The Aerogen adapter is a device used for nebulization of respiratory medications in patients who are being treated with a ventilator. It is designed to be attached to the ventilator circuit and deliver medications directly to the patient's airways. The adapter works by converting liquid medications into a fine mist or aerosol, which can then be inhaled by the patient. This allows for targeted d...
Full face Bipap mask (Fireman man)
Просмотров 798 месяцев назад
A full face mask is a type of mask used in BiPAP therapy to deliver positive airway pressure to a patient's airway. It covers both the nose and mouth, providing a secure seal to ensure the optimal delivery of pressurized air. In some cases, a full face mask used in BiPAP therapy may be similar to the masks used by firefighters. These masks, also known as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA...

So no wound dressing done? I'm confused. Just looking at the dressing package? Ok.
This dressing is used with tracheotomy tube for drainage
What's with the butterflies??? Switched the video off.
Does the patient also need a swivel exhalation port (to allow exhalation) or is the adapter piece you're showing sufficient?
@@tdoggies2 this allow inhalation and exhalation from the same interface.
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 ty, but my question is: does the patient also need a swivel exhalation port (to allow exhalation) or is the adapter piece you're showing sufficient?
@@tdoggies2 inhalation and exhalation through same interface. No additional adapter required. I don’t see them used much in practice.
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 Are you sure? Every patient I've spoke with who uses that adapter connected to their trach has told me that you ALSO need a "swivel exhalation port" attached to the bottom of that adapter.
Can you give me some tips on how to get the acetylcystein out of the bottle? My patient uses it in a nebulizer twice a day and it's a PITA to get out. I suppose the easiest way would be a syringe?
Yes typically it’s removed with a 10 cc syringe with a blunt tip needle.
I’ve never seen this protective gel, how long can you place on patient before you have to change out?
I’ve used it for the length of the stay for the patient or of the gel gets solid or broken.
Hello sir, my priority is to get a as wide hole as possible for effortless nighttime breathing, would this work better than a shiley 10? Or not much difference at all? Any recommendations? Thabk you
Supplier
Isn't one end larger than the other? I remember someone told me to put the small end going to canula and large end to oxygen?? Thank you
Where can I buy this trachometry
Hello sir..
Hello to you
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 Hello my name is daman i m frm india we are manufacturing tracheotomy tube jackson & fullar..
Hey boss.. What company makes this adapter? Thanks
@@mazdarati220 I’ll have to get back to you on that. My apologies
aye this on point
Thank you
isn't it just a swivell adaper with a flex tube?
It’s a flex tube but not swivel adapter. This say it’s designed specifically for this use discussed in video.
@@zerozex19898 the swivel adapter I typically used for trach patients.
it looks like it's just a flex trach adapter without the swivell exhalation port. I spoke recently with several trach patients who use this adapter to connect PAP to their trach and they've all told me that this adapter alone is not sufficient; they said you also need to attach a swivell exhalation port to the bottom of the adapter shown above.
@@tdoggies2 exactly what I thought
I'm a ventilator patient, who receives nebs from an Aerogen nebulizer at home. I use the Aerogen Solo, with the Pro-X controller. I got it Thursday from my RT, and I am legally blind, so I cannot see when the chamber is empty. So from what it sounds like, even if the neb chamber is empty, since i cannot see, It's ok if I just let it run through the 30 minute cycle? I cannot see, so don't know when it's empty, and don't know when It's time to turn off the controller, but I didn't want to leave it on for the whole 30 minute treatment. I was told It's ok to do that, but I'm not sure. I'd rather not leave the mesh vibrating for 30 minutes if there's no medication in the chamber.
Q- what if there's no white tubing on the corrugated tube on the side. Kindly answer. And only has a trach thats capped all day.
The corrugated tubing is usually for the attachment to ventilation. In new Ballard set ups they come equipped but for this instance I don’t believe they’re needed. The cap would have to be removed prior to suctioning.
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 thanks very much. I was able to observe and jogged my memory. Many thanks for teaching is. Blessings
Can I ask you please from where I can find these clot catchers? Thanks
The jobs usually provide them
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 I'm trying to find similar ones but no success. If you manage to find out I would be grateful 🙂
Nice
I've always loved your videos! As most RTs know, a lot of the beds in the ICU can do Percussion & Vibration as well. I've asked around, and I wanted to know what people thought did better, at the airway clearance, and they said that the Vest does a better job than the bed! I would still use the bed, if a patient is in a bed with this functionality, and if they're intubated. I would prefer the bed's therapy. I'm curious about your experience with the beds' function of airway clearance. These types of critical care beds in my opinion are wonderful beds, and not only can they do the Percussion and Vibration, but they can also do the Continuous Lateral Rotation Therapy, and many other great functions!
Thank you for showing us how to change the pressure settings! I appreciate it! 😂
Totally
I have a questions. Now they have ventilators, like the PB840, the Servo I, the Drager vents, and the Esprit ventilator, which have Respiratory Mechanics monitoring, where you can perform weaning parameters like NIF, Vital Capacity, and P0.1 monitoring. In some places, they still use those NIFometers, but in your opinion, which do you think is more of an accurate and better measurement of NIF? With the standard NIFometer, as seen in this video, or via the means of the NIF measurement on the ventilator? I mean, if you go to the NIF measurement on the Drager Ventilators, you press and hold the button, and have the patient take in a breath, warning the patient that for a few seconds, they won't get any air. You can perform this easily and efficiently with the patient's ventilator. With those NIFometers, they seem great from my experience, but you have to remove the patient from the ventilator, and in some patients, such as a Guillain Barre Syndrome Patient, who's been on that ventilator for months, it's going to cause some MAJOR anxiety! But as for your experience with Accuracy, what do you suppose, or think might be more accurate?
