Why thanks for sharing ... your design is a lot simpler than mine... you beautiful soul ❤️ ♥️ 💕 💖
Thank you for posting this! I love your positivity and it helped me to figure out how to do a bunch of home projects I need to do!
Great video thxs
Good job. I think I will use the same method but put the pocket hole screws on the inside of the drawer. I know they won't show either way. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this. Good job helping, Teague!
Impressive free-hand routing! How'd you get the edge straight without a jig or guide?
Thank you! The secret is in the bit. The round over and cove bit both had a Glide Radius Bearing that helped move the bit in a straight line using the wood as a guide. Hope this helps you. Keep doing good!
Could you tell me more about the metal slides that you used. Where did you get them? What are they called? Thanks a bunch.
Hey Ashley, the slides I used were Metal Drop leaf supports from Rockler. You can purchase them on their website at Rockler.com. I love this store!
What type of wood and glue did you use for this project?
Great video! I’m new to this so I would appreciate some education on this. I noticed you fastened the desk rail to the desktop using the Craig’s tool. I was wondering if it was also possible to fasten the desk rail to the desktop without the craig’s tool using a screw that goes all the way through the deskrail wood piece (perpendicular instead of at an angle). Thank you!
Hey Superstar! That would absolutely work. Don’t forget to pre-drill the holes which helps the screw to fall straight down into the table top. Also stay clear of the rail screws. One would not want a hardware “traffic jam“!😉 Keep Doing Good!!👍
@@thedogoodproject7355 you are the best! Thank you! Keep doing good 😁
Can you list all the tools you used in this project as well as screws and hinges
Hey Aaron, no problem! Here is what I used: Skill 2-HP plunge router Cove bit round over bit V groove bit Rockler Metal drop leaf supports Woodworker Drop Leaf Hinges 3" x 1 - 1/4" I hope that helps you out with what you wanted to know. Keep working on your projects and go Do Good!👍
Wow that's dope dya
I'm building a kitchen island and need to add a drop leaf on one side. The height of the counter is 36". What would you recommend is the maximum width of the drop leaf, just under 36"? Also, what type of support would you recommend. Thanks.
Hey Stan, that is a fantastic idea adding a drop leaf to a kitchen island. I would say the width of the drop leaf should match the width of the width of the counter top. However, the leaf extension that is fastened to the island top can be as long as the height of the island provided it has very strong supports and doesn't touch the floor. The supports for the leaf depends mostly on the length and weight of the leaf. I used Rockler metal drop leaf supports but you also can try swivel brackets. If you think the leaf is going to hold a lot of weight, I would suggest folding legs. They can be stored underneath the leaf and if your leaf has an apron around the outer edges the legs would be hidden. Those are a few of my recommendations but there are also many other ways. So, find what works best for you. I am excited for your build and hope everything turns out great. Keep doing Good!!👍
Thanks been looking for this for a while. It will help me with my new set up.
You seemed to be a family friendly youtuber:)

Wow. So at first I just thought this was an awesome how to video, but then she hits us with some wisdom at 3:09 and now I want to be her best friend. What an incredible person!
Wow, thank you, that’s very kind! It’s your turn friend, go out and do good -we need you too!😉👍
hey! would it make sense to couple every hinge you attach, to use the same amount of leaf supports? the table i plan to modify will extend along the length of the table and i will be using the table mainly for my laptop and meals. I just want to make sure there will be enough support , should i put my arms on it with additional pressure. thanks :)
Hi Amy! The more support the better. It definitely can't hurt if you couple every hinge with a support. There are different types of supports you can use for the leaves. There are sliding metal supports (the ones I used) and supports you can fasten to the table legs. Choose which one that you think will work best for you! Keep doing good!
Thank you! Had to watch this three times but I think I got it. Going to have to try it on two test pieces.
Is it ventilated? I would like to make my office a place to do my nails.
This closet was not ventilated but if yours is it could be a good fit!👍
👍👍
Thanks...I was wondering how to measure the miter!
Hi Sandi, great question! Here is what I try to do with the miter when I work with chair rails and baseboards. 1. Cut the piece 3-4” longer than what you need. 2. Miter both ends of the piece. 3. Position the piece correctly where you need it knowing the other end will be longer. 4. Mark the longer end where you think you need to cut the miter and then add an inch. 5. Miter the piece at that extra inch mark. 6. Check to see if the piece fits. If it doesn’t, slightly trim it again and check that fit. You may have to do this several times before you get a good fit. I hope this helps you on your project. I know miters can be frustrating but be patient and take your time. You will get it! I have another video that may help you a bit too. It is a 'baseboard shortcut secret' at ruclips.net/video/qaRtkWwabAY/видео.html Keep DOING GOOD!
So I'm working to build a smaller one with longer arms as extra cookie decorating space with some drawers in it. I have an idea in mind that I'm going to sketch out. How sturdy will these types of tables be just using the leaf supports? Should I make extra legs?
You have a great idea, what a fun project! My table was pretty sturdy using my sliding leaf support. However, I would ask if the drop leaf table design is a good fit for using a sliding leaf support, an apron leaf support, or even a triangle hinge swing support. I needed to use a sliding leaf support for my project since my design did not include an inside apron. If you want to include drawers in the center table piece then I would design your table with an apron so you could use an apron leaf support. When you use sliding leaf supports drawers can block the slides. I would not think you would need extra legs since your are using the table for cookie decorating but if you do decide you need them it can always be an add on. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions just let me know. Keep me posted on how it goes - DoGood!!!
What did you do for outlets?
Roacho Cinco This closet did not have any outlets, however, you can measure and cut out holes in the coating for the outlets. To make the outlets flush against the wall use a single gang box extender. I hope this helps!
Great idea with the use of 2x4's for the desktop. I like the look. I was considering 2 - 2x8's but I think I like the 2x4 look better. Thanks
Jackie Toye Thank you Jackie. I love the look of the 2x4s too. I think it gives the desk top a warmer feel. Let me know how your project turns out! 👍
