That's how my first smw looked
Mine too
I realized that theres alot of walking in the Japanese version
Walking and Grinding
@@backloggamereviews Reminds me more of Earthbound (Mother 2)
Beautiful! Thanks for your gameplay <3
@@crizoliveira8185 Thank you for watching 🙂
This reminds me of the Digimon game on the WonderSwan (not the visual novels the one that was more like the V-Pets). To be fair i think most early Digimon games were more or less the V-Pets but on consoles (this, the WonderSwan one and even World 1 to an extent). To be fair there was a Tamagatchi game on the Saturn that was more or less the same thing as this but with Tamas instead of Digimon. Fun fact there was an exclusive Sonic Tama that onky appeared in the Saturn game
Just looked up that Sonic Tama (Sonictchi) super cute 😆
Nostalgic stuff my friend.
Japanese version was originally an N64 title
The “+” was the second title they published and it was for GC. The first one was an N64 title and this one was released in the same year, 2001. I remember it because I used to play it with my cousin when I was a child. He had N64 one and I bought “+” soon after he introduced this game to me. Good memories.
it sounds better coming out of an old tv like that, what i would do to play it for the first time again
Same here, such a good game.
Just learned of this game and im in nostalgic love
ハーゴンを倒すよりも、キラーマシーンを倒す方が難しいw
I am asking this as someone who does not speak Japanese and has looked the whole internet for an answer to this. I saw a video about disturbing moments in the Mother series, and I saw a comment mentioning the residents of Youngtown asking for breast milk. Is this true? If anyone can answer, I would appreciate it.
On part 9 at 25:00 I made it to the town of Easter. (Youngtown) Looking at the video I talked to every NPC in the town and unless I missed one no one made a comment like that. There was a group of kids yelling oppai(オッパイ) meaning breast. But nothing about breast milk.
Sega Dreamcast on the Super Nintendo Tv Truly an unspeakable horror you have created
That's just how I roll
real crab walk
Playing the Japanese version of persona 3 that is pretty cool you guys got some pretty good game exclusives though like super Mario Bros 2 the real one not that fake one we got in the US lol
well this game was the first one and its not that bad its just the true and the real experience digimon can offer on that parameters digimon world was so good 2 and 3 and 4 its just what the heck is this digimon ds games are decent the first the third and the fourth digimon rumble arena 1 are so good battle spirits are nice rumble arena 2 are a completely battle spirits 3d and its so shameful to play re digitze dark order and cyber sleouth are amazing games too the rest doesnt get the level of appealing to beat the game but yeah overall thats not bad
The main idea of the game is good, I don't feel it was executed all that well. Digimon World was a huge improvement. The main problem with this game is how in-game time passes. Time only passes while you are on the main desktop screen. Besides feeding, cleaning up after and caring for your Digimon there's not much to do on this screen. Later on in the game you can buy robots that take care of your Digimon for you giving you even less to do on the desktop screen. So eventually you end up with nothing to do and just sit there on the desktop screen waiting for time to pass. If it wasn't for that problem I would like this game a lot more.
love this game
Despite the hard mini-games it is a very fun game.
"Promosm"
What?
dk in the buildin 🥶
D.K, Donkey Kong is here!
Nicely done😊
Thank you!!
Roll sounds kawaii in Japanese
She really does!
video game
This is indeed a video game.
Whattttt I've never seen this!!
It's a really unknown game. There's very little information about it even when searching in Japanese.
Ive always wanted to play this game, How are you playing it out of curiosity? :D
Just off of my Sega Saturn. Bought the game online a couple of years back before it started getting expensive
@@backloggamereviewsoh really? I did the same I just have to buy a Sega Saturn! XD it’s nice to see more uploads of this game.
240p?
Yep, just started recording videos when this video was made. Only had a cheap capture card that didn’t work very well and didn’t know how to record in higher quality. Videos are better quality nowadays.
I just noticed Princess Gwaelin's default sprite in the Japanese version isn't changed unlike the rest of the human characters sprites had got in the American version.
Dang, first time seeing the Dragon Quest 1 Character Sprites in Japanese NES looked way different from the American Dragon Warrior game. The Hero looked like it's dancing instead of getting ready to fight battles. Also, I noticed a lot of Human characters gotten a huge overall differences, it's no wondered it took 3 years to get it over the Seas.
lmao
I think we lucked out in the US, having the advantage of Enix Japan & NOA working together to improve these games for the US release. We got full battery backed save instead of passwords, better sprites in the first game that could actually face different directions meaning less inputs to just talk or open chests, and expanded story openings in a few of the games as well which ended up going into later remakes of the games. The translations weren't exactly ideal of course, there was some N.O.A. induced censorship, and the game's title screens were generally uglier, but by and large, I think we did pretty good. Until the SNES... when none of the Dragon Quest games got official translations.
I love games that have this old OS aesthetic, I wish there were more games like Digimon Tamers Ver. S, Battle Hunter and Kingsway.
Wow, I found the Mt Itoi cave section hard enough in EB Beginnings, apparently it's even bigger here
Thanks, I wanted to see what the full-sized dungeon sections looked like (Magicant's underground/well section here)
THANK FOR UPLOAD IT
You're welcome 🙂
UI from The Legend of Zelda and map graphics from Dragon Quest.
Too bad they couldn't make this game fun like those games.
Bring me back to the good old child days.
Way more exciting than the borefest of FF1-FF6. This game looks cool
It’s Released in 1994
Yep, same year worldwide
A tropical island with snow? Whaaaaat??
It even has a factory despite no people living there
I see no difference between the US and the Japanese versions
They're pretty much the same game. Besides level names and such being in Japanese.
Japanese version has the Donkey Kong icon removed from the tree house on the world map.
@@Saiyan_Ryuplus that new sick title screen
Man, the songs David Wise made just makes me cry everytime. It's just CRIMINAL there hasn't been a new game after Tropical Freeze and I highly doubt we'll even get one after Nintendo has forever RUINED the DLC for Smash Ultimate.
We can only hope that after Retro gets done with Metroid they can start on a DK game.
Easy for you to say. Metroid Prime 4 is taking forever to make and after many former employees left, things were already looking grim. At this rate, this might become the next Duke Nukem Forever.
Swaggg
Are you playing on the real snes?
Yep, all my playthrough are done off of original hardware. The only exception is a cancelled Metal Gear Solid 1 playthrough where I was playing around with a PS1 emulator.
Thanks so much for sharing this!
How do you raise the bar in battles? I push all the buttons and it does nothing
It raises by pressing the A, B and C buttons. Idk if there's a pattern you're supposed to press them in or anything. I just mashed them. How fast it raises also depends on how high you're digimon's friendship / bond stat is. If it's low it won't raise much or at all. The only thing that does happen in the bar fills up is that you can give your digimon a special command like hit them with a strong attack or don't miss the next attack.
💚💙💚💙💚
Alguem jogando??🤍💜💙💚💦
Yeah, all the gameplay is done by me for these videos.
i was looking for a dragon quest (famicon, not switch ver.) playthrough/summary; your playthrough and review helped me a lot! thanks so much!
Don’t mention it! I’m happy that this could be helpful to someone😁
I prefer this title screen over the blander “Dragon Warrior” one
I always loved "Miller's" random codec survival tips in MGS (and MG2SS).
The ones that break the fourth wall are always great. "Trust your instincts as a solider, as a gamer."
I feel the picture is a little dark. Should I adjust the settings for future episodes?
I didn't know this version.
The MSX is one of the lesser known systems out there, this version is pretty much the same as the NES / Famicom. The scrolling is garbage, but that's the MSX's fault.
Nicee
Thanks!
