I enjoy watching your work. Allowing that little cat to be below those tiny flakes that are falling on it and it looking up as you whack that chert is really bordering on abuse. How much trouble is it to just make him stay away while you are working? You seem to like him but perhaps just don't realize how you are endangering his eyes.
Very nice . Quick sold . I'll own one by 2025
This video was a joy from start to finish! Thanks so Much!
that's a awesome point
You do a very nice job of thinning down your work piece. Seems like every strike is productive. Nice work!
@@stephenfields6236 thank you!
Brad, can you tell me the shape of your Indirect copper flaker used to remove the flute flake? Does it have a “flat” point, or is it rounded for fluting?. I have used a “rounded tip flaker. When I strike the platform, the rounded head sees only partial removal of the platform and a partial flute flake. Is my problem the shape of my flaker tool, or have I failed to create “deep and sufficiently” long guide release flakes either side of the flute platform?
That thing got flat in a hurry! Good job
Good to see you Very helpful videos
That’s awesome
Thanks for sharing Brad. Can't wait to see what you make from those bi faces.
Thanks for sharing the video
Thanks for the video.
man it is so easy to do that when notching a point!
Nice point work! Placing the book where you can see the point you are copying is good. I’m sure the ancient ones blew off a barb now and then too. Where was the cat?
Great Video! LOVE SEEING MATERIAL FROM MY NECK OF.THE WOODS BEING USED SO WELL!
looks great bro thanks for the video
Hi kewl art..bravo ; i cant break rock , but ,at least once i got alittle fed up...all this work pain and luck to make a projectile...blood war ect. What other forms would be more fun to make ? Can you make me an octupi. ? Or starfish ? And thinking of jewelery...do i really want " razor sharp ". How would you dull it enough for o.s.h.a....we shoud chat...maybe i got 50 $ for " experiments"
That shaped up lickity split! Looks like great material. ❤
@@phillockwood8414 thanks Phil! It’s definitely a different animal.
Thanks for the video bud.
@@clintevans3886 very welcome!😁
Thanks for the video.
How long ya been knapping?
@@devinpinnon4209 a little over 3 yrs.
I’ve noticed. If you don’t hit the flint river hard enough it likes to create those little trashy steps lol. Drives me crazy. But man when you get it right this material is so sweet.
Exactly 👍
I love watching you punch notch. I really have to learn this.
@@Tradbow85 thanks! It was a game changer for me. I haven’t pressured in a notch in months 😆
So is convexity more important than how low or high your edge is?
@@artichoke890 I would say yes. But your edge height is very important as well. I think platform or edge strength, convexity, support and swing speed are all equally important. The key is being able to recognize everything and adjust each strike on the fly. I really think that just comes with time and practice. Hope that helps.
Very nice work fella. I have got to get me some more of that material.
@@clintevans3886 Thanks Clint!
Casually doing this over your cat is crazy
@@rattlerboi4034 I know right
@@Bradmoore1979 lol
Great notching bro!
@@GulfCoastKnapping thank ya! I learned it from a buddy of mines video😉
Nice!
@@GulfCoastKnapping Thanks Jake!👍
Very Nice Lost Lake Brad. I hope you feel better soon man. My daughter has been in the hospital all week. May get released tomorrow if her tests come back good. She couldn't sleep for the beeping of the machines so I said I've got something for you to fall asleep to. Just so happens you posted a video. She's got my other earbud in and almost asleep now and I'm not hardly halfway through the video. Thank you for being patient with me Brad. You don't know how appreciative i really am.
Praying for your daughter
@@RedEyedPatriot no worries my friend. I’m praying for your daughter.
Thanks for the video.
@@paulshurmon138 you’re welcome. Thanks for watching!🤙
Good evening how you doing
@@richardnunley1742 doing well. Thanks Richard.
This video really help me out being a new knapper. the grove on end of tool really helped
great info, your cat loves knapping
awesome hunt!!!!!!
Watching this a year later and Zooming In on the video picture revealed a good deal more information. I now see my mistake(s). I go too aggressively to THIN using Indirect Percussion. Then I have too thin of edges remaining and moreover, thinning really flattens the faces greatly reducing CONVEXITY.
Good video for sure
How much do you charge for making a similar “Dove Tail” point?
@@stephenfields6236 usually between 60$-80$.
Brad thank you so much for posting this. Been waiting to see fully finished point made from the material I sent your way and it did not disappoint. I’ve been busy with lots of school work as of late so haven’t had time for youtube. Plus i’ve been expanding my collection of artifacts quite a bit. I’ll be recording some videos soon. Did a good job with that challenging stuff. Plus Noods 👍😂
I’ll be sending an email your way. Sorry for neglecting to talk to you… No excuses for that.
@@John-M. thanks bud. No worries! Sounds like you had your priorities in line. 👍
Nice job Brad!
@@dannystephenshiking951 thank you!
If you thought that it looked like a bird, so did the Indian. I make them on purpose. I’m sure you do too. I’m thinking old 🐦⬛. Easy to make into a necklace. I make necklaces constantly. When I walk into church with a peace dove I know I better have something else in my pockets to give the kids.
Thanks for the video.
Very interesting! I'm sure I have just picked up some and threw there back down.
Nice work, never have tried to knapp that stuff
