Great soul singing is a delicate balance of vocal strength and tenderness. It’s Gospel inspired music. So many try but don’t innately get it. Vanessa gets it.

What a voice! If you want some awesome gospel/soul goodness you listen to Vanessa.She holds her own.

She has the most incredible soulful voice, it is amazing to me that she isnt more known in the USA. I'm glad shes still singing though. Some other soulful tunes to check out of hers are Wolf, Heavy Lies The Head, Rise Up. There are many. There's also the beautiful ballad, Every Time I Close My Eyes. This is my absolute favorite version of Natural Woman.
