Next time buy a pickle fork. Or an air chisel with a pickle fork chisel end. When reassembling You can also put a floor jack under the lower control arm and jack it up into the upper ball joint.

I'm guessing my 2000 ek's d16 is putting down maybe 85 hp to the tires stock. I have to turn off the A/C to get up steep hills. If what you're doing on the cheap gets you DOUBLE, count me in.
