If I’m not mistaken, this is how I believe the mechanics works..
Boss is surrounded by armor with hit count.
Deplete hit count to expose Samurai’s torso.
The torso, outside of armor pieces breaking, are the only thing that take damage. This damage is what’s counted towards your overall.
The more pieces of intact armor, the higher damage the boss deals with each attack.
Breaking ALL the armor pieces does not increase torso damage.
