No 2409 King George and 604 Phantom at the Didcot Railway Centre
A visit to the Didcot Railway Centre in Didcot, Oxfordshire near Didcot Parkway Station on Saturday 14th September 2024.
Had a steam train ride with No 2409 King George, from Eynsham Station to Oxford Road Station (and later a return journey).
Did see 604 Phantom from Burlescombe Station to Didcot Halt (renamed temporarily to Adlestrop). But didn't get to ride this diesel train, as the volunteers were on their break.

The August Bank Holiday Sunday 25th August 2024. I saw some times for when The Shakespeare Express would pass stations in Solihull, so got the no 4 bus up from Solihull Town Centre, with time to spare to see The Shakespeare Express pass Olton Station with 7029 Clun Castle. The Shakespeare Express from Vintage Trains on Sunday 21st July 2024 flies past Solihull Station two minutes early at 13:18 BST between Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham Snow Hill. I later saw 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe when I arrived at Birmingham Moor Street around 13:47 BST.

Got the train on the Wolverhampton via Birmingham New Street to Walsall line, from Birmingham New Street to Witton. Dan Acher's Borealis was held at the Bullring in Birmingham from the 9th to 18th February 2024. This visit from the evening of the 18th February 2024. University Station to Five Ways Station on the Cross City Line in under 3 minutes

The rebuilt University Station is due to be opened by the end of January or beginning of February 2024 after the ORR gave permission for them to open. So one last visit to the station before then (using the old entrance). Got the train one way to Birmingham New Street, and recorded the journey to the next stop at Five Ways Station through leafy Edgbaston.

I was going to get the 15:43 Chiltern Railways service from Birmingham Moor Street to Solihull to avoid the Birmingham City Centre Christmas traffic. Then had time to see the Polar Express arriving at platform 4 with 7029 Clun Castle at the front. And 20 189 at the back.

Urbos 3 and Urbos 100 look quite similar. More of the newer trams out in service now. Both made by CAF.
HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century. Excellent news that the Eastern leg & the Golborne link have been scrapped & fingers crossed, the rest of this monstrous vanity project will never see the light of day.
Been waiting since it was announced in 2009. The 2026 date seemed unrealistic. Hope it reaches London Euston, and not Old Oak Common when it first opens.
@@ellrbrown .. Euston has been "mothballed" for at least 2 years - even if it does go ahead, it'll be at least 2041 before it opens. Reading between the lines & listening to the doom & gloom coming from HS2 Ltd, it's highly unlikely that Euston will become the main London terminus.

No problem. They are building all those concrete triangles for a viaduct at the moment, which I think will cross over the Digbeth Branch Canal. There is also Victorian viaducts they need to cross over as well.

I have been all the way to Wolverhampton St George's, but won't video it. Mostly take photos. Only small sections, short videos.

Nice walk Just beware of inconsiderate dog owners with dog running wild.
I've only been a couple of times to the Harborne Walkway. Last time went as far as the Hagley Road. There was dog walkers and cyclists. It is now mapped and has a project at Birmingham Gems. www.birminghamgems.com/kms/dmart.aspx?strTab=MapGroup&PageType=item&filter_MapGroupId=25

Probably a lullaby (I'm not sure to be honest). It was recorded on my old Fugi camera about 7 years ago, which was in SD only (not HD).
I lived on park hill road, I now believe the railway bridge is closed for maintenance
