That just happened to me😂. I completed all tasks and obligations, respectfully returned all equipment. Apologize profusely because the headset that I went to format had an issue that I did not have time to look into what was wrong with it. And was on my merry way and thanked them for not firing me during the holidays. I was even given the option to resign and collect unemployment or they can fire me through the natural process. They also had reason to fire me. My heart wasn't in the work anymore and I was the slowest member of the team when it came to productivity. But I was always there ready and willing to do anything to help.

A company of a relative was just bought out and they told them the amount of days given but never told them they couldn't carry them over. Since it is a new year he lost 10 days, needless to say. this year he will be taking all the time allowed. The business screwed all their employees and they will get their payback one way or another.

where I work, at 10 years you get 208 hours of PTO and 24 hours of float / sick days. At one time you could carry over the full 208 and get another 208 by the end of the year. Several people were from Laos so they would save that up, and go home for the full 416 hours which is 52 days of vacation. well they changed it so you could not carry over more then 208 then changed it to you can't go over 208... So I just take off every other Friday, if I am close to 208, or just take a Thur, Fri, Mon every so often.

Oh cry me a river! You don’t have to attend anything. It’s so so flexible in Germany that if you still find stuff to complain then you are the problem. The system in Germany is for adults. You understand the commitment and you fulfill them if it’s suits you. Also the university is free even for foreigners and the education is recognize all over the world.

Former German studen here: We didn't have mandatory attendance as a rule for all our courses but had to absolve "Studienleistungen" which is basically a prove of study. Pissing of a lecturer with consistently not showing up could severly backfire. Manipulating how hard a Studienleistungen is, is really easy. For one class I had to draw a picture without any real rules (I used one I already had) opposed to one that was a small test 20 min test at the end of all the classes and while getting 50% wS all you needed to successfully get the Studienleistungen it was basically impossible if you didn't attend. They would over provide study materials online for thier classes (20+books, news articles and so on) without the lectures highlights. While during the lecture they had a 5 sentence summary after every class with the questions word for word. You show up, you don't have to study, you don't and you will have to do 40h+. You might try getting it from a friend but good luck finding someone willing to provide thier notes. People get really upset if you ask for stuff you could have gotten yourself if you didn't sleep in.

loved giving estimates, especially when i knew they client was witholding info. they then had the habit of putting change requests in and demanding no additional time or funds. my estimstes would be accepted because clents never read the complete contract. i always made sure to require change irders in writting ciountr signed by everyone. i was sure the contract clearly stated change orders included more time and funding at 1 1/2 the original estimate hourly rates.

I worked for American eagle as ground support the manager made it policy that if your relief didn't show up you had to stay so I worked a swing shift then graveyard and then the day shift also called out so I worked his shift then my own shift and again the third shift and now on my second round of day shift I told the manager I had court and couldn't stay so I was fired and I would walk across the globe before I would ever fly on an american airlines plane again

Allow me to explain what the “big deal” is, for the people who say it was just a small joke. In your wallet, you hold important things- ID, Health Insurance, Money (Debit/Credit or actual Bills), Drivers Liscense, etc. By joking the wallet was thrown into the trash, means there is a possible chance that not only have things been stolen from it, but also people should remember janitors are a thing, and they will toss the trash into a dumpster. If OPs wallet was in the trash, and the janitor had come by, they’d lose important stuff that costs money to replace, or be forced to shut down cards and get new ones. That costs time to wait for the cards to come in. While thankfully it didn’t happen, it still caused unnecessary panic in OP. A joke is not funny if nobody laughs. You are also acting like their ‘revenge’ was even that good. She just told the coworker no to the schedule change. The coworker is also a ‘mean-spirited wimp’ because obviously, the joke wasn’t a joke. If you’re still going to say it isn’t that big of a deal, then imagine if somebody told you that somebody stole your wallet, or your keys, and tossed them away somewhere. Would you not also panic about that? Hope this explanation helps. 😊

I used to work for a public university in the US that was all about how work performed from home could not count as worked hours. I do IT and am salaried and exempt from overtime pay so this was just micromanaging BS. When I had on-call I would go into the office since I lived nearby so that time counted for the hours requirement.