No these are for non ventilated patients connected to a piece of correlated tubing and a mouthpiece. These are for patients with the pathologies you mentioned but non invasive
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 Ohh ok. I understand.
I LOVE the Drager ventilators! They are wonderful vents! I also like the Hamilton ventilators! The Drager vents, and the Hamilton vents have the capability for High flow Oxygen Therapy. So if the patient can get off the ventilator, you can connect the high flow humidification to the ETT, or trach! You can perform heated T-Piece trials, or Heated Trach collar trials that way!
I know I'm probably not the only one that's said this, but I WANT MORE RESPIRATORY VIDEOS! Your's are wonderful! I have so much respect for you, and would like to see more videos!
Thank you that means a lot
@@letstalkrespiratory4079 You Are very VERY Welcome!
Hello. I'm a ventilator, and trach patient. Who knows a whole lot about Respiratory care, from being around it all of my life! But I'm just curious! Do you all have the InTouch beds, that play music? They have the capability of playing classical, jazz, and Nature Sounds. I have quite the history behind those beds. That's a huge story in itself. LOL!
I’ve never seen any of those kinds of bed but they must be magical. That would be great to have
I’ve never come across any but that sounds so cool
Great vid, thanks!
Is there research on mid flow? I don’t fully understand the difference between mid flow o2 and high flow o2
It’s really the same mechanics high flow systems don’t typically run below 30 lpm. Mid flow is a hospital term it allows flow between 6-15lpm
Could you do more videos like this? Maybe discussing a patient on APRV?? I must say, this is the BEST Respiratory channel there is. But what about doing more videos like this discussing ventilator modes whilst showing them in action. We could clearly see that this patient whilst they were on the Pressure Support Mode, had a rather high Respiratory rate, and still being able to allow them to breathe spontaneously even with the higher rate, and even with the rather low volumes, but was doing pretty well all things considered. I was happy to see a video like this. Most videos you'll see test lungs in use, but this one we saw the effort from a recovering patient!
Yes I usually do videos when I come across the ventilators at different jobs on my travels so I’ll continue to do new ventilators as I come across them. I’m being careful to not violate any hippa laws.
I truly thank you for you support
Do you guys use HFOV at your hospital, and ECMO?
This video was one of your MANY GREAT VIDEOS! Seriously!! Your videos are especially wonderful, and now you have a new subscriber! I hope this patient is doing well! With YOUR assistance, I KNOW she will recover!
Thank you so much I live doing respiratory and learning new equipment. I appreciate your kind word and I’m glad you like the videos
Nice! Thanks.
Your welcome
Show how to change it please!!
I loved the work a lot! I've been trying to find for a instructional RUclips vid similar to yours that really teaches the ideas in this video! 🧑⚕️ 👌Your explanation is similar to the vids from Dr. Ethan. Dr Ethan's tips are for sure educational and he actually helped me a lot on school! He is a helpful medical student in the UK! You should see his RUclips out and give Doctor Ethan a subscribe! 👉 #DoctorEthanRUclips
You have some great videos thanks for sharing any suggestions on how to pass the boards exam...
I would go to kettering and take many practice test
Yes he DEFINITELY DOES!!!! He works hard putting these Respiratory videos out! I have a lot of respect for RTs like him, who do what they do. Whether it's administering a simple SVN treatment, or dealing with a patient who is difficult to wean, or a patient who's deteriorating rapidly. THESE RTs, are GREAT at what they do! And He is no exception! His videos are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! I'm up for some more ventilator related videos! He's really REALLY good with these onesvideos!
How long have you been a therapist
Seven years
Nice! Thank you. ❤️👑✨🙏
Your very welcome I’m so glad you like. If you have Ig follow us and we’ll follow back
This video is very relevant in 2020 A practical aspect is the management of oxygen supply which is very high when large number of patients are connected to such equipment in a Covid-19 hospital. One can refer to a video " HFOT Calculator" on RUclips OR download the free App from Google Play Store as a supplement to this nice video.
Yes we have been using this often as in recent days, it seems to be preferable over bipap prior to intubation due to less or smaller amount of particulate output

Great video, looking forward to more uploads. I recommend smzeus . c o m to promote your channel.
Yes I love you guys. If we didn’t have you everything would fall on the nurses and we have so much to handle already
Laci Davis I love working with you guys I learn so much, we hand and hand together. I always ask the nurse questions and you all are so helpful to me
Let’s Talk Respiratory we try, I know there was the beef between RTs and Nurses but during school I always loved talking to my RT friends and they helped me with my respiratory and critical care of airways. This last quarter I was in we were suppose to learn trach care and ventilators but stupid COVID prevented us from that
@@Lacilove1991 I think both disciplines should acknowledge the work of the other discipline. We are here for the patients, I've never really had much issues with any nursing, we actually work well together. Mostly
Let’s Talk Respiratory I’ve just heard from other RTs that they hate when the nurses mess with their ventilators
