I’m just wondering, because I haven’t seen it answered anywhere, but can Edelgard’s Crest of Flames proc before she reveals it in story to Byleth?? I can’t remember if it ever did for me before the reveal

What makes her growths even better (by far one of the best spreads in the game oddly enough) is the way 3 houses treats the students. Having a MINIMUM of 2 stats raised per level, makes her shine. The odds of her not levelling anything except magic, dex or speed is insanely high since her other growths peek at 25%. When she would miss a magic/ Dex/ speed level, she might have only gotten 1 stat on the first roll, the game will reroll for another stat. This effectively gives her double the chance to level magic / speed / Dex. That’s why you see Lysithea level magic so much more often than other units with only 5% - 10% less magic growth, such as Hubert.

I beat the entire game with only Ignatz (and some healers, but by the end of the game all my healers would get wiped out by the 3rd turn lol). his crit rate is INSANE if you set him up right . Ignatz critnatz 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Im doing a golden deer run now so this is very useful

to be honest, hilda isn't a unit i'd prefer using in maddening difficulty. even with using the most accurate units in the game with hit boosting tools, misses are still commonplace - and i remember using hilda in my normal run, and even *there* she struggled to consistently hit enemies. her physical power is nice, but it has zero meaning if it means she'll miss. i'm aware hit +20, accuracy rings and other modifiers exist, and it could be that i got really unlucky with her growths, but god damn. she kept missing.

even if Cyril was the best unit in game, you'll never catch me using him

I’m surprised that Felix isn’t higher up considering I always hear how absolutely amazing he is. I’m wondering, who would you consider to be the best dancer? I was going to use either Marianne or Dorothea but was wondering if there was anyone better for it.

I think SS Cyril should be put down to C tier. He joins so late with such abysmal bases, he doesn’t have the time to master the classes he wants before the timeskip happens and I find him to struggle a lot to catch up

In my first playthrough I didn't notice her flying rank and I opted to make her my swordmaster in the long run and she did pretty amazing in being a dodge tank swordmaster. At least in normal mode her speed had her doubling most bosses after the early game. I recruited Ingrid as my only pegasus knight and I made my Byleth a wyvern lord which he was honestly OP as, even archers barely did anything to him cause his defense rose with almost every level up along with speed and strength. His res was ok, but still hurt much more than the archers cause I guess wyverns are weak to lightning

Forgive my ignorance, what does it mean to rig a recruitment?

I LOVED my Ingrid dodge tank, you didn't put enough respect on her name. Alert stance on her with high sword prowess and a battalion that boosts avoid, set her up in a forest tile (dont even need a forest tile really) with killing edge equipped and shes dodging EVERYTHING and responding oftenly with a crit. And with small speed investment, she's doubling if youre attacking with her. I compare her dodge capability to dedues defense capability

Monestary dialogue in three houses has the worst simping of each character. Leonie and Cyril have the worst of all of them though.

Would you recommend mortal savant for sword mages (ex. Constance), or is it better to keep them as other general magical classes?

Beating a map quickly is bad 99% of the time. You lose out on a most of the experience which allows your characters to grow more powerful. Warp is obviously powerful but if you want it that bad and you have maddening unlocked you can have it the moment you gain access to your quarters... Also availability doesnt matter AT ALL in maddening because you can just pay a little bit of renown to make any unit easy to get (as long as you had them before which you probably did). This tier list might mean something if youre trying to speedrun without using any new game+ mechanics. If youre actually trying to play the game let alone minmax this tier list is just so far from realistic its amusing. Mercedes is the best healer in the game PERIOD. She can just grind xp with fortify and end up at like level 50 or something ridiculous without even attacking anyone. Dorothea is insane when shes maxed. One of the best units in the end game. very safe and powerful. Ingrid is the best tank in the game when you max her. basically immune to magic damage and has very high avo + good protection. Petra is arguably the best unit in the game (aside from leaders and byleth) when shes maxed. Crit machine that cannot miss, dodges everything AND is strong against gambits because of high charm stat. Give her the chalice and she can wipe entire maps on her own. her only problem is weapon durability. she can also 1 hit the death night because rapier is balanced. Lysithia is very good but shes overappreciated. She can nuke somebody once per turn and if you give her vantage and get her low enough she can be a menace but if she misses once or if she fails to kill someone once she usually just dies. too unreliable and risky compared to other room cleaners. Her stats are amazing but she cant solo anything. ferdi is just a slightly worse version of sylv kinda like felix is just a worse petra he should not be this low. Hes a really good physical tank too. and last is byleth whos just busted.. idk what youre on about not putting him on top of everyone else.. you dont even have to max him he just kills everything and he can heal.

