The chemicals I used: Restor-A-Finish golden oak stain Minwax ebony stain Varathane oil-based polyurethane I should have skipped the stain entirely and just added poly. This design may be worthy of an entire re-do. But it seems like a decent-enough piece of crap to share. This one was just fuck up for three reasons. 1 The wood blank wasn’t that great. The grain was subpar, it had a gloss on it,...

When you know the mission will cost your morals and your soul, but you sacrifice them anyway. Archer was a hell of a Captain!
Great job, I would love some more info on the finish. The type of product you are using, the effect they give and why you picked them, how long you would wait the coat to dry out, things like that. It will help out beginners like my self greatly!
this is an alternate version of TUVIX
Bakula carries himself well in any role he plays!!🤔. I always watch him every show he's on.😇
It seems like its Mirror Universe Archie when he said EVEN IF I HAVE TO KILL U Note to self do not piss off Archer Besides Tpol will want me to piss on her head somebody will have to tell her thats not the kind of piss I meant
Would you have liked it better if there was more contrast? After staining if it was sanded across the top to expose the lighter natural color of the wood, it might have given a different effect. Then finish with the sealer. Thanks for the video.
Lol, awesome, i was wondering when i would come across something like this when looking up wood carving.
if he truly had trip's memory, I like to think it would have been a great story arc that at the end of the episode trip had died. I mean know one would have expected that and would be shocked. And if dr. phlox would have found out a way to take something of trip's lifeless body to save sim from expiring.... A new trip that would be on a new learning curve but with all the old skills...
Fun carve
Every ship’s captain would do the same thing under the same conditions. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. If the death of one man will save the ship and her crew that so be it.
Counselor Troi had to do it in her simulation test for bridge officer.

You can appreciate why the woodcut prints of old were relatively minimal in their detail. Nice one.
Indeed. Size of the grain plays a role. I’m happy you liked it.
nice carve what kind of wood did you carve it on
Hey there. Thanks! It’s basswood.
Wanted to ask the same question...😂
Super 🎉
I’m happy you liked it :)
did you draw the picture yourself or was it a print of some type you applied
I didn’t draw it. It was a rendering of an actual photo of Gandalf himself. 😃
How thick is the coasters you chip carve?
The blanks are 3/8 inch thick. And off-camera, I apply 2mm cork.
👍
Archer is awesome
nice work
Thank you. 😊
Is that program you use on your PC Word? or some other specific? On the other hand, I have some grandchildren that I would like to make some drawings for and do you think I can use “pine wood” since “linden wood” is not available where I live. thank you for your attention 🙏
The program I used is called Pages, on my Mac. It’s not available for a Windows PC. However, I’d be really surprised if Word can’t flip an image. It’s a pretty basic feature. All I used in Pages was the “Flip Horizontally” feature, and the ruler on the sides so that I can be sure I’m printing the proper size for the piece of wood. I’ve never carved on pine. I’m not sure how well it does, or how difficult/easy it is. I’ve only used basswood for carving.
It's the first time I've seen your work and I think it's excellent, congratulations.
Здравствуйте, какое дерево вы используете для резьбы?
Hello. It’s basswood.
I really enjoyed watching you carve, my only comment was that the video being silent was a shame. How about adding some sort music to enhance the video and enhance the experience for the viewer? Just an observation. You are very good at what you do, and I would enjoy seeing more so I subbed to you today. God bless you and your loved ones. Have a great day!
That’s good feedback, and I appreciate the compliments. I’m not sure what restrictions RUclips places on music backgrounds for copyright rules and stuff, but it’s something I can look into! Thanks for your support. :)
No no no no! NO music!
@@susanp.collins7834You're the silent type, ay?
A command decision.
Hi, I really like your ideas. Would you mind sharing how/where you find your patterns and how do you transfer them to the wood? Also, the intensly staring eagle in the background is awesome. Did I miss the video on that? Thanks.
For the most part, I just search the web for photos/images of themes that come to mind. Like Star Wars or mushrooms or dachshunds. I scour through searches for pictures that could translate well to a carving, taking into account level of detail, size of cuts, and how big pieces will be in comparison to the depth of what I’m carving into. Think of stuff like “cell shading” animation. I use my mind’s eye to flip it into a carving, since the carving is shaded too (with stain). To transfer the pattern, the short answer is I use a laser printer and heat. This video I made is pretty dorky, but it explains better. ruclips.net/video/w4dvukgfC60/видео.htmlsi=hJACCUoUugVkaU8W I don’t have a video for the eagle. I made that several years ago. I’m happy you like it. :)

Good job. Thanks for sharing. I feel as is every household needs a laboratory, glad to see yours. Love to know there are people creating new things.
Making things is satisfying. I’ve also been knitting a bunch of beanies for winter coming. I’m trying to keep doing both knitting and carving. :) Thanks for watching. I’m glad you liked it.
Impressive! So simple. What kind of wood?
It’s basswood. Thank you. :)
Why do you keep referring to Trip as Sim? Did you ever even watch the series?
Me? What? Are you referring to my written description of the clip? Or are you referring to the clip itself? That’s not the original Trip in the clip. That was his clone.
What are you talking about??
How do you do your design transfer? It looks amazing
A laser printer, and some heat. Here’s a 3ish minute video of me doing it. ruclips.net/video/w4dvukgfC60/видео.html I use that handheld tool. But in a pinch, a clothes iron would also work.
Awesome! I will make a set of coasters like this for my man-cave. Thank you for sharing.
Good idea. :) I’m happy you liked it.

Hello! No, I use a laser printer. And a "pattern transfer tool." The tool heats up the toner on the paper and the toner adheres to the wood. Here's my video describing it: ruclips.net/video/w4dvukgfC60/видео.htmlsi=CFShQFMJxT0NbFXT

Hey there! Thanks. :)
Hi! What wood is that? And the tool? How long it took?
It’s basswood. There was a lot of waiting for the stain and finish to dry, but the carving took about an hour I think.
