How is he a king? King in his own right towards himself..but he’s no king of the sound system that just a figment of imagination in reality it’s just some people that have some speakers and amplification and set it up and play musical recordings..the whole thing about sound system this and sound that is a hype a man says he’s a rasta then next day says he’s not just like a Muslim today a Christian the next ect people always claiming this and claiming that but nothing is set in stone..look at that clown neil who named his Pa equipment king shiola and says salisie i is his god, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about but he still continues to preach and talk crap to his alcohol drinking pork sausage eating hippie crowd..let each person do what they want but im also doing what I want and expressing my observations.

I'm slightly sad that Aba doesn't give more credit to the Shaka Soundsystem. Through the late 80s and beyond it was Shaka's influence, the way he played, that inspired the other Roots Warrior soundsystems. Shaka, through Culture Promotions, also made roots music accessable to a different younger white audience who had learned how to dance to house music, but were looking for a different beat. Steppers roots music filled that desire. It's not about worshipping Shaka, saying he's the best etc, but his influence on the roots scene in the UK cannot be downplayed. Great to hear Joseph talk. The Soundsystems I've been involved with have played alongside Aba Shanti 6 times.
