I made $28.56 the last week. So it’s not a livable income by any means. I *usually* make about $30 a month, and I made some changes to make more. But it’s still not a high $$ amount
Yeah I agree…RUclips pushes these videos about these huge earners in the algorithm so hard, I don’t think they want the videos about small earnings to go anywhere. It keeps people off of the site. I get a minimum 500 views on 90% of my shorts, and I did a short on this and got 20. In the hotspot for my viewers being online…sketchy.
@@Trad_Baylor you’ll make more money with brand deals. I did $250 worth of brand deals vs $28 in ad revenue in that week I think

Hiya mate, nice video. Ive found myself here after my Hotel California Solo cover has recently been taken down through a copyright strike. It was my most successful video on RUclips, and had around 82k views and was climbing around 1.5k per day, and had only been out for about 2 months. Its the first time I've had a cover taken down, though the video was not monetized and Im not even at the point where I'm making any money yet on my channel. The video used a unofficial backing track, with my own guitar on the top.
Wow! How ridiculous! Do you mind if I ask whether you appealed the claim and got RUclips involved, leading to a strike, or did it get taken down and you got hit with the claim? Either way it’s absolutely ridiculous. We need to be promoting artists to do covers- it helps the original artist out too. Looking forward to discussing more with you.
@@Trad_Baylor I did not appeal the original claim, as ive mostly been fine in the past with the owners claiming it and allowing the content to be unaffected, though I'm starting to wish I had. Yeah shit sucks unfortunately, I've gained quite a bit of subscribers from the video which was the ultimate goal, but I just dont see the need to have the video taken down :/
Man that is so ridiculous! I use the original tracks in every single one of my covers. Some lead to copyright claims, but generally I can share revenue with the artists. Never a copyright strike or video taken down! Never heard of that in that instance. I wonder if it was because you used a backing track that wasn’t from the original artist, but rather from a smaller artist that wasn’t ok with it? You absolutely should fight the copyright! I actually made a video on it recently, how to do it, why it’s important, etc.
@@Trad_Baylor I believe the copyright was from universal music group which would be the artist, as if it was the channel I used it from it would say they’re striking me I think? But yeah anyways I’m going to look into it, and will defos check out your video on that, thank you man.
