Mental health is important. Maybe her energy was low and she needed a boost.

When I am sick... I go to work. When I really need a day for something special, then I use one of my 5 sick days. However, the fact that we/I feel guilty about 'lying'. The 5 sick days should be 'Don't ask/don't tell!'. That's human(e).

People in the US dont get enough vacation leave so of course they use sick days for this stuff Teachers also have to deal with some serious BS so honestly mental health is a valid reason to take a sick day

I thought sickdays were suppose to be used when sick and it is not yours to use as you please? In my country we meassure the quality of a working space with the less people are sick the happier they are at work. This motivates the employer just as much as the employee.

ur days for when u are "sick" shld be of no concern to the business.. she shldnt hv to justify that to anyone...mybe she just wanted to blow off steam? maybe she was burnt out.. why does it matter?

Sick days are supposed to be no questions asked they are for physical and mental health and sometimes doing something fun is necessary for good mental health

When I first got my discharge, I was lost. Military life is orderly and structured. Civilian life is just the opposite, it's never ending chaos, there is zero structure , zero order. It took me years to adjust to how things are. I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones that did not end up homeless and without an income.
