    Did you know that if you are using Routegadget to generate your route trace, to stop it showing in the video, you can pull down the transparency of the trace to 0 in the routegadget sliders? Thanks for keeping posting the videos 👍

    Thanks for sharing your event. I am having so many issues trying to compile everything together to make a video. Using quickroute was fairly easy. Learning that i needed avidemux or capcut to splice the dumb multiple gopro videos together came next. Then came the learning curve of orientview to combine quickroute and the headcam…eventually got it. But…after trying to make all sorts of adjustments to the final route of my last event…the first 6 controls were punched at the exact moment in the video…but then the next three the video punch was almost two minutes before my track shows me at the control…and those are in spots that i cant move them…ie…ends of long doglegs that were both in and out. Then my battery died…so now i have a 1:25:00 video with a 1:55:00 run, which orientview cant respond to correctly…sheesh…

    Buen vídeo, en el primer control se sale el cursor del mapa. ¿Podrías subir un vídeo explicando como utilizas adobe premiere para realizar los videos? Me gustaría aprender. O si sabes algun tutorial o pagina para empezar a hacerlo. Se utilizar quickroute. Pero no adobe premiere. Exportar el archivo xml de quickroute? Con que items? Gracias amigo.

    1-2 wouldve worked well from the trail junction at the sharp bend in the road you used to get to 1, down the small re-entrant with less of a slope, and no lateral navigation.

      The best route would probably to run north of the restricted area.

    Es freut mich sehr zu sehen, wie du im Gelände anhand meiner Karte deine Strecke gefunden hast! Und zu sehen, wie du manche meiner Routenideen umsetzt: Ich vermute, du hast kurz vor Posten 5 die kleinen gelben und weißen Flecken im dunklen Grün bewusst als Passagen genutzt. Das würde auf jeden Fall FÜR die Mühe sprechen, die hinter der Erstellung all dieser Flecken steht. Auch die einzelnen "markanten" Kiefern schienen mir für die Orientierung auf diesem Teilabschnitt hilfreich zu sein. Für mich ist es auf jeden Fall wunderschön in diesem Video mit anzusehen, wie exzellent man deinen Lauf in der Karte mitlesen kann! Danke!

      Hallo Karsten, danke für dein positives Feedback zu meinem Lauf. Ich habt bei dem 24 Stunden OL alles richtig gemacht. Sogar das Wetter war trocken und nicht zu warm. Die Karte war meiner Meinung nach sehr aktuell und auch mit allen Details versehen. Die großen einzelnen Kiefern waren in den Kahlschlägen sehr gut zu erkennen. Auch die Grünbereiche haben sehr gut gepasst. Ich habe bei der Kartenaufnahme dort auch immer meine Probleme, das richtige Grün zu nehmen. Nur das Laufen war im Kahlschlag nicht so einfach und hat einige blaue Flecken gekostet. Hoffentlich wird hier in den nächsten Jahren nicht noch mehr Fläche gerodet. Eine empfehlenswerte Veranstaltung!!!!!

    I do not understand the concept of two different map versions on the same sheet for the same course. Can you clarify? Thanks. Also...where was your compass when you needed it to go to #1? 🤔😄

    • @christian_rietze
      @christian_rietze 3 месяца назад

      The 24 hours OL is a fun run. The first 6 courses have different themes. The upper map is the rigth map and the lower map ist the map with the them. By this rus was the theme „old vs young“. The lower map is from october 2006. It is explained realy good in the bulletin: „These courses deal with the basics for producing orienteering maps as well as with older map visualisations. The fundamentals are based on data collected by the land surveying offices (of the federal states) using the LIDAR (light detection and ranging) method, which is made available to end users and can be analysed using the OCAD software. With the help of this data, a geo-referenced and precise picture of the terrain can be obtained even before the first inspection of the area. The upper part of the themed courses sheets (in portrait format A4) contains the current map with the course to be run. The lower part of the A4 sheet shows the corresponding map base with the current course. A comparison is worthwhile, especially the TH1 ‘Digital terrain model’ can be used as an interesting training opportunity. TH2 ‘Surface model’, TH3 ‘Orthophoto’ and TH4 ‘Vegetation heights’ are unfortunately not completely up-to-date due to current forestry activities. This topic is addressed with TH5 ‘Map from 2015’ and TH6 ‘Map from 2006’. Always comply with the copyrights of the data providers when using basic data to produce orienteering maps!“ To Post 1: I thought, that I know the right direction without compass and mad at the beginning this biggest mistake.

