Well, bad news: Coca-Cola dropped an AI video, and I've seen a ton of AI-generated Christmas ads everywhere! Etsy, conventions... it's crazy how much AI art there is...... not everyone sees a soul in art like it used before, consumers sees pretty colors they buy....

I remember something a artist said when they were applying to a job in a video "While technique is important, what studios is looking for in an artist is creative. How they project they ideas and invoke feelings is what really makes an artist, the technique is just there to make your ideas clear". It's was not those exact words but is something that stick with me and is what makes me believe that AI is never gonna replace us.

i have the same one and it DOES HAVE palm rejection with the original pencil

This is why i never post any of my trace drawing(not ai) i use it to understand some part i wanna learn like hand/hair/ear/full body/clothes shade/etc :3 i wanna learn to be a good artist with original art :D

I think it might have less use in the future, but more spread. I can see how a pro artist could use it to do the same in less time. Like "I wanna do the background but I have two ideas that are different and I would like seeing how they could look whitout spending the time I would normally use" and comparing. Or for example a intermidiate artis wanting to practices how to shadow the abdomen without worrying about sketching 10 or 20 abdomens in different positions.

wheresyouredat actually has solid material and economic reasons. The sheer money being pumped in, with no apparent way to earn it back, is insane. There's also the electric cost. It's a huge bubble, and while it might be worrying to see it pop for some, it'll be a night for human artists to remember.

I’ll be honest, my art has always felt lacking in any “soul,” but I still enjoyed the sensations of making it… but even AI art appears to have more soul than mine since it’s scraped from a well of artists who did achieve that soul. 😢 I look at so many Pinterest images and see people reacting to AI art with true enthusiasm and I can’t help but wonder if that’s not pretty darn close to having its own value regardless of the human touch. Even if I hate it and how it’s built, I can’t help but see my own lack as similar and greater than that of AI…! 😅

Also, it's way more rewarding to make something on your own and spend a lot of time on it than to throw a prompt into a generator and have it make a cool looking (debatable about cool but that's besides the point) picture for you. Art is so much more than something pretty to look at.

It can’t replace all artist. I just hate that it can replace almost everyone. For months I was going through a very depressing phase realising that i will never be able to turn my art skills into a career. Until i started thinking about why it is i do art. It was never about the money❤️‍🩹
