The Common Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster) is a large dog species native to Northern Africa, there are six recognized subspecies of common golden wolf: the Serengeti Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster bea), the Somali Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster riparius), the Nubian Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster soudanicus), the Senegal Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster anthus), the Egyptian Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster lupaster), and the Algerian Golden Wolf (Flavocyon lupaster algirensis), it is one of the only two extant species of the genus Flavocyon, the other being the Ethiopian Golden Wolf (Flavocyon simensis), the golden wolves (genus Flavocyon) are the third most basal extant genus of the subtribe Canina (Old World Wolf-Like Canines), they are only more derived than the other two african genera Lupulella (African Jackals) and Lycaon (Painted Dogs), but basal to all the other reps of the Canina subtribe.

So theoretically. If prey density and an absence of large prey is a problem. Wouldn’t introducing more and larger prey be a possible solution for tigers, as long as we’re sure the animals can survive the conditions and habitats without messing the balance?

It might not be the best conditions for the migrating birds but is it certainly not good conditions for humans filming with the wind noise and the microphones. I came here in the hope of seeing ospreys but I was out of luck. It must have been a bad time of the year or something. They got a mention at 33:36 and again at 34:19. It is a rewarding educational video. Thanks.

Returned from this trip 4 days ago and I can highly recommend it. Excellent accommodation and food. Sadly we didn't get lucky with the Clouded Leopard but did get Marbled and Leopard cat in the forest. Got lucky with the Elephants and Otter Civet on the Kinabatangan river. I think we recorded just over 100 bird species (I wasn't keeping the list ). Now to plan the next trip!
