    Steven, good video on the Barista Pro espresso machine. I see your video is 2 yrs old. I got one a month ago on Amazon for $679. Breville did a sale which lasted 2wks. I am still learning about making a good espresso. The dial in process is a hobby, I enjoy doing it. Agree, some aftermarket tools help with the making of a good espresso. I got the Normcore portafilter, IMS basket, WDT tool, distribution, tamper, dosing cup. I replaced the bean hopper with a FusedLine single dose hopper, the bellows helps with retention. I use 18g dose, medium roast, I use a puck screen to keep the shower head clean and improve water flow.I definitely recommends the Barista PRO, specially it comes with upgraded Baratza grinder.

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 5 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Since I bought this machine, I’ve tried many of the products you mentioned, and settled on a very similar workflow. It’s held up very well as long as you remember to follow the cleaning cycles it suggests, and I’m enjoying the Pro just as much as when I first bought it, if not more. Also, $679 is a great deal! Don’t forget to redeem your free beans (if they still run that promo)

    I see that you get a grade for your success in the exam - is the grade on top of the certificate or is it only for your own knowlage? One more thing I feel like the CKA is indeed pretty impressive inside the resume - after completing it - what other exams do you think would help my/your career as a devops engineer? Thought about completing AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional and maybe GitLab Certified CI/CD Associate... What do you think Thank you so much!!

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 8 месяцев назад

      Hi sorry for the late reply! The grade is only for your own knowledge (to gauge your proficiency more than just a pass/fail). From others I've talked to, the CKA definitely feels like the most valuable and recognizable certification. I've heard good things about the AWS courses, especially given how widely used AWS is in the software industry. My company currently uses AWS and I plan on pursuing more certifications in it. Hope this helps, thanks for the question!

      Hi, I forget the exact exam topics, but it was reflective of the domains explained here: training.linuxfoundation.org/certification/certified-kubernetes-administrator-cka/ At a high level, these are the areas/skills I would encourage you to focus on: - navigating a terminal shell + using vim + using grep to filter output - using kubectl + knowing the api resources + working with yaml and jsonpath - run a pod + mount a pv via pvc + schedule podAntiAffinity - schedule and drain nodes + upgrade etcd/k8s - create deployments + assign service accounts - ssh onto nodes + restart kubelet/processes + etcd backup - create and apply secrets

      Since I get paid on a biweekly basis, I wanted to show how each paycheck gets "spent" for the sake of the video. When it comes to my actual budgeting, I plan on a monthly basis which is 2 paychecks, so I pretty much just divided those values in half for the vid

    @StevenShapiro Hello , I am a final year post graduate student in my final semester , beginner in kubernetes having 6months of experience. But now I am currently looking for a job in DevOps , Cloud Native , SRE Domains and hence looking for doing a certification . Which certification would you suggest KCNA or CKA as for which would maximize my chances of getting job in the above mentioned domains. Note - I have 2-3 months for preparation and can devote 1 hr on daily basis . Would this suffice for cka ? Would love your insights and reason behind your choices on this. I am really confused 😅!!!

    • @shubhamchaudhari6829
      @shubhamchaudhari6829 9 месяцев назад

      Hello , Steven can you tell me whether should I give kcna or directly move to cka ? Also is kcna recognised by the recruiters worldwide?

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 9 месяцев назад

      @@shubhamchaudhari6829 Hi, sorry for the late reply! If I'm being honest, I had never heard of the KCNA before you brought it up, so I'm not sure if recruiters recognize it. To maximize getting a job, I would definitely recommend the CKA. If you are unsure if you are ready for the CKA, you can always start with the CKAD which is an easier subset of the topics covered on the CKA. Also, you're selling yourself short calling yourself a beginner with 6 months of experience - after you spend your 2-3 months preparing, I would try out the killer.sh practice exam and gauge how you do. If you are able to get ~30% right on your first practice attempt, I think you have the foundation to continue preparing and pass the CKA!

      Yes you can schedule the exam any time you want within 1 year, but you also must take the retake within the same year window. Full details are here docs.linuxfoundation.org/tc-docs/certification/lf-handbook2/scheduling-or-rescheduling-an-exam , glad to help!

      I’m sorry!! 🥲 If I can give any advice with less than a week to prepare, it would be: - Focus on the “easier” questions, specifically getting partial credit on questions even if you aren’t able to fully answer them - Practice time management and make sure you at least make an attempt at every question - Don’t stress yourself out! Most people don’t pass on their first attempt, so just do your best and don’t put too much pressure on yourself ❤ Good luck!!!

      Great point! What set did you upgrade to?

  • @rs1753
    @rs1753 10 месяцев назад

    I feel like new clubs have their lofts strengthened so for example a PW would play as a 9 iron. This makes people think yhey are hitting it longer. If you need to hit a 7 iron 170 yard just use a 6 iron. My PW is 46 degress but mordern clubs are up to 41 deg now. I hit my PW 110 but at 41 id hit it 130. Im happy to hit my 9 iron 130. Comes down to forgiveness? And am assuming your able to easily hit these solid everytime?.

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 10 месяцев назад

      You're definitely right! In the player's distance category, you see stronger lofts to encourage distance, since it's assumed that you can get the ball off the ground without needing extra forgiveness It is interesting however, that as you move into the category of blade and player's irons, the lofts get less aggressive for maximum feel and workability. Pro's are already hitting the ball insanely far regardless of loft, so loft angles are more "normal" in comparison to older irons I hit the clubs decently well, but I still take full advantage of their forgiveness for off-center strikes. They are probably the most aggressive clubs I should be playing given my current skill level

    • @atamagashock
      @atamagashock 4 месяца назад

      Facts, they definitely will give you some distance over other clubs that have the same loft. But like you said a 7 iron at 30.5 degrees is really just a 6 iron. However hitting a 6 iron 200+ is not normal for 99% of golfers.

    • @cozey06
      @cozey06 2 месяца назад

      This is a fact, my p790 4 iron goes further then my old 3 iron (feel competition blades) my 7 iron is going 170ish now which is mad.. last round I carried a 6 iron 210 over the back on a par 5.. was convinced the yards were wrong

    Awesome video! Funhavers stuff looks awesome, will be checking them out! Currently gaming PXG 0211s, wish I was gaming PXG 0211s just more often. More important than which iron you’re playing is getting fitted. Appropriate lie angle and shaft choice would take ~6 strokes off the average high handicapper’s game.

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 10 месяцев назад

      You’re so right about getting fitted! Glad you enjoyed the vid! I haven’t been fit yet for a putter or driver yet, so that’s probably next on my list (and also where I lose the most strokes) I’ve actually never played PXG clubs, but I’ve heard really good things about them

    • @StevenShapiro
      @StevenShapiro 10 месяцев назад

      Game improvement irons are designed for maximum distance and launch angle, usually at the tradeoff of distance and spin. They’re designed for beginners that tend to struggle with hitting the ball consistently in the center of the face For someone with a peak physique like yourself, you should prioritize confidence and visual appearance above all
