  • @luckylunaloops

    Thank you!! When I see a big litter area like this and I don't have enough time or trash bags to clean it all, I prioritize the plastic as it's the worst for the environment.

    • @WalkLitterless
      @WalkLitterless 18 часов назад

      @@luckylunaloops I agree the plastic is the most important as it’s the most damaging to the environment and won’t biodegrade unlike paper and cardboard which will rot down through rain etc.

    We have Brant and Canada geese. Did a great bird watch along a canal in Western FL. We have Trumpeter swans, my favorite. Do you use a spotting scope?😊

    • @WalkLitterless
      @WalkLitterless 8 дней назад

      Brant is the same as the Brent goose that I mentioned in 20:19. I never knew Brants were in Florida, that’s very interesting. Trumpeter Swans look beautiful. The UK has the Mute Swan instead but the trumpeter looks quite striking with its black bill. I use to have a bird watching scope but recently sold it because it was heavy to carry around, and my binoculars were just as good.

    Shame there was so much litter in that area. At least it wasn’t as bad as other areas. If my geography serves me right, that pick was only a few miles as the crow flies from “The Pit” that Gerard & Chilli attacked a couple of times. Keep up the fantastic work 👍

    • @WalkLitterless
      @WalkLitterless 8 дней назад

      Thanks! The pit is not too far away from the reservoir, and I think the reservoir gets picked by either the council or Thames Water so it was quite a relaxing litter pick unlike my other 2 recent ones (Episodes 6 and 7) which you could tell they were obviously neglected.

    2025 is like any other year for me when you get to an age like myself, its a bit like rinse and repeat. Ive long given up on making plans and new years resolutions, they just never work. Best to just take every year as it comes and see what the year brings your way. Maybe best to talk to your local council when it comes to knives just explain to them you do volunteer litter picking and you have come across knives, then just ask what you should do with them? Your local council might even give you some free bin bags for litter picking. Winter time can be a difficult time for litter picking but it gets easier when spring and summer comes along. Great work :)

    Sounds like you need to put on an extra layer when you go out in the cold. Maybe a flask of tea or coffee in a backpack so you can have a break and a warm. If you are new to this just be aware of bags and bottles that can have human bodily solids and liquids in them aswell as needles. When you are litter picking you really need to be aware of what you are picking up and where you are putting your feet. Litter picking can be a risky job but satisfying at the same time. Your doing a great job by the way, just the little bit you have done here can really help. As Tesco would say "Every little helps" 😋 Stay safe 🙂
