Oh my goodness, this had me tearing up. If I'm ever even close to this monument, I will go out of my way to see it. Thanks for sharing this. Peggy in Tucson
Yes, very tragic.
Montana has never had a golden day ever.

Amazing, absolutely unbelievable
Really interesting

Ditto. Ditto.

Yes!
I love history, very few things are better than those historical forts. If I ever stop driving OTR, I've always wanted to be involved in "Living History"
That would be fun.
Want to go there!
Get on I10.
I love exploring historic places like these! Very cool video!❤❤
Thank you very much.
“This dude is straight up nuts……..watch my six…..” Sorry to Mr Kyle and Mr Littlefield, but they literally knew they were handing guns to a psychopath and then they together walked in front of that psycho together. What happened to watch my 6? What happened to NOT GIVING GUNS TO MENTALLY UNSTABLE PEOPLE? I’m saddened that these 2 men did so little to avoid this dangerous and eventually deadly situation which cost them their lives.
Truly sad.
@antiheropodcast
I loved touring this fort, such awesome history!
I was pleasantly surprised during our visit.
I love seeing these old places. You said no mosquitoes, but what do you need to watch for 😊. I enjoy the tour guides who reenact the time period of their historical sites. Thank you for the tour.
No mosquitoes in the winter. Watch out in the summertime.
@UnclassicRoadTrip-hj5pv 😔, I guess good things can't last forever. I'll take the mosquitoes over gators, snakes, etc. 😊 if they are an option.

Tea kettle Junction looks neat!
When you go be sure and take a kettle.
Hello Good Folks. Thanks for this calm, informative video. Some real insights, especially how the dynamic weather will always be altering the desert. In my view, too many RUclips channels are poorly informed and shallow when sharing "tips" on hiking, camping, offroading etc. It's almost as if they don't write an outline and just start talking when the camera comes on. 😂 (This sounds snarkier than I intended. Sorry.) I've been lucky enough to kick around wide areas of Death Valley since the 1990s. But as you advise, prepare before showing up. It's a dynamic place. Two favorite but "remote" spots: Ibex Dunes (way down in the SE corner) and the Geologist Cabin near Striped Butte (SW corner) - visited by the tragic German family in the summer of 1996. Best to All and get on out there. 🫵
Appreciate your comments. We will investigate your two favorite remote spots.
COOL!
This is so cool!

The answer is at the end of the full video.
Not closed.
Too bad some really good parts are closed. And a lot of roads.
Ya Death Valley Is epic, Me and my late wife went hear every year. Almost 30 years of trips. We hiked 19 different canyons,Some with ropes and repelling. climbed 12 peaks And have been in every corner. From north to south. What is crazy is there is still stuff on the list!! Most of it is not for the average visiter. But so much here is! Just start at your comfort level and remember its a BIG Place! Tell someone were you are going! Help could be a long way off.Dont rely on cell phones! Pro tip fill up your gas every tine you can! Just did my first solo trip. climbed tin MT.a sad but epic day!!
Good for you. Glad y'all got to do so much. It is an AWESOME place.
That's a hard video, but we need it. We need a reminder of what our freedom costs. I had 3 brothers in WW2. I am young enough to be a daughter to any one of them. I've had the chance to observe men who have come home from war. The closer they were to war, the more sobering their expressions could be. My oldest brother was a Marine. He would not talk about his battles. Another brother was Army. He, too, was quiet. The 3rd was Navy & didn't see the war up close. His demeanor was more jovial. All our military deserve our gratitude for what they did. My brothers have all passed in their elder years now, but we were thankful they came home whole & proud of their service. Thank you for this video. It's a shame his life was taken in such a meaningless way.
I appreciate your heartfelt comments.
Mexico is famous for its Mayan and Aztec pyramids and is in North America. Interesting that there are structures like this so far north in the US. Are these buildings or just earthworks?
They claim earthworks, but who knows.

30+ trips for myself. All via Motorbike with Rented Jeeps when I got there. It is truly amazing.

@@UnclassicRoadTrip-hj5pv Don't plan on it. Figure will spread my ashes there :)
@@jp-johnson-writer We stumbled across an Urn on one of our adventures there. Guess they felt the same way you do.
Ha that's so awesome. DV is my favorite place too. I've been all over it over the course of many many visits.
The place is habit forming.LOL
My answer too. Best place ever, anywhere.
But, let's keep it a secret so that it stays wonderful.
Hello from Alaska my friends, 9 degrees here, I would love some warm sunshine 🌞
Sending some priority mail tomorrow. Alaska is amazing too.
I was one of the engineers that did the design for the Hurricane Hillary damage. I got to visit the park in October of 2023 when it was closed and see the massive damage to Emigrant Canyon Road. The pictures that Death Valley has released just don't really convey how bad the damage was out there. www.nps.gov/deva/learn/news/emigrant-road-closed-01-06-2025.htm www.nps.gov/deva/learn/news/2024-03-09.htm www.nps.gov/deva/planyourvisit/west-side-road.htm
I lived in DV for about a year, really great experience, need to go back but dang it gets hot, 125° f by 10AM, 4wd and Load E tires are absolute necessitys for the best experience
Lucky you!!
It was the Hope (pronounced Ho P) people that built them, that's been known for at least two centuries 100% fact, they also built mounds in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky.
Not surprised with anything about these types of places.
I love you ! I'm so glad I found this channel 🎉
Very interesting!
As a child, my family stopped many times in Gettysburg. It was on the way to Grandma house. There is so much history preserved there. We took our children to the museum, where there were recordings describing battles & a map that would light up in areas where the described armies were positioned. It's a great flip-flop place or sneakers. 😊

The museum has been closed for several years.
These types of projects seem to take forever.
Seriously???, couldn't it have a better name. The Colored soil is fascinating. I'm holding to the expression if the kitchen is to hot, get out!! I'm staying out. The devil's kitchen is not a place I want to be. 😅
It's unbelievable how many places have this kind of name.

I had no idea that Death Valley was so big and had so much. In my ignorance I thought it was just a really hot small valley in Southern California! It's amazing. Thanks for sharing! Peggy in Tucson
I only showed a fraction of what is out there.
Very interesting. Are the rangers able to maintain the castle with the area closed? The sky must be beautiful at night. Is there any flowering vegetation? Love my armchair visit after seeing that snake 😊
I'm sure it is well taken care of. It required a lot of work also. The night sky is awesome. Most of the year something is blooming out there.
There is a consrvancy working onbthe castle and it's contents; for example, the organ is being refurbished. Unfortunately, the original garage, being used as a cafetria and gift shop caught on fire during the renovation and burned down.
@@Helo_rides_for_commies This is taking way too long.

Hopefully it will be open soon.
