Sweet! Yeah my transmission(GM Reman) has been replaced, and the motor(appears original) does make some noise. It did have a rear main seal put in it. I may have mentioned that in the video. It has had a hard life being that it was from NYC and was a police truck! I am sure it has tons of idle hours and something that I didn't disclose is the mileage to this truck is actually really unknown(previous owner replaced the cluster). What I do know is that the mileage is relatively close to correct(long story as to how I know that). Most likely it is actually higher than what my cluster says. All of that being said it has been a great truck! It just did a close to equal trip to PA and was flawless!

@@dloc6198 Possibly. Remember there are a few different components that can cause it to go into limp.

Yep. Now pushing 250k and thing has towed a bunch more cars and been really good to me for the most part. Had a heater hose elbow blow out on me, but other than that it has been very good.

As you saw, I'm half past blind nowadays, so I can no longer run them thus I will happily support younger folks enjoying themselves doing it. When It comes time, I will probably cut you a deal on that avalanche to smash too, so don't be surprised when he rust gets to it, that I offer it to you.

Yeah, I put a transmission in it. A couple months later the motor blew up. Now it has a "new" transmission and a "new" engine. We just got it back on the road, so hopefully this time it holds up.

@@Balrog-tf3bg Yeah, hopefully this one lasts. We just put a 3400 into it(the one that came in the early 2000's impala's). We didn't want to mess with the brittle camshafts in the 3100's anymore. With luck the transmission will hold up to it.

My brother sold this car unfortunately. He bought a Buick Lucerne and this one ended up going down the road. It was a great car. Should have held onto it. Either way it appears that it went to a good home and hopefully will be ran for years to come. After he had the Lucerne for awhile he wanted a winter rat so he bought a Buick Lacrosse(also being a w-body). That car has been good to him as well so far. I think the worst part about it is the fact that both these buicks are faster than that monte carlo was lol.

@@dkettlewood Yeah a lot of drivers will understand. I talked to a couple of people who watched this video and they initially thought it was sarcastic. I would normally hit him and not really worry about it, but I was genuinely worried about the guys safety. The strut tower actually came within mere inches of his seat! His gas tank also was really close to getting hit too. I am really glad I didn't just keep hitting him. He thanked me after and we were all laughing and having a great time. You will get that W one day I promise!

@@derbydog02my entire day at my home derby I was nervous about my tank getting wrecked, but somehow it just moved with the body of the car. I miss that Camry a lot in the past month. It got me 3 heat wins and back to back 4ths. Was a great one!

Well I am torn between the no number ford and the number 3 Dodge Grand Caravan. I believe the mad dog went to the ford, which I think was a decent call. Him making a lot of noise probably did aid the situation too. Sometimes you just got to make a call and you are gonna have people disagree, but that is what it is. Either way I am glad I didn't have to make that call at the time. I do have to say that Saturn early on did make some good hits, but didn't continue long enough to be considered I don't think.

No, you can buy an ignition switch that comes with keys(most auto parts stores have the ignition switch with keys). Now for the door you will have to keep the original key obviously to manually unlock and lock the door, but it is a relatively simple fix.
