Would 1098 be restore once again.
would CP 1098 run on the Hooser Valley Railroad and also The CSX Santa Train,
CB&Q 3 Chime is just heaven
Dynamo sounds a bit different from how it does now
Awesome coverage. Love the sound of that Burlington 3
Awesome catches
How many coaches for both trains near the end of the video
Apparently 1098 now 225 is due to be put back in service once 425s work is done
i dont think so shes pretty much gutted and really the only routes she would be good for is LGSR shorter excursions out of reading or tamaqua or possibly the reading to pottsville train but i really dont expect her to return but we dont know what the future holds
@@Strasburg_Railfaner611 that’s the plan Jim Thorpe
Apparently this engine is set to be restored and could be running by 2024 or 2025
I don't see it happening. It's on static display at R&N's Reading Outer Station along Rt. 61. It would make a nice smaller steam locomotive for the Gorge trains. R&N took over Rail Tours, Inc.'s tourist operation in 2005 and started a new route into the Lehigh Gorge. George Hart's operation only went to Nesquehoning, Hauto, Hometown Trestle, or Haucks over the CNJ branch. R&N relaid track over the ex-CNJ bridge to connect with the ex-Lehigh Valley line into the Lehigh Gorge. The ex-CNJ is a rail trail north of Glen Onoko. After 1985 Rail Tours mainly used diesels on the tourist trains except for when 1098 ran like in 1994, the 972 was sent to Strasburg for work around 1986 and eventually became their property because George couldn't afford to pay for the restoration. It now sits disassembled on one of their back tracks. I rode behind 972 three times, around 1984 with my late dad's mom to Nesqehoning and back, fall 1985 to Haucks and back with my late mom and dad, and the CNJ RS3 #1554 was on the train and powered the return trip and 972 again in December 1985 on a Santa train to Nesquehoning. My father passed March 8, 1986 and my mom June 14, 2022 in the hospital because her lungs were bad.
@@robkrasinski6217 that’s where it’s going run
@@jeremylando40 Forgive me for asking, but where did you get your information that there is consideration in getting #225 (#1098) running again? I'm genuinely curious.
@ a dude that knows Andy Mueller
@@jeremylando40 First, well, if that is a true source, that's pretty reputable. Second, would the plan still call for that to happen after #425 is up and running again? If so, I'm expecting it may very well be 2026 or so before #225 runs again (provided #425 is running in 2025) based off where things stand (to the best of my knowledge). Third, (solely out of curiosity) would the plan call for keeping #225 in her current number, or could she keep the same paint scheme but have her original number (#1098) restored?
425: I'll be back!
Maybe 2102 and 425 should both visit Steamtown one day after the Four and a Quarter returns from her 1472 Day FRA Boiler and Inspection first!
That Star Brass 3 Chime sounds epic on 1098 now known as R&N 225!
I wish I rode the BM&R in the 1980's. I love it! Especially #425.
Hard to believe the tracks 1098 is running on has now since become a bike trail. Shame
No ...the bike trail parallels the tracks from Jim Thorpe to Glen Onoko and all the way to Penn Haven.

5:01
I love how #2102 use the whistle of B&M #3713
3710
Beautiful Reading 6 Chime
Es igual que Reading & Northern #425
No lo es
I miss her older look with the high mounted headlight and the Baldwin round number plate than her current look as of now. She looks more prettier than she use to be.
Well Maybe 425 Can Have The High Lightbulb Again After Her FRA Inspection.
@@bnsfrailwayfan5997 That might be an eventual possibility. But we’ll see.
@@bnsfrailwayfan5997 we are not sure about that
Imagine 2102 doubleheading with 765 one day!
ew
Steamtown could really put on a show when they tried
I miss 2317, and that's the best whistle 425 ever wore
Is the track ever noisy….almost noisier than engine
The engine is usually noisier
In four months, we get to hear her again!!!!! For the first time in 31 years, Reading 2102 will breath fire and smoke, and her thunder will echo in the canyons of Pennsylvania! God bless Andy Muller and the Reading and Northern for keeping her spirit alive!!
Where is she now
It’s too bad the PRR E8’s are gone. One is in Missouri and the other is a wedding chapel in Alabama. This is 425’s last year before it’s mandatory teardown and inspection. Hopefully 2102 will return this year while 425 is running. Then we will see 2102 live in Jim Thorpe for the first time since October, 1988. I have 2102 and 425 on Trainz simulator, they are by K&L Trainz. I’m working on extending the R&N route and I incorporated it into a larger route with Allentown, NJ, and the line to Philly which are NS now.
But not on the ex-PRR line, on the ex-Reading side from RBMN’s Reading Outer Station north toward Port Clinton and beyond. It ran on that track in 1991 before it stopped running.
2102 will be back!
Yeah,this year too
6:17 Canadian Pacific 1098 whistle.
i hoped that 2102 and 425 will double run in 2022
9:09 9:20 10:42 11:22 whistling sounds amazing

Great video 😊 📸
Epic
18:08 that was the whistle featured in the berkshire productions videos Blue mountain and reading and 2102: an american northern
It also was heard in alternative version of I love toy trains 5 when we see the Chicago and Alton 659 in the same shot from toy train accessories without text.
I wonder what happened to the Hamburg-Temple line now?
Quite a surprise that 28 years after this happened another steam engine would do almost the same run as 2102 did in 1991. That steamer being New Hope & Ivyland 40 btw

In what year did this move take place?
I think it was 1991
Wish mainline steam excursion operations will just come back to life under steam again in the future! It's just upsetting how they aren't like this anymore, not even on Amtrak, Septa, NJ Transit, Norfolk Southern, CSX and in the United States.
You skipped the best part from when he opened her up on the hill and all the good whistling🙄🙄🙄🧐🧐🧐🧐
The run prior from Hamburg to Shoemakersville was the best on the BM&R that morning including the slip to a stop pulling into Shoemakersville. Charlie Kachel had an opps.
That whistle is a Hancock 3 Chime on 2102, and it sounds like 611, 844 and 1522!
At 1:56 is a Boston & Maine 6 Chime whistle
But at 27:49 is a Hancock 3 Chime whistle
Wish 425 will one day come back again to pull Steamtown excursions, maybe from Scranton to Delaware Water Gap.
Somebody should have yelled at the stupid kid waving to everyone under the sun and blocking the view
with 425 running and 2102 expected to be back in the coming months I don't see Reading and Northern ever rebuilding 1098 know renumbered as 225
How much does it cost to ride in the cab of 425?
I love this engine. It’s whistle sounds so Erie
