So, it's the summer of 1987 and I'm working at this gas station and this dude pulls in with his muffler scraping on the ground. He's got like a 1975 Chevy nova; never met the guy before this night but this place I worked at was across the street from the 'cruising' spot in my town... It was a Roy Rogers'... That was the 'turn-around' and big hangout place... So I meet this guy and find some bailing wire to hang up his pipe until he can make it home to do a proper repair... Off he goes... So I see this dude a few days later and we start hanging out as the tailpipe repair event gave us a bond... (at any rate, I introduced him to some chick he wanted to meet that he eventually married and had a not so great relationship with.... but that was later on...) So this dude has this kick-ass krako stereo with a pioneer eq and some bad-ass 6x9's in his Nova... We're hanging out and he puts this cassette tape in and tells me: "Dude, what you're about to hear is the greatest band ever and it hasn't hit here yet, but it will... very soon." Turns out, it was Appetite for Destruction by Guns n Roses. I hated it. Still do. That is all.
