I love it whenever Herman acts like a big child. Fred Gwynne's facial expressions were so great. Louis Nye gave an awesome performance and that dig about "My Mother the Car" was such great sarcasm.

I love hearing Herman try to talk like a beatnik.

Another great episode. So many funny lines. I think my favorite was the line "Get away from me girlie. I'm old enough to be your father!" Hearing Grandpa's voice coming out of a horse and delivering that line with his thick NY accent always slays me.

Herman really did a number on the front doors while doing Swan Lake. I wonder how many times they wrecked those doors, they must have had a stack of replacements. There were a lot of other parts of the house that got destroyed-- the mantel over the fireplace, and the bird carvings on the top of the newel posts, as well as numerous windows and mirrors.

8:03 I didn't get this joke-- Kid: "Hey Eddie, does it catch rats?" Eddie. "Only when it feels like dancing." Did anyone else get it?

Another great Munsters episode. I saw that Martian costume, the one which appears at the very end, on another show once. Can't remember if it was Twilight Zone, Lost in Space, or Star Trek. I always find it amusing when you see props, costumes, or sets being reused on old TV shows. The Munsters, Leave it to Beaver, Alfred Hitchcock, and many other shows were all made by the same studio so you often see sets and props get reused. You can even hear a lot of the same music from Leave it to Beaver get reused on Alfred Hitchcock.

One of the best Munsters episodes. The portrayal of the beatnik and hipster crowd was such spot-on satire. The Hermit's "poem" followed by Herman's recitation and the reaction from the beatniks was one of the best segments of the entire series. Loved it when Grandpa started blowing smoke out his ears--his facial expressions and movements were just hilarious. Anyone know what kind of car the Standells were driving?

So many great moments in this episode. I loved that little exchange about Grandpa being kicked out of Vassar.

23:55 “That sweet boy must see something in Marilyn that we don’t.” Dang, Lily, tell us how you really feel. This show constantly putting down Marilyn is the worst part. I know it’s supposed to be funny that she’s the ‘ugly’ duckling, but there’s gotta be a better way to make a joke about it without her family looking like dicks.

Another classic interaction between Gwynne and Lewis. They created 2 such colorful characters (green) with Herman and Grandpa and had such great comic chemistry together.

Actually not a bad little movie for what it is. Alan Napier was a very fine actor beyond just his role as Alfred on the iconic BATMAN TV series.

I think the theme music is co #1 with Sanford and Son and forever etched in my brain. It is something I have heard for 50 years. Every casino I go the only time I don't get upset losing is the "Munsters" slot machine.
