101 Part Time Jobs with Giles Bidder
Великобритания
Добавлен 22 июл 2020
The official RUclips channel of 101 Part Time Jobs with Giles Bidder
The podcast sees Giles Bidder (the i, Soho Radio) host engaging conversations with diverse musicians, exploring the taboo topic of how musical artists make a living. The often surprising jobs they’ve had is a prism through which to explore the grit and perseverance it can take for our favourite musicians to ensure that the show can go on, in the face of an increasingly difficult industry to make a career in.
The British music industry contributed £4 Billion into the UK economy in 2022. However, there are only 6,000 working musicians in the UK; and nearly half earn less than £14,000 a year. In this podcast celebrating DIY and grassroots culture, Bidder asks headlining and emerging artists the questions that nobody else is asking, creating a space where musicians can be vulnerable.
Over 300 guests have appeared on the podcast, including IDLES, Self Esteem, Big Thief, Kurt Vile and many more.

Katy J Pearson - United by vulnerability
Unbelieveble she is only 28. She talks like an old person (in a good sense). I could listen to her for hours easily.
❤🥳
Its all the governments Aurora failing us, all the Rich-and People in Power that just want to make money- Monsanto is trying to have all the seeds and their genetically modified- All the Rich will destroy us all, We need to Remove all the Governments to go back to just Living
5:59- struggles to find the word ‘float’, but she already said it @ 5:35. That’s a perfect way to describe this gorgeous human that is barely attached to this Earth. I picture her tethered by a string to whomever is lucky enough to plan her days for her. 😂 And AURORA wakes up in a cloud everyday 😉 Then floats down to a studio, lays all her thoughts into song form and floats to lunch. I mean all of this with the MOAST respect. Hasta la Pasta, ✨🧚♀️✨
.Possible boj frent 😻
I love you
Aurora is so delightfull otherworldly. She is so uninterested in her fame. I love how she can be extremly wise and thoughtfull, and then just turns back being a playfull, curious, happy soul. ❤❤❤
I think Cameron Winter is my new fave artiste'. Great new album.
hes like the new york Cass avier lol
The first four albums were the best
Great interview! And... Come to Brazil!
17:32 WTF 😦
Hell yeah
❤U Liam ✨
The standard way to make it then
Love it. Love Nick. We’re all excited for you to be back in D.C. again. Zhuzh them eggs. Eggs IS good.
Think more with heart? Why is the heart often associated only with good things? Emotions like hate, greed, jealousy, insecurities, and wounded pride also arise from the heart. The source of greed isn't the mind; it's the heart. The mind tempers these impulses, keeping irrational and destructive tendencies in check, and serves as a tool to achieve goals. But those goals-whether good or bad-stem from the heart. Today, the world is more peaceful than ever in history, thanks to the mind's focus on rationality and long-term progress. While not perfect, this rational approach has brought improvement. The heart fosters connection and creativity, but it won't protect you from the cunning of a psychopath-that's the role of the mind.
Ever since discovering AURORA I started to accept and lean into my neurodiversity more and it’s made me soooo much more happy and relaxed. People have told me I’ve gotten weird but it’s a compliment really. I get to unmask, be me. It’s so freeing.
jacob just casually wearin the sunnies still
42:45 What Happened To The Appendix?
Lias is Always a Great Interview.
How to talk about capitalism without mentioning it. Actual Zeitgeist these days is to talk about emotions all the time instead of facts. Also very fashionable is pretentious victimhood that can be capitalized. This actually helps no one but the people who cause the problems. They have actual addresses, feelings have not. Quite ridicilous that this is supposed to be progressive these days. Obviously Aurora is still quite emersed by this woke (fake-left) media charade but nevertheless she is still one of the best. At least she doesn't preach.
lmao that story is great just imagining him at the bus stop seeing all these cops paranoid as fuck and then someone keeps asking him "are you okay?" worst nightmare lol
This nodding after saying "Piss" 😂
I love Hello Mary. I've seen them several times here in LA.
Awesome interview!
6:40 the interview starts, you're welcome 😁
the density of big city is quite whelming (even outside of Europe), I'm at the point I think I'd be less uncomfortable if I could be like they're staring because I'm fey not because they think I'm prey, water flosser for gums at least monthly... at times more than once a day 🪂i cant smoke weed there but i "know" a pimp that could put me to work.🌐
I'm in love with Emma!! She is amazing. I love her contribution to the Pixis, my favorite band. My love for her from Argentina❤
This was a great watch, thank you. Splinter is still one of my favorite albums
I think I got a new obsession with los campesinos
wait What? Her lover died?!!! 10:23 everyone is talking about her jokes and how amazing she is, which is of course, she has an amazing personality obviously.., but I feel like she grew a lot last years, and its not only because of maturity, i see suffering on her face.. a LOT of suffering and heartache, even being bored about all this fuss around her and being famous...she's tired, I even dare to say exhausted.. And the fact her place is not as much as a cosy home as it should be because of the touring... without even an oven to heat her meals... I hope she does as much self-care as much she cares about everyone and the world, and that she cares a bit less of people getting from her what they want and she does more of what she needs and gets more than the double love back, to say the least, as she gives... Dear Aurora...Give yourself more than what you need lovely human being, you deserve more than time - to heal and upload- for yourself too <333
I think she is referring to her lover killed in the Utoya massacre. She wrote the song Little Boy In The Grass about it. Although she would only have been 15 or 16 at the time. She has had her share of sorrow, the song Why Did You Have To Go is about a high school friend killed in a car accident, truly a heartbreaking song.
That was a great interview; thank you both! I remember The Pan I Am doing something similar on a smaller scale many Moons ago now. That was a great evening, spoiled by a lady on the merch stand accusing me of trying to steal a t-shirt that I had picked up to buy. Lesson to be learned from that: make sure the people you employ represent you and add to your appeal, not take away from it.
PS Liked and subscribed. PPS I own an Orlando print, from a gig he did at the Brudenell Social Club 4 or 5 years ago, which I cherish.
Love this thanks guys … Ned has been an inspiration for a while for me
😎🥰😁👍💯
33:25- 34:25, 40:00- 45:20: why we love Aurora so much
Dex is looking really well! He's gonna rock old like a badass
My dogs name is pistol and we call him piss for short 😂😂
Her essence melts my heart like butter on warm bread 🫀🥖💗

14:10 I KNEW she would say that lmao. Such an aurora thing to say "Im gonna go home and masturbate"
This is a class concept
Okaay write those down everybody
Watch Mike play Holiday back stage
Absolutely lovely episode!!
Damn man! You have a channel with only 628 subscribers but you managed to have an interview with Dexter Holland??? KUDOS!!!!!
I loved this interview. I wish he would have actually ranked The Offspring’s albums though! I’d also love to hear more about the first two albums than what he’s said already.
pretty good!!!! Love them
27:19
loved this, so many interesting angles, ideas... and tangents
When the Offspring were with Epitaph, their success $$$$ helped fund other bands success.
