More useless info! I’ve got the same auto satellite but there angle is quite low to get a signal so won’t work with trees so if you want to use it make sure no trees about it get a digital one as standby or good internet to stream.

Really love your videos but it’s scary watching the young lady steering next to the tiller….one shopping trolley which whips it across and she’s in the canal. Always steer infront of the tiller. Looking forward to your adventures

This video came up in my recommendations, and I'm very glad it did. I'm not a boater by any stretch of the imagination, but I do love the ideology behind canals and Narrowboats. The most we have done is to hire a dayboat just to experience a very small insight into steering a boat. I must say I really enjoyed it. When I retired last year we did think seriously about a little holiday/weekend boat, but nothing really became available, so we bought a little camper instead 😅. I look forward to following your new adventures and best wishes for the season 🎄🎄

Beta Marine engine with low hours on it, when you started it the smoke was low, get it serviced, change all the gaskets and seals, regularly service everything and you will be fine, that engine will last you a lifetime and you can still get plenty of spare parts for them and the company is still going so I would say you got a good deal there with that one.

Great vlog very interesting, can see what you mean about the engine I did notice a trail of blue smoke behind you looked like sunburnt diesel or something, we had a John Deere tractor that ran like that with the blue smoke had the injectors replaced and the diesel pump sorted out and that made it bit better, don't think it will be a cheap fix but your brother will sort it...... Cheers guys

After years of hiring we bought just over two months ago. Funny that we didn’t have to hand it back at the end of our cruise. Enjoy your new life.

You remind me of when my wife and I sold up and bought our boat. You will never stop learning things. My best advice would be save up, buy some good quality solar panels. This was the game changer as continuose cruisers for us. You won’t regret joining the boat life. Best wishes.

Hi guy's, I live in those houses across the canal from the Greyhound pub and often watch the narrowboats make a complete hash of that U turn onto the Oxford canal, you negotiated it like experts, well done 👍.

Just as an interested follower may I make an observation please. I know you are only new to this lifestyle but can you please invest in some microphones please. A lot of your audio is missing because you are too far from the camera or you turn your heads. It will make for more interesting commentary. Just a thought. All the way from Australia. 11 mins ( the Greyhound) lovely food, Beer n coal fires, worth a go. Did well at the 2 junctions folks, can be tricky at first👏👏 that landslide happened early Spring so that section was closed until September. Nice one folks 🍺👍

Great new adventure. Im a postie in the isle of man so no point me owning a boat so i hire twice a year for 40 years. Was on the Ashby, Coventry/Oxford in Oct. Only advice i can give is take your time. Wish u all the very best on your new great adventure and go for a pint in the Greyhound. Just subbed👍🍺
