#20 Gambling Life and Death, Former Professional Cricketer Patrick Foster
Patrick Foster spent his life chasing his sporting dreams in the hope the darkness he felt would disappear - but even huge success on the outside couldn't fix how he felt on the inside. He appeared to 'have it all' but he was distressingly hiding a debilitating gambling addiction. Huge bets led to hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of debt - even losing £50k on a single horse. But gambling to him was never about the money. It was something else which he only found out during his recovery.

Its a well known fact that women are abused more than men and there would be uproar if it was a woman who suffered this BUT she was SOME PSYCHOTIC BITCH. What she did in his own house was un-believable - if its correct to say HE IS LUCKY to be alive. HOPE the Law threw the full force of the law at her. Michelle's picture & details SHOULD BE OUT there like the most wanted on a law enforcement agency so no one else suffers what this man went through. Her brother's were probably a figment of her imagination to give her more power. How would he ever feel safe or happy back in his own house again. Losing her power - hope Michelle got a taste of her own medicine in jail.

this is part of the reason myself and so many people my age are terrified of dating. i'm a young man, i'm only 20 years old, i've never even entered the world of dating, and i'm not sure that i ever will. it's just so terrifying that the person i trust enough to open up to and love could be physically abusive, deal me permanent damage or kill me, and when i reach out for help i end up in prison. it's horrifying to think about, really, and i know i'm not the only one who feels this way. i know i can't cause a paradigm shift in how our society and the justice system is built, but i'd like to hope this is something that could be changed in my life time.

I am glad you speak out on what happened to you. People often do not understand what domestic violence really means. She should not have any access to your home. However, I am not so sure that they would have acted different with females, who are abused. Some of them suffered many attacks, with the police involved. But I am so happy to hear that you are out of this situation now.

Thank you Ian. As a fellow survivor, I've learnt alot about the DV perspective from the male side and it is the same relationship with a potentially very different perspective from onlookers. If a woman has a bruise a first thought is DV (and that's not to downplay a womans experience they are the same as any survivor) but the contrast is a man who has been assaulted instantly looks like a trouble maker and one to avoid and that locked you in a horrific place even more so. So thank you, I've learnt something to look out for, for potential DV in men.

Very Well Done Lisa and Rory! I applaud your continued efforts to illuminate and expose the vile segments of our society and how, exactly, they operate in such a covert fashion. Lisa's story is told via her bravery and innate ability to overcome, and she's gone on to turn a horrific story into an opportunity to help other survivors unpack their ordeals and understand they were not at fault, they were not a terrible person, they did not "ask for it". I know from personal experience that it takes years of dealings with the repercussions of S A, and all of the players involved, which can then be unraveled to finally view the twisted thinking involved, and it's worth every moment to work with a therapist (like Lisa) to get to the other side of the maze and to rediscover the real You. Beyond that, exposing abusers for what they are is paramount to increasing awareness and dismantling the veiled evil intentions these twisted minds use to harm others for the sake of their perversions. Thank you, Lisa and Rory, for all you do to help others!❤

There are many women who should never have had children - unfortunately single parenthood w/the primary parent being a woman has robbed children of a father's influence. Although there are definitely many men that should not be anywhere near a child. I am so glad to hear that this man continues to follow a path toward inner healing.

  • @aletafrances4984

My heart is sad after hearing this man's story... grooming is so insidious that the victim isn't even aware that it is happening. After the 1st assault there is a shock factor - fight, flight or freeze... the victim is numb. Dumbfounded by what occurred. I am so glad he is free from that monster... the hour will come & she will pay a hefty price for the suffering she caused in this man's life.
