2:2). So much could be explored on this topic that many churches never speak on!
