Soul-stirring performance!
Someone like Heifetz was not really that interested in being a part of popular culture. But the war made everything different - if this horsing around would give pleasure to the young men risking their lives, he was up for it.
Exactly. So when Jack invited JH to his show again after the war, the latter replied "only for the troops".
I didn't know that.@@unvioloniste
Merci pour ce magnifique live. Votre transfert est excellent ! Xavier
Dear David,Happy New Year 2025! What a wonderful fiest to start a New Year! Thank You thousand times for sharing this absolutely unique treasure on so many levels! I wish you many new ,,finds'' in 2025!( very selfish wish) P.S May I ask who is behind the piano ?Those Schubert/ Wilhelmj and Grigo/Heifetz are absolutely out of this world and not only because of Mr. Heifetz.
Emanuel Bay at the piano.
@@heifetzcollection Thank you!
Dear Kasia, It was simply fantastic to hear from you again! I wish you a Happy & Blessed 2025 as well. I believe I can share more (amazing, hopefully) music gems this year.😉 Emanuel Bay had been a long-time collaborator with Heifetz before retiring from the stage in 1954, and was the pianist for most radio shows featuring Heifetz during the WWII including this one here.
@@unvioloniste Dear David, Thank you so much !🥰🥰🥰🥰 I can't wait for another surprising gem from your quite magical musical treasure chest! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing! Kasia
January 9. Ayla Erduran was laid to rest today. Sunny day in Istanbul. Rain expected in the weekend and in the second and third movements. 00:00 I. vivace ma non troppo 10:12 II. adagio 18:11 III. allegretto molto moderato
I'm so sorry to learn about Ayla's passing. She finally reunites with Brahms and other immortal music souls. She will always be remembered🙏❤
Probably my favorite violin concerto, i played it on my diploma concert in highschool and i still miss playing it.But it is so underated, it is definetly not performed enough and by far heifetzes interpretation is unrivaled. Thank you for sharing this precious recording!!!
she passed away yesterday 7 january 2025, she was 90, and a superb violonist
It is hard to believe that Aaron was in his mid seventies when he played this. He had lost none of his technique and profound musicality. Absolutely superb.
❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍

表演太棒了!很好听。 13:3
1st variation is really crazyyy
Wunderbar!
It seems both so brilliant yet so rushed I wonder if recording technology limited the time available. Other versions are longer, and one I looked significantly so. Any clues on this? But wow, what clean, spectacular and truly original playing.
Great performance. Too bad the sound is dynamically compressed at louder sections. Very unfortunate.
AN ABSOLTELY WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE.
One of the greatest and, sadly, among the least heralded of 20th century violinists… radiant, brilliant and deeply felt artistry.
Hi was a greate violinist and musician.
I recognized again that Rhythm is the Music at all. Mastro Kogan did it veryvery nice and beautiful as like as he is talking Chaconne. I would feel Asian people couldn't play as like as him. By the way, I hear Beethoven said "Tempo is Music" 92yrs.Japanese.
10 2 1962 Recorded. ( Limited edition of 250 ) . Kreisler uses 2 different Slavonic Dances ( opus 46 no 2 and a part of opus 72 no 1 ).
Máster of violin, for this people like Heifetz, Oistrakh, Kogan, Szeryng, Stern, etc, the violin don't have secrets.
When Heifetz was 65!?
Absolutely breathtaking!Thank you so much for sharing!
I borrowed speakers to hear this absolutely out of this world performance!Simply WONDERFUL! Thank you so very much for sharing! P.S. What a picture too!
Wonderful to hear that you enjoy it, Kasia. This is absolutely something to dream about❤

Magnificent! Thank you so very much for sharing one more of your musical Treasures!
I've been waiting a long time to hear this performance. Thanks so much for posting it!
Whaaaat????? 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
I've never tried to “understand” music. I always feel it, the way it echoes in my whole body. Heifetz's playing I can't feel and experience. I constantly want to analyze it on the level of logic. If Ferras, Kogan or Oistrakh immediately turn off the analytical part of my brain with their interpretations, this does not happen with Heifetz.
@@hartmutlindemann9735 I don't disagree with your perception at all. Spare my opinion.

