This a game changer for me Dylan
Nice explanation, Dylan 💫
OK, SO THIS HAS BEEN A GAME CHANGER FOR ME HOWEVER,....is it normal to continually hit play back at the end because when i think i have it down I freeze up and forget where the notes are?
Yeah, same as Part 1 .... I believe you need to give several seconds to warn of string change?
I’ll give more time on level 3 👍🏻
Really very well explained. Thanks. Like ur methodology.
Thank you!
Great lesson, but might have been a better idea to give the next string and note a few seconds in advance, to allow easier selection?
Keep up with the series man, this is great practice!
Glad you’re liking it!
more of a scale then a lick
Why must the strings be counted backwards
Great and an important lesson for us aspiring lead guitarists - I've been interested in chord tones for some time but at sixty years of age , for the life of me, I just can't seem to remember where all the notes are located the fretboard - wish there was an easy fix?? - any advice would be greatly appreciated - CHEERS!!
Here you go! 5 minutes a day ruclips.net/user/shortsIRro1P0GkFY?si=GPkBMBe8rRQqFC-n
@@dylanandrews739 Thanks a bunch Dylan! Keep up the great work - and wonderful playing!! - Cheers from Canada... - Drew
Thanks
Not that exotic considering its the leading tone and is very probably going to be present in the V7 of the tonality. Thats if you want to have a functional minor mode and not a modal one.
Cool
Great to know 😊
all i heard was the spongebob waiting track because it’s the same key
Great video, but it'd be better if we could just see all the chords in order, all at once so we knew which one was coming up next without having to commit your composition to memory. Just enlarge the chord currently being played. For more advanced players maybe that's not necessary but for beginners... Speeds up getting to jam along 😊 Ty for the video, subbed.
That’s a locrian scale bro, C# locrian
Definitely could be depends on what chord is being played if a D chord is played over it it’ll be D major
I have watched a ton of YT videos on this, yet still I struggle. I am hoping that this sequence of lessons is finally going to sort me out. Thank you for taking us through this step by step. Subbed !
Good try but you cant fool me i got eyes.
you kinda look like tyler durden lol
That’s a sick idea!
Very good!! Thank you very much!!!
I love chord inversions ... thank-you!!!
Thank-you .... great content and advice!!
Thank-you Dylan ... much appreciated!!
Thanks so much for this advice!!!
Very impressive .... well done Juan!!!
What an impressive performance from this talented young man .... I wish him well for his future success!!!
guys i hope he is joking cuz the last time i checked it was an e flat
What is an E flat?
@@dylanandrews739 well it can be a D# but the basic chord u were playing is a D major. They are 2 very different chords
@@guitarboy1.011the 5th fret 5th string is a D not D#
whats the recommended technique for pulloffs? sometimes when i pull off i hit other strings and it makes unwanted noise and ringing
Is this satire?
It's not the same chord though, but it is a D. Just not a D major... There is a way to play it higher up though, look up the chords used in the acoustic section of "Sidewinder" - A7X. One of them is a D minor, and if you know anything about music theory, which you should, you can easily turn it into a D major
It is D if you use 4 of your fingers to play it. Simply move the g string 2 frets too.
did not expect to see a comment about avenged sevenfold, especially sidewinder (one of my favorites haha) on this short. in sidewinder its a barchord that is used tho, and not an open string chord (if im not mistaken). but yeah its a D(add9,add11) and not a D Major. Edit: Could also be a Em9
A man of culture i see
Thanks bro this is awesome !
A minor 9 wouldn't be a 1 3 5 7 9 it would be a 1 b3 5 b7 9
When you talk about minor chords the flats are assumed
@@dylanandrews739 ok I see thanks
Thanks Dylan ,great confidence building practical lesson ....
Dadd2add4no5 such a weird chord or maybe a Emin7add9no5 if you play all the strings.
I can't contort my wrist and fingers like that, so I play piano instead, which is also a string instrument. I kept trying and trying but in no way was guitar playing ever going to feel remotely good. I could do stuff on a ukelele but even that hurt like hell. People say it's a matter of time, I say it's a matter of denial.
now i wish i knew that earlier 😭 thanks boss 🙌🙌
This concept really interests me and I feel this is awesome. Could you please breakdown what you played? Exactly after what note should we reverse? Please explain.
Yup. 👍
This guy is on a MUCH higher level than me. But, I’m loving the tips and will use these videos as a goal.
wow ive played guitar for over 10 years and the last few years ive stagnated and i was just saying to my friend that this is the skill im lacking. thank you so much you have made a man soo happy today. ive been doing this with the pentatonic for a long time but never really understood what i was doing when it sounded good. so many dominos just fell into place.

This was great can't wait for the next couple of lessons
Next level is coming very soon!
I use my ear. You know when you’re there. It’s not rocket science.
This is for people just starting who don’t have an ear yet
This really is a fantastic approach to understanding and building solos, a sculptor always builds a wire frame first and then slowly adds material on the frame this is the same principle. I am a fairly accomplished guitar player but wish I had seen this lesson in my early days it would have helped me understand the guitar so much quicker …this is a brilliant lesson Dylan it really is, best wishes from the UK….
Thank you❤
This is the best guitar lesson till now, thanks
Kind of reminds me of peanuts Great sounding chords Sir
Great for players starting to explore TY
