Great work man Iam from South Africa wanting to the same path currently having a garage gym and iam also a personal trainer would like some tips
Great, great setup! I love it! When you painted your equipment, did you have to sand it down first? I’d like to paint my cybex equipment but not sure how to go about it.
Thank you! yes i sand it down just to the base coat so the new paint has something to stick to. I try to do an even sand so the new primer/ paint i add can fill out any gouges or scratches in the paint. Then i paint and if its a piece I'm going to keep for a long time ill put clear coat on it too. I have not had a problem doing it either way or can tell a difference other then have a gloss finish.
sick af brotha 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you💪
I love all the pieces you have in your gym, only machine I wouldn't have would be that hip machine, takes up a lot of room. I'm in the process of starting my own gym, I have 2 storages filled up. I'm just trying to figure out what the next step is, I tend to overthink everything. I wish nothing but success for your gym, I will continue to follow a long.
Awesome that's the way to do it. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. I have the hip machine because i have a lot of female clients that love it. Good luck with your gym!
That was my exact problem. Thank you so much ❤❤
Dang man your picky looked good to me
Amazing work brother!!
Hi there can I ask I have the same gym below your wall fan I have some rust on it especially the leg pulley section and powder coating is peeling any advise on it and how to fix it Shed leaked and I didn’t realise till I unpacked the shed and found this disaster pls can you help
Hey @GypsiiSOUL That no big deal i would just mask off the rest and sand the rusted area then paint it with a similar colored spray paint. I just used the Krylon grey and it matched up pretty good. It does not need to be perfect but will help the metal from pitting over time.
Looks great. I’ve done several pieces and on occasion I’ve run into a substance on the metal that resists paint, maybe Armor all or oil so I always wipe everything down with acetone before painting. Tractor supply sells nuts and bolts by the pound so cleaning old bolts is not something I do. Love the gun metal, I’m going to use that on a half rack I’m doing.
I usually sand my equipment down first to get a better hold so I have not experienced that too much. Awesome I would love to see the finished project!
Nice job!
Thank you!
Did you grind the metal then repaint or did you paint over the paint? Great job
I would scuff it our with a scotch bright pad and then clean it with a spirit to remove grease or oil then primer then paint
He also says he sanded it before repainting it
Subbed. Primarily because not only are you the only person who actually lift weights with this stuff but your the o lay one who has a video talking about it! Appreciate the info, because I thought this stuff was a gimmick. I could not find anyone that explained if it worked for benching, but bought a roll out of curiosity. I will try it out tomorrow and let you know what I think about it bro. Stay blessed everyone and keep Christ 1st and the rest last
Great job man! Looks awesome! What kind of paint did you use and how is it holding up?