    I do not see the scale for distance between north lines…usually it spans either two, or three…

    • @christian_rietze
      @christian_rietze 4 месяца назад

      At 99% of sprint runs I don't need a compass. Therefore the north lines aren`t so important to me. If I ever need to point the map to north, I only have a handheld compass with me. A compass like this is helpful because your hands are free. I always try to fold the map so that I only see the current route up to the next 2-3 items.

    🥉 place, and even 🥇🏆in general classification! Congrats!! 9:25 welcome to the jungle of Götzdorf 😄. You were not the only one struggling there. Your route to 6 was really good! Almost completely straight on the line. How did you know about control 14? Because you already seemed to know it was on that wrong place.

      Thanks! I have already seen on the way from post 10 to 11 that post 14 is not in the right place. When the other runners came from the side when I ran towards to post 14, I thought to myself that it could be post 14.

    This was a good run in a nice terrain. Not too difficult, but 🥉, that's well done! No electronical punching, I like that. I think, if you would prepare a little more, I mean like look/plan ahead, you can still win some time. For example, running on the path to cp2, you can already decide to run back on the same path to cp3. Then you can immediately turn around and run further after punching. Same for some other controls. Every control win 5 seconds is a minute in the end (and 🥈 here or even more). But all in all, you did really well and made no real mistakes, which is most important, can be proud of yourself!

      At the moment I am better at sprint, because I don't have much experience with the compass. Orienteering is my new sport with I started in August 2021. I think, that I don't run so bad.

    Well done! This is impressive, so many controls! It must feel like orienteering heaven. But must be difficult to keep the focus and concentration for such a long time: more than 2 hours! Really needs 'Ausdauer'. Well done! Second half was for many parts like a group training: following each other and sometimes others following you. Note: winner was an hour faster than you. That's incredibly fast. Must be really good orienteer..

      Yes, it's a fun run. But in the end you're happy when you're done. Next year there will be 115 posts. One more every year.

    I think almost all orienteers know what it is/ know the feeling of running around for 10 minutes without knowing where you are or where to go, like you had at control 2. With GPS position on the map here in video it's all so logical and easy to recognize features and where you are, but as said, I think most of us have (had) the same now and then. Always bad when it happens, definitely when it's so early in the race. Need to be mentally strong to go on, focus again, not feel down and not trying too hard to regain lost time ( which leads to even more mistakes). You seemed to do that really well here! Rest of the race was in general quite ok/good, maybe some not optimal routechoices and little timeloss/mistake @ 20, but not too bad. So well done again!

      Thanks for your help. I always try to look ahead during acompetitions. I can´t change the maded mistakes.

      @@christian_rietze as I said, I think all orienteers know and recognize that. But it's also exactly what is the fun of it. Otherwise we could better do cross country running. Countless times I've also lost minutes or even 15 minutes or more with parallel mistakes/90 or 180 degree mistakes. Once I even thought my compass was broken, when I was so sure I was very close to the control, but it didn't match with the compass. So ran around like 10 minutes before I found out it was not the compass that was wrong but I myself was wrong 😄. Btw: you didn't miss 9th control here, as is in the description, did you?

    What a nice town! Lot of elevation changes here. I've been in Wernigerode 12 years ago, think that's not too far from here, there was also a castle/Schloss there, it looks a bit like that. Yeah, mistake like that can happen, afterwards you may think, how could I have forgotten to punch, especially when you see the control in this video, but it happens sometimes. When did you find out this mistake? After finish?

    Not bad at all! 8th cp you correct yourself in time, so you didn't lose too much time, which is good. Overall good performance, now and then it looks a bit uncertain and you hesitate (too much), but no big mistakes.👍 Keep it up! You will get better each time, the more experience you have, the better/faster you will become. Especially when you look back/analyse your videos.

    Well done! 🥉😀 Try to always keep it easy, where possible, to win some more time. Your running speed is really good! First minute of the video I thought it was like 2x speed, but it's real 😉. Part around controls 6-7-8 bit hard to follow on the map in this video, but you found them. 👍

    Noticed from this video you run with map "North up", if you haven’t found out yet(?) it is much easier / better to run always keeping the map "pointing" to North, then, what you see on the map matches what you see on the ground and vice-versa. Great new channel! :)

    Gps not very accurate in some places. Happy for you the sun came the last few minutes. Must have felt great. Nevertheless you deserve a warm shower after this run. Thanks for taking us with you again.

    What happened to 13? Just forgot it? And when did you find out? After 12 the first 50 meters you seem to go in correct direction, but then go to left (14). That weather! Soaking wet!
