All you need to know about Gavin is that when Steven heard him play he basically said “wow, we have to really up our game bc he is so technically good”
Still Do😎
Rite on boys always loved your sound😎
I love to listen to him. He has truly transcendent drumming.
hes just such a dude....incredible drummer and seems like a great person. serious man love
2:40 Tell that to Steven now LOL
He kinda wasting his time with The Pineapple Thieves imoo, I mean they're not bad but using 10% of his capacity
Best Drummer Alive!
The thought of seeing a member of GWAR working at McDonald's makes me giggle.
Bob is the most open and transparent person I've ever seen, it's amazingly refreshing. Thanks for the upload.
One of my favorite DEP interviews, I feel that you asked unusual but still relevant questions. Thanks!
Great you like it. I got to do this interview by chance. I've seen the band live before, but their performance at Copenhell Festival in Copenhagen was so epic, that I decided to drive 350km to Flensburg in Germany to see them again, because they were playing a very small club there (100 people or so). I met the guys by coincidence at a cafe before the show and as I had some camera equipment in the car, I asked if they were up for an interview. And luckily they were. ...of course the delivered an awesome show too, and they came to me after the show and thanked me for travelling so far to see them. That was truly a night to remember. ;-)
Such a thoughtful, well spoken individual.
Thanks for posting this. Fu Manchu is one hell of a band and Bob is an amazing guitarist and dude in general.
How fucking great is that, 7:20 --- leave it to the euros to tell bands how loud they can play, absolutely heeelarious, what a fucking joke.
Genious idea, by the way.
Does Robb ever take that leather bandana thing off?
i think he looks cool man!
@@DavidEspinell he looks like a metal clown with that dorag on his head man! 😂
"I recorded the album in about 4-5 days, it was all really easy." Gavin you are a BEAST!
Stupid people not supporting an album like In Absentia. What's wrong? In Absentia might be my fav prog rock album. Trains is kicking so much ass.
Very bad promotion by the label was at least partly to blame. I never even heard of PT until 2008 when I actively searched for modern prog rock bands.
Then listen to the old records :P
When Chris left the band I was devastated, that guy was just like the other guys; a vital part of the sound. To fill Chris' shoes and do it so well that he himself became a vital part of the band makes me admire Gavin alot.
This.^ I have been a Kyuss fan since 1993, and the music is just as relevant now as it was then. Kyuss lives! ;)
The thing is, I don't understand how Unida and Hermano never took off, that last Hermano LP "Exam Room" was freakin' awesome, a million times better than anything you will find on Radio! Plus, all Unida's stuff before that killed, it was as good as Kyuss, if not better!
nice upload. Thanks.
As a huge fan of Kyuss I've gotta say that over the last few weeks John and the rest of the Kyuss Lives crew (excluding Scott and Nick at this point) are seeming like a bunch of money grubbing pricks. Say what you will about Josh bringing a suit against John and Brant, at the very least he hasn't taken every opportunity to drive the legacy of this amazing band into the ground and kept trying to legitimize it by saying it's for the fans and being real upbeat about how it's "half of Kyuss". Scummy
"If Beavis and Butthead can't play the riff on their couch..." lol
Brilliant philosophy lol. It's deffo proven effective over the years!
@kenodobi you know what they say...
@DanNazarioDEP Billy is saying everything he needs to. Does he look uncomfortable? of course not
I really like the take on avoiding cliche' drumming. I think that is the main reason why I tend to get into a "musical rut". Lack of inspiration and creativity are groove killers.
2:14 Is that Swedish? ;-)
"That seven years didn't exist..pretty funny." Genius.
Love this interview.
it's pretty disgusting the way he is chewing...
I love Liam
haha "DISKANT...DOT.......DK"
Can't fucking wait for this album
Lay off the fries dude!
one of the bonus trackS YES!
@DominoVlog Definitly, I just can't name anyone who would be better technically and as well musically as a drummer... When PT got this break after "the incident" and Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater i thought: "hmmm..." but I'm happy that Gavin is still with PT, it's more mature music for me... although im big fan of both bands :D
Great overall production, deep lyrics and talented musicians.. what more can you ask for?
@Diskantdk That's metal. Well done.
Who's idea was it to interview Katatonia is a dark room with a single, dim light?
Legend. What a fucking legend
This guy is cool - lots of honesty and guts
the baddest man alive!! :)
@iamthevillarreal Hah Yeah they do!!! KYUSS all the way!!
@Prizak1 hope you'll choke with your own words. but before check Jonas' interview from tuska festival 2010, he's not sad all the time.. maybe he just doesn't like being interviewed. and even if he is sad, being an artist usually means suffering, we all know he's so sensitive. stop whining just enjoy the music.
HAHA they spelled Kyuss as Kuyss:P
@AliveGuy33 same man!
Seriously? Into the Void? I've always thought that the Kyuss version was fucking nailed! I love it, right up there with Soundgarden's version, in the ultra-killer stratosphere of hard rock and metal tributes.
Hendrix and Led Zeppelin :D
