Darren Strickland Because the song is about Mass Effect. It's inspired by and sampled with parts of the Mass Effect soundtrack, all of its themes follow those of Mass Effect. It would be nothing short of disrespectful to the original piece to pair it with any other game than Mass Effect.

Ok I agree, it was not realy an maltiple ending, But i think it is an good ending because I think sacrifice himself for safing the universum from the reapers is shepard`s style.

Yeah, the multiple endings thing was a bit of a disappointment- would it have killed them to at least make different animations?- but story-wise the ending itself could have been a lot worse, and the game was mostly awesome. Ditto for the song.

Oh, without a doubt: The last ten minutes of Mass Effect 3 was, incontrovertibly, the biggest video game abortion of the decade---and Bioware will pay for that crime with fissures that run deeper in its fandom than they will ever know. But, from the noxious ashes of that disaster, consider this song a plucky, long-lived spark that flies high above: After much reflection, I think it's actually given me the closure I wanted at the end of Mass Effect---the lack of which left me literally depressed after my playthrough of ME3.

Ryan West I will guarantee you it was not the original bioware team that did that to mass effect 3. Ever since bioware was taken over by EA, they have sunk lower and lower. I am hoping DA Inquisition is still good or that will be my last bioware game.

CombatMedicOps123 That's common knowledge: Writers have claimed the whole team was left out of the loop while the lead designer and someone else basically locked themselves in a room and wrote the ending in a vacuum. There's more than enough evidence of the truth of this to believe it---and besides, how else do we explain an ending that SO mind-numbingly misses every major theme and point of the entire trilogy... it causes a significant fraction of its fans to actually believe the ending to be an elaborate indoctrination troll? Protip: When your ending is so bad that your fanbase actually believes it ISN'T REAL... you have a problem ;)

As a fan of both ME and Skyrim... I have to (very respectfully, given our mutual taste in music!) disagree. The Mass Effect theme has has a particularly mournful melody that Malukah captures beautifully---and, importantly for this discussion, SINGULARLY---here. Skyrim has an entirely different musical architecture that Malukah (and others, especially Peter Hollens) have beautifully captured elsewhere. But this? The mournful melody of Leaving Earth and End of All Things? That's pure Mass Effect, period.

If you've played RIFT, then you'd know what I'm about to talk about. It could also sort of apply to the Defiant faction, who send back their champions through time to try to change a future where Regulos and the other dragons of the Blood Storm have almost completely conquered all of Telara.

If anything, I feel it more could do with the Dragonborn, as they are in a somewhat similar situation as Commander Shepard (I believe the song's lyrics are from Shepard's Point of view), they both have to stop an ancient "evil" from destroying the world as we know it. I do agree about this song not really fitting with the rest of Skyrim's music, piano and sadness is not how Skyrim is, Skyrim is more drums, chanting, etc. ancient viking-like stuff.

Leonarth True, Skyrim generally has more battle- and action-oriented music, but it has it's fair share of sad music as well. And I said the factions, because, unless Dovahkiin joins one of said factions, they really don't have any enemies on land, only in the skies.