I'll say that Mercedes is severely underrated on this list. Of all the mages except for maybe Hapi, she's the most durable mage unit in the game. She tanks mages better than any other unit. And because she has Physic, you can just find scenarios where you can put her off on her own and actually kill a lot of units. And I'm not just talking about mages, she's quite adept at killing armored units. On the Bridge of Myrddin map, I just let her kill the 3 armored units. She can just kill them all by herself. You just need to position her where only two can attack her at time. And this isn't too hard because armored units have limited melee range. She can tank 2 hits, and counters with fireballs. Then she just heals herself by healing others. I also like to use her to fetch things like going to chests in weird places, she's still usable because she had really good range on her Physic. So I still use her because while I like to LTC maps, I still want to get all the things. And she remains useful retreiving them because she can heal across the map. I'll state that you don't need Mercedes. But to me, using things like conconctions slows the game down. If you're drinking potions, you're not doing damage. And if you're not doing damage then you're watching a lot of enemy phase turns. And if there's something I hate doing is watching the AI do things. I dont' like turtling, I'd rather attack on enemy phase while leaving the unit to be in position for counter-attacking on enemy phase. And this means you have healing after they attack. My strategy is usually to make a hole in the enemy lines with ranged units then allow go through the hole and attack from the backside to be in position for enemy phase. So I like units that have Physic. It keeps the death ball rolling. And I'll state that I'm not a big fan of using low health builds. I don't mind Batt/Wrath, but using Bernie as a damage dealer is silly to me. I think Balthus can get away with it, but I don't rely on it. I honestly have other units that can kill as well as she can. What Bernie is good at isolating an entire quandrant of a map and slowly but surely pick off units and there's nothing the enemies can do. On Bernie's paralogue she state she wants to go into the forest. Then it turns out that the forest is filled with assassins and and a bunch on ambush units. Well, I follow the script and take that way. I do take Lysithia but it's only those two units and they kill everything in that forest with only those two units. Those two kill two units every turn.

idk why this is showing up on my feed now years after i played 3H, but i still click. it's a good look into him but i think you conflated 'dodge tanking' with 'ep monster'. the former just indicates luring and soaking up attacks whereas the other goes beyond that and adds murder. when i used him as a dodge tank dancer/brawler/WL, i actually don't want him to kill on ep much at all due to the noted confidence and level up conflicts. he's a chip ep guy rather than dimitri ep guy. he survives well enough even when confidence drops or a lucky gambit hits as long as the build has gone far along enough...as long as you weren't too careless in positioning.

What isn't discused about Bane of Monsters is that stuns monster with a single blow. So it's a skill that makes obtaining ores a high tier skill. It's not a skill that you should equip for every map for obvious reasons, but on monster maps particularly for obtaining Mythril is particularly useful. While it's not always useful, having the ores ores to repair some of the best weapons in the game allows you to use those weapons on every map. And the fact that you can unequip it for a more useful combat art on those maps when not useful is nice.

Incredible that the success on this run at one point fell on a 50% hit from that pegasus mage agaist Celia. If she died it would be so much harder lol

The low RE with low DF means you need make her a knight and mage first then go into something like bow knight

Solid tier list. In my humble opinions, i strong disagree about Felix and Catherine being so high, Anna should be lower too and I would put dorothea and flayn a bit higher. Apart from that I don't think I would rate them much differently. That was a very interesting and very informative video. I really liked it

On my most recent playthrough i just left him as noble and didnt train him. But he gained reason levels through bylths teachings. His magic actually could dort of hurt units on his paralogue and actually got a kill after hilda ledt a guy with like 3hp and no one else could move.
