This Simple Log Bench SELLS!
Join us as we build a simple faux half log style bench using six 2x6s cut from three pieces of 2x6x12 lumber. Each 2x6 for this build is cut at six feet (72"). Four of the six boards have a straight edge rip on both sides while the two others have a straight edge rip on one side and a 30° rip on the other. We ended up screwing the first 4 boards together with wood glue and used only glue on the two outside boards, you won't see the screws anyways. A hand planer was used to give the bottom edge and sides of the bench a rounded look to replicate a half log. The legs were made using a cedar pole but you could make them from any type of lumber. You could use a wood putty to seal the seams fro...

Rustic Bunk Bed Build | FULL Size!
Просмотров 620Месяц назад
Join us as we build a rustic cedar pole bunk bed using simple tools. We ended up changing the top railing mid way through the video to give more room for the mattress. This is a style we haven't done before (with the logs on the outside of the railing) but it turned out pretty good, at least I think so. Thanks for watching! The SMALLEST Picnic Table I've built this year! | SOLD
Просмотров 6784 месяца назад
Join me as I build ANOTHER picnic table. This is the smallest picnic table I have built this year coming in at 6 foot long. 6 foot tables are pretty average, however I don't make very many of them. Does size matter? Most of the picnic tables I build are 8 feet in length but I do make them smaller when requested. 8 foot tables are more popular than 6 foot ones in my area. I built a SUPER small 5...

Wood Torched Rustic American Flag | EASY Woodworking Project

Another easy woodworking project that doesn't require any advanced tools. You can use a router tool for carving out the stars but I just used spray paint. It's a big time saver and still looks really nice after putting a finish on. These can take a little more time to make then some of our other projects on the channel because of the torching and staining of the wood but is definitely worth it!...

Not Your Typical Picnic Table

Building ANOTHER picnic table using cedar logs. While not as popular as metal or two-by-frame picnic tables, these tables can support as least twice as much weight. The weight of the frame alone, along with the angles of its legs, makes it nearly impossible to tip over, even when several people are seated on one side. Cedar is an extremely rot-resistant wood. Nice design. When attaching with lag bolts, do you pilot drill 50% of bolt diameter the receiving timber to give space for the bolt or is bolt forcing itself blind into receiving timber?

      @@JohnColgan. Thank you! I'm forcing the bolts through with an impact. I'll usually hammer the bolts in a quarter inch so the logs won't move around on me then impact it down.

    Could you tell us the measurements for the top part I started the build but want it to look right thank you

    • @rusticwoodshop
      @rusticwoodshop 4 месяца назад

      @@dilliongray1002 That depends on the width you used for the box frame in the beginning. For example, if you had an 18" x 18" frame regardless of height you would need one 2 x 2 at 18" long and another at 16.5" for the butt joint, that's how I've been making them. Feel free to experiment and find what size you like best since we all have different tastes. Hope this helps!

      @@thedbcooperforum Thanks for the reply. $85 is on the cheaper side and sounds like a great deal! Our smaller ones are $120 and our bigger ones are $20 more. I've sold 15-20 the last two months but a lot of people in my area have well water so they use them to cover up a well head, that may be a reason.

      Hey there! This wasn't meant to be a how to or step by step kind of video but more of a "watch and learn" to show you that you don't need any fancy tools, joints, or cuts to build these. Measurements here are irrelevant, you can make them any size you want to! It's more about the simple design and layout more than anything. If you want specific measurements for the box frame in the beginning feel free to send me an email, it's in the description. Thanks for the comment. 🙂
