So true. The people watching at a Dodger Stadium is wonderful. You have everyone one from Judge Smails types (watch caddy shack you youngsters) to the homeless guy rolling around Union Station that someone gives a miracle too (Grateful Dead reference for youngsters) that navigated his way up the hill to get in. All are represented at Dodger games. Hit Philippe’s before or after to start or keep the party rolling.

I love how one angle of the stadium has the DTLA backdrop, then the opposite angle are the Elysian hills. This contrast is especially highlighted in night games where the darkness of the hills beyond the outfield pavilion make the stadium and the game appear as it’s spotlighted on a stage. There’s no cityscape or freeway in the background, it’s just Dodger Stadium and the game, the stars of the show.

Dodger stadium is crappy especially for the time that it was built. It wasn't until recent that the owners group started to renovate it because it was so dated when Frank McCourt and the previous owners of the dodgers didnt care about the stadium only the money coming in.

When Dodger Stadium was designed, it was done so with the ability up upgrade on the future. O'Malley wanted to have the pavilions connected to the rest of the stadium, which was home my Guggenheim

Dodgers stadium is historic in its own right, but nothing beats the classic old time ballpark in the neighborhood like Wrigley, Yankee or Fenway. Maybe I’m just biased because I cannot stand stadiums/arenas with large parking lots, but I do like Dodgers Stadium

Its true dodger tickets are expensive. Its untrue that it started this season. Tickets have gone up since the sale of the team 10+ years ago, and have become a "premium brand" since the litteral premium cable subscription. Last year was still crazy expensive, same for several years before that.

Dodger Stadium is a Googie masterpiece build in and with mid-century modern ideas and methods. It's a perfect representation of LA architecture and culture. All the retro jewel boxes (Camden, Oracle, Petco) are pastiche, ersatz. American's love ersatz shit, but it's liking a Red Robin in a mall over the McDonald's in Downey.
