Thanks for your question! I personally don’t think that the name FONTEGARA has any direct connection to this work . My guess is that the music Ensemble may have been named “FONTEGARA”, perhaps after the Baroque treatise covering recorder playing by Silvestro Ganassi (1535), as you correctly point. Since this Ensemble is specialized on music from the XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries, their name “FONTEGARA” would make good sense.
Carmen was musically gifted since I met her at the age of 5!
Esta obra la tocamos para conmemorar los 70 años de nuestro querido Arturo Márquez. La Danza del mediodía es en sí una danza más de la serie de sus famosos danzones. El nombre alude, no a un instante del día, sino a que Arturo sintió que en ese momento del año de 1996 coincidían la mitad de su vida y el cenit de su carrera, es decir, el punto más alto de su creatividad, al menos hasta ese momento. Como consecuencia lógica, recientemente compuso el Concierto de Otoño para trompeta y orquesta, como reflexión de sentirse inmerso en la madurez plena, cosechando el fruto de su trabajo creativo a lo largo de su vida y de su brillantísima carrera.
