It was as if she needs to keep doing the same thing over and over in order to live her life. -"Bayonetta, you bury your loneliness deep down in your eyes. Sadness lies in your smile." Behind the sassy, confident, and intimidating witch is just a lost and soft girl with a very deep, traumatic, backstory. URGHJAHDSJH I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER💔💔
Doesn't the part "A Battlefield telling you who you are" refer to her discovering who she is by recovering her memories on the battlefields in Vigrid where the witch hunts took place?

In Context of Bayonetta 3 “Bayonetta you mystery, you came along destiny” Original Bayonetta make an unexpected come back and save little Cereza again from Singularity “Bayonetta you burry you loneliness deep down in your eyes sadness lies in your smile but victor shine in your eyes you’re still alive !” Implying how she is still alive and probably sad that everything in her original world is gone and had to bury her sadness and loneliness as she save what is left in the multiverse. Well it just my fan theory perspective And I believe this song was only planned for Bayonetta 1 and just worked out to be in 3 for both plots despite being a fan service for Bayonetta 1 fans actually.

Its intresting how certain parts of this song speak how lonely she is and how she she hides her sadness behind her smile,really changes the mine perception of her character and makes me sad games didnt explored that more(or at all),it makes reunion with jeanne much more meaningfull than we thought and explains why she went to that extend to rescue her in bayo 2 since shes basically only one person who cares about her and understands her
Jeanna literally is the ONLY person she has from her former life. Her childhood friend. EVERYONE she has ever know (besides balder) is dead but jeanne. It is pretty sad tbh.
they definitely explored her tragic past and the way her amnesia has effected her in 1 and 2.
