    Ok, thanks for the video.. I've got a 2019 Edge Titanium 2.0 with the 8F35 8 speed trans your Maverick has... At 60 k miles, it developed a torque converter "shudder"... At about 20 to 40 mph. You can do your own research down that rabbit hole... The dealer quoted us $10400.00 dollars, to the replace the "torque converter" and the transmission itself.. Just out of warranty.. After watching some Ford mechanics and trans guy videos, I learned I should changed that trans fluid at 25 to 30 k miles. The trans, needs two fluid changes minimum. You do what you did, then drive the car a bit. Then drain and change it again. Theirs like 6 more quarts than f dirty fluid in the torque converter and the valve body that will not just drain out. You must change it two or three times, to swap most of the fluid. These trans have a non serviceable internal filter/screen. You can only replace it, by removing the trans, and spitting the case. The only way, to protect this trans, and torque converter, is to change fluid, every 25 to 30 k miles, and doing it two or three times in a row... Once I changed to fluid this way, and added a friction modifier, our Edges drives like it was new. Do you own research, you have all, been warned.... Saved us thousands of dollars... 2500 miles since fluid change.. 🤞 God bless ...

    Just like 2020 Escape. One can see Fordtechmakuloco do all 3 power train oil changes there as well. Gives all torque specs and sealant PN. I agree on all three use Ford fluids. Once a year is overkill unless you are doing 30k/yr.

    10:37 When my Maverick was around 5,000 miles, I decided to check the PTU and rear diff fluid level by adding the appropriate fluid. The PTU is 75w-140 and the rear diff is 80w-90 ....both were able to hold an additional 150ml of fluid. So the PTU had next to no fluid in it. What got me thinking of adding fluid to both was the fact that the factory had all 4 tires overinflated to 44psi ... that's the maximum pressure on the sidewall 😄. Luckily I caught these issues early. The overinflated tires I fixed within the first day or two after I took delivery from the Ford dealer.

    • @just4ivaylo92
      @just4ivaylo92 12 дней назад

      The tires are overinflated on purpose for shipping. The dealer should have adjusted the pressure down as part of your pre delivery inspection.

    Industry practice is to change ALL vehicle gear box lubes @ 30K. Transmission-Differential-Transfer case-PTU ect. !

  • @ourv9603
    @ourv9603 9 месяцев назад

    NORMALLY, a shop will change the lube in ALL the gearboxes at the same time. 30,000mi is usually when. Front diff-rear diff-PTU & transmission filter & flush all done @ 30. Does your truck have limited slip? Those require special oil OR use standard gear oil & put in an limited slip additive. !

    • @TylerWardhaha
      @TylerWardhaha 9 месяцев назад

      The reason it’s different on the Mac is that it doesn’t have full time AWD, the rear rarely has much power going to it. Only the tremor package has locking diffs. Because the front diff(ptu in ford terminology) sees 90% of the power and is right next to the exhaust the fluid degrades significantly faster. The front underplate even has an air scoop to pull cool air over the PTU to keep it cool.

  • @powderriver2424

    I will definitely change out these fluids at 20K for sure. Since the rear especially doesn't hold much, I think that is on purpose however because I believe it's for economy reasons. Testing has hound that having less fluid aids in less drag in the gears aiding in more efficiency of the axle. That's just my theory anyways.

    • @TylerWardhaha
      @TylerWardhaha 9 месяцев назад

      Less fluid does equal less drag, 100%. It’s also not full time AWD, so the rear rarely sees any power going through it.
