had a younger friend who tried getting into the souls genre, he was playing Lies of P which i hadnt played yet at the time, and he asked me if i could help beat the big clocktower robot boss. took me 3 attempts, simply had to get a feel for the controls and i was golden.

Me and my Dad are like this. He does it with fighting games, and I do it with racing games. All we really need to know are the basics of where the important buttons are, and we can pick up any game in those genres in a matter of several minutes. For him, he needs to know, punch, kick, grab, block. Dodges and/or parries are something he learns the timings for alarmingly quickly. For me; gas, brake, e-brake, boost. As much as the console wars people don't want to admit it. Playstation and Xbox are just about the same. I grew up on Playstation, so Xbox just has an oddly placed stick in my eyes. That's really it.

Literally had this happen not even a month ago. Friend wanted me to play Destiny 1. I don't normally play FPS games, and it showed. Two weeks later, I was already almost max level, accurate af, was soloing missions that usually had you run in teams of 3, and had killed several gods. To me, I was a god of rage and might, smiting all who stood before him. To my friend, I looked like a robot on copius amounts of coke and LSD and getting all the effects all at once while having a schizophrenic episode.

Easier than learning to play BT2 on the Wii.
