I crossed paths with Iain at the Oulton Park Gold Cup in July 2024, he was attending the auction. I spoke to him and told him how much I enjoy his YT content. He was very gracious and friendly and told me he was delighted to receive positive feedback. Very genuine and affable- Top Bloke! :)
Iain Tyrrell Benson .....hmmmm
For sure, it hit a Barbados pot hole. They are legendary
Love that fellow. Real class act.

Sir Iain❣️ Just love Your softspokedness. On top of Your Knowledge! 'They don't make'm like that anymore...', nor the cars, nor the Experts... Hat's off 🎩
Might be time to revisit the values on these now.
Fantastic set of videos. Will there be any more?
Thank you for a very interesting video , I really wonder what my LHD 1970 246 GT would be worth now I have heard that a 1970 has a little more value because it was on the cross over from a 206 , my car had the knock on wheels I believe 1970 was the only year that the 246 had that , how I wished I had kept the car I sold back in about 1984 in Canada the car ended up in the USA.
I love the early Dino story , I was very lucky to buy a LHD 1970 GT it had the knock on wheel spinners for 5000 pounds , I believe they are quite rare as they were on the cross over from 206 to the 246 I moved to Canada shipped the car and a few years later sold it to pay off my house the car went to the USA. How I wished I had kept the car.
You'll never see Ian and Kier Starmer in the same room.......
Sorry! Ian Tyrell forgot the worst part of the original engine. The camshafts wore out because of zero oilline into the cylinder head! No problem for a racing engine which will be tear out after each race, but on a street cars??? Engine overhault in this original configuration no later than every 70-80.000 km. (I´m here no kidding) A big applause for Enzo´s callousness! Maybe therefore he named it after his sick son DINO! Sorry, for my blashemic joke to all members of the "Frightend black horse on peeing ground" religion!
Bond , Iain Bond ... un shakin , un stirred ...
Very nice. If I win the lotto guess which car I shall buy....and guess who might service it!!
I want Ian for prime minister
what is that exquisite dark ruby red vehicle at 0:17 and again at 7:43? I can't make out any badge on the boot or rear gorgeous lines: simple and elegant thnx
Lamborghini 350GT
@@ivoredwards3021 Ivor- many thanks for supplying that info! there's another, in a beautiful sky blue, that appears in the background of one of Harry's Garage series ... again, such an arresting, beautiful design
@@doctorpatient519 Everyone has their stories. Years back, in California, I was at an auction. They had a 400GT. It ran great, had a very nice interior, a few rough spots on the paint--nothing that would take it away from being a fine driver. I put a bid on it, but then it went too high for me at the time. It went for $14,000. :-(. The truth was I had $10,000 and that was my limit at that time. Later, I had a shot to outright buy a Dual Ghia, but I passed on that one too...SMH.
Such an incredible guy.
please get a larger shirt
What a dumb set of questions to put to somone at that level.
Wonderful stories .
lain Tyrrell speaks with such poise that he sounds like as if he is reading from a script. I wish I could speak like he does.
I agree - he has a theatre background so that explains a bit
A man like Iain thrives and survives on his reputation,,, which is unimpeachable. That's how you know the guy will always give you the unvarnished truth. Love seeing the guy in action and giving interviews like this.
Formula One is Monte Carlo.
Wonderful stuff, just great! For the person who has made the texts a short crash course to automotive vocabulary is recommended.
i am in luck! my postercar and the one i would buy if i had the money, is the cheapest. i just love the 25th anniversary countach.
The only mystery is Chassis 39.
So whats the name/code of the color of this Espada? I actually love it
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.... :-((
you and your stupid comments about classic cars get banned from public streets what bullshit !!!!! i own a Dino in Germany since more then 12 years and i drive it and i love it...and i take it to italy in 2025 for a long road trip.i think your just jealous , that you cannot afford one ..and thats why you bring out this bullshit and false trues. its not the first time i read your idiotic comments on here!!!!!!!
I love the way Mr. Tyrrell speaks English. No way I'll ever miss a word he says - although I am German😂.
Does Ian have a connection to Terrell racing, Ken & bob
"espada shirt retroracingshirt" T-SHIRT
For him to say the 246 GT is not desirable seems biased.
mr tyrrell very amicable chap !
I will never for get the day i saw a white Lamborghini Countach drive past me at speed .. that shape the noise that crazy wing blew my mind , a true spaceship for the road ...... i knew there and then i would be a Lamborghini fan forever i have driven a few lambos, Ferraris , Porsches arieal atoms etc on driving experiences . And the lambos are so special ..... also i could listen to iain tyrrell all day long ......
Espada is the most beautiful of all Lamborghinis in my opinion.
I have won the lottery( in a sense), by finding your channel Ian! Absolutely the best presentation regarding to automotive things (Harry’s is similar) I have ever seen. You are out of this world in your in your knowledge and ability to tell “the story” In a hugely viewer friendly manner. Loving every upload. Thank you.
I need to exercise openness here! I’d love to be able to purchase ANY Lamborghini but I’m a bit skint! This upload (as usual) is superb. Love every single one. I’m escaping from(my personal horrible)reality to be honest by indulging in your magnificent, riveting posts. Love your work. Astonishing that other folk attempt similar types of content but go the” loud music aggressive approach “ which genuine car enthusiasts don’t want. Please keep up your superb work.
“ I’m friends with his chief pilot”!! It’s another word, it really is. Great stuff.
What an incredible wealth of knowledge. Such an interesting bloke
Stunning vehicle, beautiful sound..... But heard they were trash to drive
Amazing how some cars have shot up so much.if you bought an f1 for 600,000 when new and said to people this an investment they would think your nuts and told you to invest in property instead but after 25 years have mutipled your money around 45 X
Warning-There's a few of Harrys fan bois here. "Just sayin'. " Ol' mumbles has his bois...
It's a military thing.increasing the build number, demoralises yo'enemies!
In the late 70s I bought a Dino Spider by phone from a well known dealer across the country. A friend and I flew across the country after the Christmas season (I worked in the retail sector) to retrieve the car. A friend of mine who had met us at the airport got a ride in the car, and my companion got a ride in the car but by the time it was my turn, the car wouldn’t shift any more. The seller got under the car to fix it, but between the shifter, and wood screws coming out through the floor, I had had enough. I asked for my money back, and I never even got to sit in the car. And that was the last Ferrari I owned, albeit briefly.
Excellent again! Thank you
I like your work and I highly appreciate mr Tyrrell 😊👍
Great video. We are releasing a video next week of a first 200 E type found in a garden for over 35 years. Thanks for sharing.
