Trail cam captures elk, deer, and two curious BLACK BEARS in Oregon!
I left my motion activated trail camera on a tree far away from any roads or trails, for 4 weeks during the springtime, and captured a good amount of wildlife passing by! Eventually a young black bear tries to get to my camera, but thankfully it couldn't reach it very well. Hope you enjoy the footage!

Show & Tell: a Chanterelle "Honey Hole" Found on the Oregon Coast!
Просмотров 25312 часов назад
Showing a nook full of countless little chanterelles (Cantharellus species mushrooms) I found on the Oregon Coast today, September 7, 2024 in doug fir forest... Underground, sort of. This nook was LOADED with little pins that were so small, they were almost indiscernible to the naked eye. I loved seeing this, because... imagine how, in most places with some needle duff, these mushroom pins migh...

The minute you put Ketchup 😮 in you're dish I lost my appetite !
@@crabber59 good thing I didn't invite you to eat at my table then!
In bear country we people are the guest, not the other way around. 😊
Sure alot of wildlife. Great spot for trail cam .
It was amazing how much wildlife uses that area as their travel path! Best spot I've found so far, after playing with the trail camera for almost a year. Thanks for the comments miss Julia! 🤗💕 I hope you've been well!!
Awesome! Found my first chanterelle honey hole as well...not as literal as yours, but I posted a video of it
@@southpawscientific4122 I went and peeped your video! Looks like a good time! 🙌🙌🙌
Awesome lady!
Thanks 😃🙌
Mushrooms grow in surprising places.
Genuine question out of interest in how the rules work in USA. I'm not intending to use this information to break any laws but if a tourist was hiking and wildcamping in this area without a permit what happens to them if caught?
@@adamcraig1468 worst case scenario, you could get issued an expensive fine if they catch you
Nice Video. I spent a lot of summers hike that area 50 years ago it's sad the see the wildfire destruction.
Hi, thanks for the comment! Yeah, the forest recovery is soo slow up there... My imagination always runs wild trying to envision what it might have looked like before the fire. I haven't ever come across any pictures of the lakes from pre-wildfire era
@@kayla_sulak It will take time the growing season is short. There are plenty of other spots in Oregon to visit
Another good one Kayla! (I watched them in reverse order) You must be in tremendous shape with all the hiking you've been doing. 😉
Great video Kayla! Boy the rockies sure live up to their name there. That was a monster brown!
@@charliequincy8884 thanks for checking it out and for leaving me some feedback, Charlie!! You rock! Mason said that brown trout put up a rowdy fight for a good 10-15 minutes before he got it to shore- good times!

@@mitchwebb2939 yess! It was mysterious for a long time, until I randomly caught wind of an opportunity to sign up for this a few days ago!
What if next time you did on on a plain bagel? Kinda like those frozen pizza bagel bites?😮
@@bryrye4545 it could be done! I really like how the sourdough English muffins crisp up in some hot oil... Tastes just like an actual pizza crust to me! :-D
What type of poles and bait do you specifically use? Are they pretty backpacker friendly? I've done this hike once in the past and always thought it would be a great place to go fishing but i've never brought a pole with me backpacking before, a little intimidated to try.
@@collegefraud1308 I use a basic 6' spinning reel rod that collapses into two pieces, and I figured out a way to secure it to my backpack without a protective case, although they do make rod cases (it's a cheap $25 pole so I'm not too worried about it getting beaten up on hikes). For bait, I mostly use a bottom fishing setup with powerbait... It isn't great if you plan to release fish, since they tend to gulp the hook straight into their belly, so these days I only use it if I'm done wasting time and want to catch dinner. It's hard to keep worms alive in the heat... I've seen people harvest random bugs like moths or crickets to use as bait with a floating bobber, too. These days I mostly cast with bladed spinner lures, like Rooster Tail or Panther Martin, before I switch over to bait fishing
@@collegefraud1308 but basically I just bring my pole, a mini tackle box with a few spinner lures and extra hooks/split shot/etc, maybe a small jar of bait nuggets or whatever, a pocket knife, and the most lightweight set of pliers I could find. That's the whole setup
@@kayla_sulak Thanks for your thorough reply, this will be my first time trying by myself w/o a man haha, i'm excited.
Nice report. You guys have got that trail food dialed in!
@@MosquitoFood hey thanks!! Been trying to experiment a lot with the trail meals! 🤠👍

@@AZAbsolute it normally doesn't melt out until late June at that elevation. There's still a lot of snow in the foothills as you get higher up and closer to Mt Jefferson
I just love your content❤ keep it coming

We went out today along Quartzville road did not find any shrooms other than some dried up Oysters
@@johnhobbs7697 thanks for the intel! I'm guessing that area won't start having a lot of mushrooms til autumn's wetter weather returns. It's definitely worth poking around on the coast all summer, if you make it over there!
@@kayla_sulak Yep will do! love to get some razor clams and dungy"s too Maybe a salmon or steelhead. Love your channel I like to cook also! we did find some blue huckleberries ( not ripe yet ) and some lowbush blackberries just starting to ripen! We got a couple handful's to eat

Even just one chanterelle adds a lot of flavor to a dish! You found a nice haul!
