My hair is touching my shoulders now but when I started I had 2-3 inches of hair and now they are longer stronger fuller and BEAUTIFUL! This is what isn't talked about enough nor is there enough spaces to talk about the down sides of the journey. I did my research, I've taken care of my mothers locs for close to 20 years. You can research all you want, but nobody knows what that journey looks like unless they take it. Since having my locs, I've been dealing with seborrheic dermatitis. I didn't have scalp issues before this. Anytime I have asked for advice, I'm ignored because I'm not having the best relationship with my locs and I voice it. I have locs but I don't claim the loc community because there is too much judgement and I don't like that. People telling her to shut up because she wants length. Some people prefer long hair, some people prefer short. Its just a preference. There's nothing wrong with that.

She should wear a wig for the first 6 months if she really is that insecure. I’m plus size and not having my hair cover my broad shoulder’s was a big insecurity for me. I wore wigs for about 6-8 months until they stopped budding and hung down

The the rigid schedule is why I decided on diy micro locks instead that doesn’t fly in the military if I’m put somewhere where there’s no sisterloc Loctician done. Even if I do how far away? Then many don’t need new or transfer clients too much of a headache to think about. I want and need to do my hair whenever it’s needed in my opinion not to a schedule especially if the hair isn’t growing much in certain seasons