You have a lot of Iwamoto's recordings! Suganuma-san is still alive, but I think Iwamoto-san is almost forgotten in Japan. So, I was surprised to hear this recording. What a beautiful sound! Thank you for uploading!
Thanks for your kind reply. It is exactly my wish that, with her music heard by more people, Iwamoto shall never be forgotten.
I'm guessing this was recorded after 1956 and before 1967 as it was during those years Lauris Jones conducted the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra. Although founded in 1934, it did not become a professional orchestra until around 1968. Jones was a fine, well respected musician. In those days, the orchestra was regarded as a community orchestra. It was close to 1960 I recall being a member of a Los Angeles community orchestra (comprised of amateur musicians, fine young musicians, and studio musicians) in which Camilla soloed. Later, I was principal cello when she played the Sibelius with the Idyllwild Tour Orchestra. In those days, she was talked of as being one of the greatest female violinists. It would have been appropriate to have simply identified her as one of the great violinists of the 20th century (without any gender qualifier).
absolutely stunning, most beautiful music i have ever heard in my life
You will not find anything more refined, beautiful, heart felt and honest. There is nobody finer.
Happy Birthday Maestro!
She has an exceptionally beautiful tone, passionate playing and long phrases. I think there are recordings of her performing Beethoven string quartets, and I would like to listen to them all.
A first class Desdemona.
Comme j'aime you tube!
Thanks for the upload. Such powerful playing. Just wondering if you have his Mozart PC 20
I just found this...She was out of this world!!!! Dear David ,Thank you so much for sharing her like this! Personally I love Her chaconne because of all the nuances in almost every note..There is a story, the sorrow she communicates is immense ... Just wonderful rendition... It would nice to have Heifetz cir 1924 with chacione when he was also 23 years old...
Dear Kasia, you are so observant of Iwamoto's playing. About Heifetz's Bach Chaconne, as far as I know, his earlist Chaconne recording dates back to 1935 when he was 34. Here it is (complete BWV 1004): ruclips.net/video/DS8fjErngP8/видео.html

Thank you so much for sharing this rare treasure ..every note is magical , so very personal, poetic, just out of this world.....Mr. Elman was here 72 years old ...
You're right. Btw it's quite fun hearing him tuning aloud during the orchestral tutti🤣
@@unvioloniste Yes, before cadenza... Maybe before concert he had to put last moment new strings... maybe weather, to humid that day ... his tuning before second movement is also long not just touch up.( He is struggling with intonation during entire concert ).. But yes it is quite fun...🥰
P.S. Dear David , I have a question but I don't know how to ask you.. .a while ago I discovered our rehearsal of some baroque sonata and since then like with Ysaye after Saint Saens I am searching for a composer, possibly Vivaldi .. I run thru all Vivaldi but did not find it...
@@AnnaKarkowskaVirtuoso Dear Kasia, sorry to hear that your search for Vivaldi didn't respond. I searched Vivaldi on your channel and found a brilliant Vivaldi sonata played by you and Ania. I enjoyed it so much (the Adagio is exquisite indeed)❤ ruclips.net/video/F6Wy7cEI91U/видео.html

Dear David, How wonderful! You found Rosand's younger Mendelssohn F !. They are out of this world!! Both of them!!!and someone who recorded them as well...Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Great to see your comment, Kasia! Indeed, they are perhaps one of the most formidable husband-wife violin-piano duos ever existed. This is from their last performance together. I LOVE the "Mendelssohn F", btw. It was Mr. Rosand's signature piece.
@@unviolonisteThank you for those additional informations! I had no idea.
I remember in one of my lessons with our fabulous teacher Mr Gingold saying “Is there really a better violinist then Yuval?” Only Heifetz…Yuval is the 2nd best in my opinion…that’s what Mr Gingold said
Thanks for your comment. The question of Mr. Gingold is exactly the same one I asked myself when I first heard Mr. Yaron's recording of the Bach solo cycle, when I already knew my answer at once. Both Mr. Yaron and JH are my favorite violinists (with no personal preference). By the way, it's been quite a long time since we last saw an update from Mr. Yaron's Ytb channel, to which I always so looking forward... Hope he's doing well anyway.
Великолепное исполнение, просто чудо какое-то, легко, свежо, изящно. Я в восторге. Б Р А В О !!!
