thanks for the feedback. The spot was not my choice. This is where she was positioned and doing her thing when I came across her and that is the spot she basks every time she is in the area. So, I had no say on the background or spot and being a busy street I was limited as to where I could stand and was right on the edge of the pavement with cars and buses behind me.

In both circumstances, it would not have made sense to use those features. I have been overwhelmed by shoots and editing work for clients so I have not had the opportunity to shoot the video and or images for that video. So it will come as soon as I have delivered work for my clients.

Hi Paul Kretz, I am going to be doing a new video of this in 1080p and shooting on a full frame mirrorless camera. I will also get into the soft focus feature as I haven't delved into it yet. So it will be an exploration of that. Thanks for the feedback and tips. It is much appreciated.

Hi Dilpreet Singh, this is an extremely good prime lens. There is no comparison with the budget zoom lenses. Even at US $200, it is still a good price for that lens. You won't have the ability to zoom but you can zoom in or out with your feet. The aperture for this lens is f2.8. with most budget lenses they normally start at about f4 or f3.5 at the widest end and end up at F5.6 or 6.7. That means soft focus lens lets in a lot more light than your budget zooms, and that allows you to shoot at lower ISO speeds and higher shutter speeds which means the images will be cleaner, sharper, have more contrast, etc. Besides, you cannot recreate an F2.8 look at F4 or F5.6. because it has less glass it is sharper than budget zoom lenses. If you have the opportunity to test the lens out first, then try it and you will see the difference this lens will make to your images. this lens will put you miles ahead than those budget zoom lenses. Trust me on that. I wish I knew that when I was starting. All the best. Update me when you get the lens and let me know what you think. This is the best investment you are going to make so early in your career and you won't regret it.

I am going to reshoot the video at some point as I have projects I am currently working on. Thanks for the feedback. I think it deserves it. The video didn't do the lens that much justice. I might also demonstrate the soft focus features too to show it's full capabilities.

@Dave Kelly thanks a lot for the feedback. RUclips was once very lenient. I am not sure how it allowed me to play those tracks back to back. These days they are a lot stricter but listening back to this, the soundyracks were awesome. I actually enjoyed watching it back and cringing at my earlier attempts. Anyway, I was lucky that I found this lens in a charity shop. In fact, I bought all three of them including a Pentax 50mm F1.7 and Pentax 135mm f3.5 lens (K mount) for £15. That was way before i had even bought a DSLR or had the money too. I knew that one day I was going to own one and I knew that I would use the lenses on it. So that was the result after I got my first DSLR. If you want to find them lenses cheap, look at Jumble sales, charity shops, Gumtree esp where film camera section and the likes. That is where I get mine. How much did you buy yours by the way? I love the vintage lenses. They have their own aesthetic and I love the manual focussing and the challenges it poses esp with the speed. It forces me to slow down and be more deliberate than I would be with a lens with auto focus. Before I used this lens, I knew nothing about Chinon and after this I never looked at a Chinon lens without some admiration for them. They are brilliant. If I find a cheap one I will buy it again.

I have been looking at investing in the Sony system Richard Crowe. I had my mind set on either the A6000 as that has recently come down in price but looking at the specs I think the A6300 or 6500 are better buys. Your feedback on these lens is very helpful. It will come in handy. So in the meantime, I am saving for the A6500 instead of settling for the A6000. I might get better features for slightly more money and I am sure the prices will drop again with the release of the A6400. I have the 70-200 F4 L but the rendering of the soft focus lens is quite different from the F4. It just has a slightly different aesthetic to it. But it is a great substitute when you don't want to draw attention to yourself in some places but need that reach. I have been using this lens with the Canon M50 and guess what? The eye auto focus works on this lens with the EF to Ef-M adaptor. The lens works like a native lens built for the M series. It is just that Canon's eye auto focus is not on the same par with the Sony eye auto focus. It is also works well with the focus peaking feature in the camera but this lens was not really made to manual focus but it works though. It is a lens I am reluctant to part with and I find it useful when I need killer head shots.

Kelly. Vlogs you did well. I’d suggest you watch some clips by Julia she an Australian Photographer very cool. But has some videos on tips on what are good posses and stuff for modelling for photos. She sellls lots to big companies but is a really cool chick. Maybe might help you get some good tips to go further in your modeling for photography. Plus it’s free. But she is someone I think is really truthful and only trying to help others. Check out her channel. If can’t find message me back I’ll give you full name as just at shops seem this. Chris Simmonds Thanks for the feedback. £90 is good bargain for this lens and the image quality it can produce. I love everything about it. It is a pity about the lack of image stabilisation but it is not a deal breaker. The price and good glass and focal length and aperture offset that negative. I use it a lot for portrait and event work but it is also good for general photos and landscape as perfectly illustrated in the photo you captured. I think the focal length gives it an advantage because if you used a wide angle lens you would have lost a lot. Excellent. Enjoy it. You have an excellent taste in glass.
